Newbie here! I've just bought back a 320TL I had 25 years ago and as well as having a bit of fun on it I'm hoping to restore it back to something like it should be (I've already ordered a list of stuff from Martin for a kick off). The main question I have just now is frame colour. The bike is 1978 and was registered with the DVLA in November that year. The frame and engine seem to have been spray painted a very dark brown that looks like black at first glance but underneath is what I assume to be the original black. There is absolutely no hint of there ever being red on the frame. I have seen images online of a very early SWM 320TL brochure where the bike …

HI GUYS im new 2 the SWM i have the bultacos. but i was thinking off geting a 1978 SWM the red and white 1 could you tell me was that model any good? and is the a big diffrance to the later yellow jumbo model?

Here is a video of my 1978 SWM TL320 Engine Rattle. Is it a problem as I have heard several at Trials that sounds the same or louder?

This week I was lucky enough to buy a 1979 Gunaco only to find out today that in fact I have bought a nice bike with a completly knackered motor. It did rattle a little on the test ride but after stripping it down we found everything hugely worn and needs replacing plus a rebored etc etc etc. Plus when we lent it over to look at the clutch it lost oil from a cracked casing behind the engine sprocket, where a chain has jumped at some time. It was sold as only needing a make over with assurances the motor was sound and in good nick. To the sellers credit after a quick phone call he has agree to take it back and reimburse and or participate in putting the engine right …

Hi guys, anyone know of a source for TL320 fuel tank to frame mounting rubbers...the doughnuts that sit at the front of the tank that the tank 'slides' into? I spoke with Martin at SWM.Moto and no luck....must be something around that can do the job...Honda TL125 ones won't! A quick google finds tank rubbers out there but I don't have old rubbers to go by - mine are missing - I can try and source some rubbers but I need a photo of one to go by and some dimensions would be real handy too. If anyone could help on that front I'd be grateful and pass on what I find. many thanks

Hi guys i have an oil capacity in my users manual (US market I believe) but no oil weight, any recomendations? Do these zokes respond to differing air gaps? ....just a thought, I'm assuming these are damper rod forks being this old? As usual any help welcome

Hi, has anybody out there had any experience with this type of clutch actuator ? Does it make a big difference or none at all to the lightness of the clutch ?

Anyone have a good source for the 280 pistons? I’m going to rebuild my 1982 TL320 and will probably need a oversized piston. Heard you can use 583 Ski Doo or Sea Doo pistons. I definitely want a two ring piston.

This all wheel drive SWM was built in 1981! It was a Prototype, they competed with it once and the FIM banned all wheel drive bikes. If anyone else knows anymore about this Prototype or have more pictures, please post them!

Has anyone tried removing the perforated tube inside the midbox to make it more like an expansion chamber? With the perforated tube in place it seems that the midbox is really just a muffler. A straight section of pipe would have virtually the same effect performance wise it would seem ,although the exhaust note would be a bit louder(but the bike 2.4lbs.lighter). I am considering combining a gutted midbox and a MX type rear silencer or custom aluminum replica SWM rear box to improve power( and save about 5lbs). I am familiar with making changes to the exhaust systems on piston port engines , but less informed on rotory valve engines, so I am not really sure if this would …

Hi All, can anybody help i went to change the oil on my 320 and i took the bolt out that is the kickstop gear stop ,i have the clutch cover off and the clutch basket but a cant see how to pre load the kickstart gear/spring? . Cheers Paul . 07989 313652

Can anyone help me with the dimensions and shape of the pivot bracket for the propstand off a 320TL. I am about to strip the paint from the frame and swinging arm and I thought that I could replace the bracket that was missing when I purchased the bike. Judging by the weld that's left it looks like it was 35mm long and 5 or 6 mm wide where it fits onto the swinging arm. I haven't been able to take a photo of it but will add one if I get the chance. Any SWM / Rotax engine aficianados out there for some advice? I've recently acquired a very clean SWM 320TL which I suspect has had an easy life. The previous owner told me on collection that he thought it had picked up some sediment in the carb' having been sat for a couple of years, and I'd need to give it a good clean. I briefly ran it, and he was right, it was displaying the classic signs of a gummy carb and blocked pilot jet... it wouldn't run at low revs, needing choke to keep it alive as they dropped, though was okay at larger throttle openings. So, I fitted a new pilot jet, (a size 60, though I know some folk say a 65 is best) and cleaned the carb' including…
