On February 10, 2009, a new law called the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act went into effect. This law was created by Congress last August as a knee-jerk reaction to hazardous toys being imported from China (remember the Fisher-Price toy recalls). It bans all products sold for use by children which contain above certain levels of lead and phthalates. In the act, children is defined as anyone 12 or under, and the law is very broad in that it exempts no products from its purview. How does this become an issue of importance to motorcycle riders? Hi My son is 16 years old ,17 next August, 5'10" He wants to start doing trials events. What size engine is he allowed?

The tyres that came on my lads GasGas TXT50 Boy are pretty naff! Has anyone found any better replacements? They are 16" front and 14" rear.

So if you are moving up a class next year and your club has started its 2006 season. Which class would you enter?

Hi i got a trials bike for xmas and i was just wondering which is the best club to start with in skipton north yorkshire aera ? I have been practicing at Addingham moor side is there anywhere else to practice?

Are there any Youth specific beginner dead easy trials coming up anywhere?? I feel that my son is not yet ready for the easy route on our normal club trials, and was looking for something to take him too that he's got half a chance of doing ok in to build his confidence up. Or indeed a 'non' youth specific beginners/ dead easy trial would be good too. I realy don't want to just throw him into something thats too hard and him have a miserable day. He's nearly 10 and rides a beta 80 big wheel if that makes any difference. We are based in the east midlands but dont mind a drive for the right event Thanks

Hi all, after a little advise, I'm looking to get my son a trials bike for his birthday in a couple of weeks. I have been looking at getting a beta 80 junior, but these are like hens teeth in the second hand market. Are 80 big wheeled bikes the same size as a full size bike?? I don't want to get him a big wheel and then he finds it to big and heavy and doesn't enjoy it! He knows his way around bikes, rides a ktm 65 in enduro. Can ride my bike but feels it's to big and says he wants a small one here he is riding mine to guage his size....

At the mintex trial the bikes have to be below 85dBA dose any one now what distance they mesure bike at or what reves they do it at ??

The ACU have bowed to pressure and switched the Youth and Ladies national series to FIM rules for 2009. Hence Stopping is to be allowed.

hi i have a gas gas txt 50, but my lad is about 2 inches short of touching the floor, a friend advised lowering with a mountain bike shocker, he had seen someone at a trial and this chap had done this, we bought a mountain bike shocker (about 5 inches long) but this one is too short and the swinging arm won't meet has anyone done this, what size did you use, any advise appreciated, just want to get him started, but safely,..... or grow bags and stretching rack required ALSO anyone know where i can get a new slider for the forks, or get them repaired, got some marks on them and might ruin the new seals i'm going to put in thanks again Mick

Why don't the ACU implement a championship like this? They have it in the ladies championship so why not in the youths? I reckon it would boost entries massively, as I know many youth A riders who would love to ride in the British championship, but do not want to ride the full A class route. I know youth A's can ride the B route on a 'no points, no awards' basis, but why not make it an actual championship?

This Sunday 23rd December there will be no TY or Purple route for the kids at the Stanley Trial at Butsfield. The following week (30th) we will be back to nornal with kids routes on. Wishing you a very merry Christmas from Consett and Stanley Trials clubs Hope to see you all in the New Year - Bring the kids along with their new bikes to get into trialling. We will cater for all levels and always put something on for whoever turns up, be it a purple route around the main course, or a separate TY route cheers John

Hi. I'd like to find my boy a medium wheel 80 but it seems all you get second hand are big wheel versions. My question is can you retro fit a set of medium wheels onto a big wheel bike?

Anybody seen an entry form and supplementary regs for this Trial? I've tried the website with no luck.
