Trials Transport

Has anyone seen where this carrier is available? I don't know for certain if it would work on my SAAB (factory V.5 rated hitch), but it seems it or something like it may work. (To haul my OSSA Explorer)

well, as i discussed in a previous thread , ive been building a new trailer...... i had a very good one, but it was too big and heavy and i wanted a more "trials bike specific" trailer.... so, i got the angle grinder out and set to work.... stripped the original trailer down to just the axle and wheels and began again from there..... heres what i came up with... all newly made bar the axle and wheels, fits 3 bike very securely on it, two forwards,one backwards..... im made up with the results and im happy for anyone to copy this as a patern for their own should they wish too... this picture shows the frame in a bit more detail, before excess bits where chopped …

I found that if I compressed the fork legs on my Gas Gas with a ratchet strap it would wheel straight into the back of My Ford Galaxy people carrier with no need for any dismantling of the bike. The bike goes in front wheel in first and is a perfect fit with the rear mudguard just clearing the boot. I made this rack to hold the bike securely. It simply clips into the slots in the floor where the middle seat would be. What do you think? Only thing is I've now sold the Galaxy and bought a van!

I’ve just tied up an old bike trailer, and have replaced lights, tyres, some welding and a fresh paint job. But it has no chassis plate, I’m guessing it’s a homebuilt or modified small trailer Whats the law on not having a chassis plate on an old trailer?

We've had a Kliponoff trailer for about fifteen years now and its been ultra reliable, just after renewing the indespenion units and hubs but can't find any contact numbers for the company. Heard they stopped trading a while back but someone at a trial recently said they had started up again somewhere West/Souty Yorks area. Be grateful if anyone has a contact number for them. Thanks.

Spent some time with a trailer manufacturer to design a trailer for our trials, enduro and road bikes. Criteria was... Single axle with disc brakes, 1400kg capacity, tare weight around 500kg, longish drawbar with big gear box and lockable, wide ramp to ride bikes into trailer, fully enclosed. 2 bike capacity normal with 4 in when needed, recessed tie-down pionts as we want to sleep inside at trials events and not stub toes, fully painted outside and underneath, new wheels and tyres not second hand, led lights and full registration for road. Just read another report of a bike theft in Stolen Bikes section on another dirt bike forum - chap reckons he was followed home and 'marked' Is it getting too dangerous to use a trailer or rack and put your wares on display...............seems following you home is a popular way for these to 'mark' your place and nick your stuff Are you more wary, doing a double loop to shake off unwanted attention? I must admit whenever I see a bike on a trailer or rack - I always have a good look to check it out and i'm the pikeys do too

Can anybody tell me the differnce between a bike rack that ges on a car and one suitable for the back of a van or motorhome. I am sure that I have seen them advertised at different prices. I have managed to blag a motorhome for the Reeth 3 day, but need to get my bike up there. The motorhome has a tow bar, and I can borrow a rack off a friend, but it is a Dave Cooper car type. Can anybody tell me if this will fit? Thanks Dave

Now have a Fiat Doblo car and am most relieved to find my Fantic 200 goes in? question is...where are the tie down points? Are they already there or are they screw in eyes? I don't want to take up the carpet yet until I have to. Thanks

Anyone towed a bike in a trailer? Iv got an 8'x5' trailer dont really want to tow with the bike laying down so will convert so it can stand up. Any one else done this? C

I’m looking to buy a van to transport 2, possibly 3 Trials bikes. I’ve narrowed it down to Ford Connect (new shape) L2 or a Citroen Dispatch (new shape). I’d prefer to buy the Ford, but checking the dimensions of the van it seems close for two bikes, so very close for 3 bikes. The Dispatch has more space but lower mpg. Does anybody have a connect L2 with 3 bikes or dispatch?

Hi Everyone I have a Peugeot Partner van L1 swb 2017 model with the the bulk head in . What I would like to know is ...could I fit two bikes in ? has any one got pics of this? I thought it's about time i post up some pictures of my budget camper trailer. All prices listed are AUD, $1 aud is about 0.5 UK pounds. My whole setup seen below is about half the cost of a new bike. Camping is a year round tradition in Australia as it doesn't get very cold in most parts and it's not very wet for most of the year. Camper trailers are big business down under and are everywhere. About 2007 i decided that i needed a trailor for camping. I purchased a brand new offroad trailor for about $1700. I think it was another $200 for the trailer manufacturer to add 3x jerry's, 1x gas bottle holder, upright spare, rear recovery hitch etc so the total was about $190…

Hi there, it's about time i got myself a trailer rather than relying on mi dad to cart me about. It will be towed by a real mini (no bmw rubbish) so wants to be lightweight and not too wide really. Also ideally small so doesn't take up too much storage space. I remember a while back seeing someone with a sort of front triangle of a trailer and over the axle of the trailer there was a box in which the bashplate sat on. This intrigues me cause it means the weight of the bike is sat over the axle and its short and lighter. Something like this... But possibly even shorter? How can i go about getting myself something like this or base for me to build one on? Not really …
