Hi Guys, I am hoping that you can help me out, i am very interested in starting moto trials, but i am a big lad, i am 183cm tall and weight 125kg am i too big to ride trials bikes? i ride dirt bikes at the moment and strugle with suspension setup but i do own an old husqvarna and it is had to get parts for. Any help would be much appreciated. Dave

Does anyone know where I can get a good edition of the 'Trials Techniques'?

In Northeastern US and other parts Michelin tires seem to be the most popular. I always hear how they are the best. Curious as to what is most popular in the UK? I have always used Michelins but I am considering Dunlops next. Any comments?

I need to fit some new bearings to my bike in the very near future and to save doing this pain in the ass job on a regular basis would like to fit some grease nipples ..has anyone fitted grease nipples to various parts of their bike to make greasing easier. I`ve got a 98 Techno...so I contacted Lampkins about doing it. They said that doing this "might" put to much stress on the area around the hole and start to crack and they know of nobody else who has tried it has anyone else done this mod and found any problems like cracking or anything similar dont want to cause a bigger problem than I`m curing Regards N

did a trial last week and leaves clogged the front mudguard really bad (so much it stopped the bike and the back wheel just spun, and I had to drag the fuggin thing up a hill before I realised the prob ) So, I know you can get spacers, but being a tighta$$ - is there any reason why I just can't ride without the guard (keep the brace)? Bike is a TYZ250 if it matters cheers :hat:

Someone has just commented that they see people with too much air pressure in their tyres. Is it possible to have too little pressure? I worry about damaged rims if I run too low. I weigh nearer to 70kg than 80kg, ride a 4RT and run about 4psi on the rear. Sometimes I struggle with grip and think I should try lower pressure. But then I run onto rocks and think that would be a bad idea. What is your opinion?

Hi, New to all this. Always fancied a go at trials, but never really got around to it. Due to a previous (road-track racing) injury I've got to take it relatively easy until I have a bit of metal removed; was thinking it might be a good time to have a play at some basic trials as doing enduro, which I'd hoped to have a play with this year, is probably a bit risky. So; what are the possibilities for entering a basic-style trial on an enduro bike? I'm lead to believe a lot of trials offer the option for enduro bikes to enter. Can I just sign up and go along, or do I need to do ACU stuff, etc (haven't renewed my road-race ACU licence this year as won't be needing it fo…

Hi everybody I've had two chain tensioners (brand: Ariete) that broke in to pieces in a very short time although the discription says the following: 'A replacement trials chain tensioner spare pad made from the much more durable silicon rubber More expensive than the standard rubber item, but will pay back with much longer life' So here's my question: What brand do you guys use, are the S3 any good?

Hi there Is it possible to do Enduro events or even hare and hounds on a trials bike ?? Is it allowed and can it be done ?? Would the miles kill the bike ?? I have recently bought an enduro and a trials bike and enjoy the long distance runs but just LOVE my trials bike. I realise that i wont be quick enough to compete but i really fancy it none the less I have a Beta 200 rev 3 and a Yamaha WR 250 2 stroke...............but quite frankly if its not possible on my wee Beta i would sell my enduro and trials bike if it could be done on a 4 stroke trials bike or..................??? any suggestions ?? I've bought 2 Trials bikes one from dealer and one private and they both said use Automatic Transmition Fluid in the gearbox and change it often. That said to buy 5 ltrs but what and where do I buy it from. I've had the bikes out twice now so am I correct in changing it ever couple of outings or am I being a bit anal changing it that often. Hi all, I have 2003 Cota 315 which has developed some kind of problem with the engine. Over the past few rides I noticed a noise at lower rpm which sounded like kind of a ratchet, but deeper. Hard to explain! Anyway, today things got worse. In neutral, the bike starts and runs well without unusual noise. But under load, at low rpm the noise is apparent, then, when I open the throttle more, the engine looses all power. Perhaps the noise and power loss are unrelated? The engine oil is fine, it has a new spark plug ( surely this couldn't be the problem), and the fuel is new at 80:1. Yours thoughts please! Thanks, Chris

Balance points of TXT vs PRO vs BETA vs others I had a chance to ride an '03 BETA. Can't believe how easy (yes, easy!) it was to do nose wheelies and swing the back end around. I have an '00 Gasser TXT and I practice nosies all the time and am still not that good at it. But I can do them on the Beta. The front/back balance point is way different. The Beta's rear wheel comes up easily and yet feels VERY stable. Its easy to "carry" the rear tire longer which makes it very flickable. In contrast, my 321TXT feels as though I must carry the rear wheel higher to do the same thing. It just doesn't have the stable feel of the Beta during a nosie. (I imagine peg locati…

As I'm about to pick up a 2016 Scorpa ty125 4 stroke, I was wondering how everyone with modern plastic fuel tanks get on with fuel that has 5-10% ethanol, which, in the UK, is the most common type of pump fuel. Or does everyone use specialist fuel like Aspen4T or Stihl4T. Expensive at £20 for 5ltrs. Just worried that plastic tanks and carb seals won't swell up with modern ethanol based fuel.

Hello to everybody, I'm new to trials and I just bought a TXT pro 280 05 and I changed both tyres for fresh brand new xlights. I have no problems with the rear but the front tyre if I run it at 0.5-0.45bar of pressure it just comes off the bead and goes inside the rim for about 15-20cm. If I put some soapy water and pump it up to 4bar it pops on again, so I leave it for a day to set in place but after a couple of rides it goes off again. I did clean the rim etc. Any ideas? Thanks

It's still me...had to re-register with a slightly changed name... I just sorted a problem that caused me a bunch of headache...and probably a top end. I came across this in the early 90's when fuels were changing. I had thoroughly serviced my carb, so It was a last resort to pull it off AGAIN, but, as a last resort, I did; and I found no fuel in the bowl. The float needle was stuck in the seat...probably due to swollen rubber tip from some fuel additive or another. Watch out for it!

A few of my mates have been arguing about what is the largest by cc, and largest by horsepower, of all trials bikes, ancient and modern..... anyone care to enter a few models in the ring??? S.M.

Hi Just ordered a ful sticker kit for my evo..... 2012 ttt. Can anyone offer some sound advice on : removal of existing stickers Removal of contaminants such as silicone spray, wd40etc Application of new stickers......... I want to do the job righ so any advice is welcome!
