This section of the forums has been set up to allow users POSITIVE interaction with the ACU and to collect that interaction in one place so it is easy to find and so that posts do not get buried amongst other topics in the UK Trials Talk forum (plus it makes it easier for Dicko to find stuff for his editorial) ACU-bashing will not be permitted. Brief notes taken from minutes of the meeting (WWW.bradfordtrials.co.uk) Riders Views: Sections need to be more consistent. It was felt that at some rounds there were some riders taking part who are not up to the level required to contest a British Championship, at Expert level and these riders tended to ride together and numerous failures tended to cause a delay for other riders. Does anybody have any names for anyone i can contact at the ACU. Myself and my father sent our 2009 applications of in the same envelope along time ago. We both got the usual email messages to say they were being done, my father received his but mine never arrived. Nobody is replying to the emails I've sent and I'm not usually free in the day to call so does anyone know whose the best point of contact in the licence department? Cheers

Just a couple of questions regarding this years solo championship, maybe John Collins or someone else at the ACU could answer. I make no excuse for asking these questions, my son wishes to ride in Expert A but has been given a very low priority in Expert B. 1) Why is there a need to split the classes? 2) Why have such a limited entry for Expert A? 3) Why did the entry rules change at the end of the season? 4) How did the ACU T&E Committee prioritise Expert B? 5) Isn't this going to stifle the development of our younger riders moving into the adult class? ps. I notice that Guisborough have been given the date of 25-07-10 for the John Hardaker Trial. This date clashes with the Reeth 3 Day weekend, as I guess both Trials will be directed at the same riders somebody somewhere is going to loose out.

Was talking trials to a mate today and got onto the subject of the Miller classes. he suggested I have a look at the "revised" rules for 2016. Is it me or has the point been completely missed ? There is STILL no difference in the classes to distinguish between a Pre unit big banger and a sub 190lb James/Bantam/Cub. Or have I read last years regs or the wrong page completely ?

Coming at this afresh, I cant help but notice that the ACU gazette could be updated a little. A commendable update on the website, however could i please make a plea for a key or glossary ? Those that know, know, but those that dont find it really frustrating to find out. Entries such as CR, RI, RR, are great if you know what it stands for, but all i want to know is can i ride in it or not? just wont to see if anybody else thinks the same as me about the ACU is it time for them to move over and get new blood into look at the trials seen.Is it full of old blokes that wont let go(it worked 40 years ago so it should work now)i have worked with guy that is putting a lot in to motox and trying new things that no one else has done thinking out side the box and it is working does trials need this.i think it does for sure.

Was out marking sections for next weeks Ladies round today when the subject of next years A/B championship came around, and how living on an Island makes traveling to these event more expensive and time consuming than other competitors. For example last weekend my van clocked up 639 miles going to Scarbrough and back, they left there at 5pm after the trial, 7 hours later they only just got the midnight ferry arriving home about 2am in the morning, both lads were knackered and missed school on monday. This weekend - 17/7/11 - only 6 riders on the Championship course, 8 on the Expert course and 39 starters on the Clubman (Exp B ) course. . Is it about time the championship was put back on to a National courses? 1 lap x 40+ sections. No practice lap. No Minders. Only one chance to ride the section. What do you think? Would your Club be prepared to run a British Solo Championship within your National? If so go to your Centre meetings and get a proposal to the Trials & Enduro Committee. Forget about the Youth class they have their own Championship.

Following on from the no-stop or stop British Championship issues is there a good way to communicate with and get the views of the riders and other interested people. Historically the meetings at Rugby to discuss such things are often poorly attended due to many reasons. A few are listed but I guess there's loads. It's too expensive to go. I am too busy to attend. If I go is it worth the effort. Will my views be taken into account as they are all old codgers. They only listen to what the top lads think. Hello, I am intending to start trials riding again. I haven't entered a competition since the 1980's and that was at a club meeting, I was never asked for a licence. The only licence I can find is the ACU Competition Licence international trials, is this the licence I need? I will only be doing club events. Thanks currently restoring a Montesa 349

hey folks, Gunna be joining in at my first trial on sunday, I have downloaded and printed entry forms but not sure how to make the payment, Can i send a cheque and who do i make it payable to?? Also, How do i know what route and class to choose if i have never done a trial, Im thinking intermediate because i have been told novice is too easy! Is this tru?

Does anyone know how much the ACU have raised their trials fees by for 2015 ? I have seen clubs raising entry fees by £2 to cover this years increase.

Credit where credit is due! I applied for my licence and my two sons licences on the 28th of December and sent off the parental consent form on the same day, I received all three licences back today. Considering the time of year and the number of renewals that must be in the system, brilliant thank you.

Why does the ACU send out the hand book I have requested not to have it in any form (CD or Book) but they keep sending?
