Guys, i have recently got an 08 Rev 3 250. There is lots I like about it, but i do have all the symptoms of 'Beta clutch drag'. I am going to perform the clutch mod as detailed in the sticky post, but I have a couple of points id like help with:- The bike is one owner and i believe on its original clutch. I wasny told it had been replaced at point of sale. If i ride slowly down hill on a closed throttle, i can hear the wheel turning the engine, and effecting engine braking. When I fully pull the clutch in, the engine braking noise continues for some 5+ metres, before the clutch frees and the engine returns to its natural idle. There isnt any clutch slip etc at the m…

So I got a great deal on a factory Evo from a local shop. I'm getting it resprung for my weight (225lbs), fork guards and bar ends. My question for you Beta experts is, does it need anything else? And, are there any design issues with the bike I should be aware of? Lastly, what parts are good to have on hand for the bike (air filters, oil drain plug washer, etc)? Any recommendations welcome!! BTW my background is trail riding 300 KTM's and I'm fine doing maintenance work on the bike myself!

Have a new to me 13 evo 300. Finally mustered the nerve to switch to Map2 setting and found that pressing the button does nothing. It will press down but will not click into the down (#2) position. Is there a process that I'm not aware of? Sweet Bike!

Hi, I've been riding alot of fire roads and trails recently and riding the bike in 5th gear at some speed. When I roll off the throttle there seems to be a knocking or clunking that I can;t place. The bike runs fine but don;t like random noises. Could this be the piston? It's an 04 model and I bought it 6 months ago. I don;t know if Piston/ ring hase been changed- would this be recommended? How easy is the job and cost of parts? Many thanks for your help. Mil

I seem to be having some bad luck with a 2007 Rev 3 250 I bought a few weeks back, I have only rode it for about 7 hours in total on 3 occasions and its played up in some way each time. 1st time out I couldn't get it started, unbeknown to me the stock kill switch sticks on which a helpful person where I was riding pointed out but the next day and from then on it wont start unless the lights button was depressed as well. 2nd time out I found that when I shut off the throttle it takes about 10 seconds for the revs to drop to idle speed and there's pinking at low revs, another kind gentleman where I was riding advised me there might be an air leak on the intake and to serv…

First off I have done a search and read a lot of the threads on bleeding brakes. This is the front brake, so far I have: Presssure bled both ways. gravity bled. Bled with the engine on (vibration can help) left for 24 hours for any air in the system to disipate. bled with the caliper of so you can move it around to help dislodge and trapped air. I am sure there is no air in there!! I do have pressure, it just seems a little spongy, the system starts to build pressure almost when the piston has only moved about 3mm.Btw the piston in the m/c is returning fully, and has a brand new seal kit fitted. It almost seems as though the pistons move out as pressure builds in…

I dont know if this has been covered before, apologies if it has. Just after I started the Bemrose trial at the weekend I started losing gearbox oil somewhere from the clutch cover side of the engine. I didnt lose enough to stop me finishing the trial but it was a bit concerning from a 2005 bike. I havent had chance to look at it yet, is there anything obvious I should know about before I strip it down. Thanks.

Appreciate if someone can tell me if I really have this 'slow' version of Domino throttle installed. I marked the black visible part by the red arrow.

I got out on my bike today and after a couple of hours of pottering about the bike started spluttering like it was running out of fuel I didn't realise I had it on reserve already I got half way back to the car park and the engine cut out topped up the tank and when I re started it wouldn't idle so I adjusted idle and started to ride off when the bike spluttered and died. Now the bike won't start and there is no spark new plug or old riders where I was said it might be the stator as is a common problem does anybody know how to check them so can rule this out before I drain the coolant again! I have multi meter and the fly wheels off. Bikes a 2007 rev3 250

Relatively new to me 2016 EVO 300 4T. Out riding yesterday, bike was running fine. Wheelied to a stop in the fork of the tree, and parked the bike in a wheelie position for a few minutes while I did some trail maintenance. Pulled the bike out of the tree, and couldn't start it. Assumed I had flooded or starved it. Finally, after about 50 kicks, got it started. It ran for a minute then died. Repeated, got it started again. It would run at a slow throttle pace, but would bog when I added more throttle. Thinking I ended up with some trash somewhere in the fuel system. Before I pull apart the carb, I thought I should determine whether this bike has a fuel filter. P…

I was thinking that to start the new year off in style with the signing of Doug to Beta, should they release a Doug Special Edition early in 2008? Ok, we don't know for sure which bike he is riding in relation to 2t or 4T, but I reckon it would be a good marketing to release one asap. What do you think?
