Is there commercial area in the parking lot? What I can find there normally? Any chance they accepting CC's or I should bring cash? And non Trial related item, but one that I should not come back home without it! A (very) good bottle of single malt whiskey! Is there any good shop in town? If not, is there any on the way? Those days, I cannot wait to the duty free shops in the airport 'cos they are not allowing liquids on board. have to buy it before... See you on Friday after noon!

Up in Scotland for a couple of days but only going to be able to take in one day of the trial. Monday. Want to cram in as much as possible on that day plan is to start at Leanachan also do Lagnaha and Town Hall Brae can anyone recommend a group inbetween that I stand a chance of getting parked at? Was thinking Blackwater or Coire Mhorair, are these groups ok for spectators? Cheers Dave

  4. After five long days of battle incredibly only two marks separate the top three riders, leaving everything set for a tight and tense finale to the 2012 Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT). Dougie Lampkin (Gas Gas) will take a single mark lead into the final day of the event tomorrow as he bids to claim a record-breaking sixth win at this world famous event. His closest challenger James Dabill (Beta) rode himself right back into contention today, as he went clean on a day when his rivals all increased their tallies. Both Lampkin and Dabill have previously tasted the winner's champagne in the Scottish Highlands, the latter having been victorious during last year's centenary SS…

Right who’s your top 3 this year then? A lot of hype over mr lampkin this year , loads of videos floating around about his prep and stuff and he’s looking real sharp , after dabills cruel luck last year I think he will be very hungry for the win , who else could be in the mix , my top 3 is lampkin pushed close by dabill and then long shot a top national lad maybe dan Thorpe /Richard Sadler

Tweet from the SSDT site says " ssdtoffice Here's a starter for you - Town Hall Brae may have a wee revamp by May...and it's getting used on both Monday and Saturday... " Hate to admit it, but I have dabbed it a time or two, however the last time I did ride it with a flat sack. I also remember Crosser doing a fancy bit of riding up there one year. Wonder what they have in store for the revamp?.

Michael Brown has found himself in familiar territory at the Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) this week in Fort William. The 25 year-old Gas Gas rider from Scarborough, who has so far been runner-up in the SSDT four times (in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011), starts day six in third place, chasing his first ever win. With only one mark separating Brown from second-placed James Dabill (Beta), and current leader Dougie Lampkin (Gas Gas) just two marks in front, today's final battle for the top spot will be closely fought.

I have been given a pewter tankard, found at a car boot sale, bearing the inscription: Scottish Six Days Trial 1949 Won by R.Clayton It has the usual "Haud Forrit" E+DMC logo. Can anyone shed a light on who R. Clayton was and what he won in 1949 (as I can see from the records that he was not the outright winner).

We've had an astonishing amount of last minute cancellations for this year's SSDT, mostly due to injury (you're a careless lot!!), which means that over the past fortnight every rider who contacted us to stay on the late reserve list has got an entry. That's great, but we've had a further four withdrawals today! If you were on the reserve list, and still fancy a shot at the trial at this late stage, get in touch with me and we'll get a place sorted for you - they'll be allocated on a first come, first served basis and you'll need to contact me by email if you're keen - I'm on the road now, so telephone and fax aren't options! The email address is ssdtoffice@ssdt.wanado…

So who will win the six days? Dougie must be favourite but I'd love to see Michael Brown win having been second so many times. Jack Price has ridden before on a 125 but should do much better on a 300. What do people think ?

Remember to fit your bike with a rear facing number plate or you will NOT get through scruitineering. - this includes non UK registered bikes The importers have a very nifty FREE plate bracket for every entrant so there is no excuse, - just see them on Sunday morning. Each importer is supporting a charity so if you make a small donation in exchange for your bracket you will be helping a good cause. See you all up there. Mark
