I picked up a used 2014 250 Gas Gas a few months ago. I've only had it out for a serious ride once. It was surging, stumbling, hesitating and knocking pretty badly from just off idle to 1/4th throttle. I spent a few days jetting the bike but would like to know if anyone else had a similar issue with this throttle range? I cleaned the carb thoroughly. I sprayed WD40 around the base gasket, reed block, carb boot, etc to rule out an air leak. But it would be nice to know I'm not the only that had this issue with the stock carb setup. If I am the only one, while I might have fixed it buy fattening up the mixture in that range, but I really need to go back and figu…

Anyone know how much the new bikes are going to cost? Will the extra little features like the titanium front pipe, anodized wheels etc add to last years price? Cheers

I ordered a load of parts from Gas Gas UK including a cylinder base gasket. I have just had a look at a parts list which shows there are four sizes available, I assume that Gas`Gas will have sent me the correct size for my TXT 250 pro?? Also does it matter which way up the gasket sits (printed side up / down and should it be fitted dry or lubricated in any way. Thanks Beeaj (thank god for this forum!)

Hi I'm new to trials and I recently bought a 2005 300 raga edition. On my last time out I was practicing slow wheelies up a hill when the engine started knocking a fair bit. We went back to the van and stripped the clutch side down expecting to see something but there was no obvious signs of new damage. But there was a little play in the clutch basket, is normal? Since then I have totally stripped the engine to check for play in bearings and gears but I can't find anything other than the kickstart idle gear is pretty messy teeth broken. Would that cause a serious knocking sound?

2009 125 has all of a sudden developed what seems to be a very heavy/stiff clutch when engaging. Nothing has changed other than a recent change of lever. There is plenty fluid in the resivoir and the clutch itself is working ok. Any theories on what might be the issue ?

Hi there, i starting riding trials bikes (gas gas txt pro 250 05 model) a couple of months ago and when i bought it i was given a measuring jug for the 2 stroke and a bottle of 2 stroke in with the deal. the guy in the shop marked out 75ml on the jug and told me that is what i should use in 5 litres of petrol. i have recently run out of 2 stroke so i bought a bottle of Motul 710 (as recomended on the gas gas shop website) and on the bottle it says i should mix it as 100ml to 5 litres, can anyone give me any advice on the right amount that i should use? thanks

Hi I am returning to trials after a 30 year break and have aquired a TXT Pro 300. Does anybody know what the 07 standard gearing is? Mine has 9 up front and 44 on the back, which seems a strange combination compared to what I have read here. The back end will spin up when I give it some on loose/muddy hills but it never seems to get to the very top of really steep hills either I'm not going fast enough or its spinning. I cant quite work out which yet. I tried a Sherco 250 and it shot up everything when given a handfull. Any ideas?

  16. http://youtu.be/9O93JWXvBB0 Took the bike out today and it started making rattly noises, sounds to me like the piston but when I started looking ive noticed the clutch cover is cracked around the starter shaft. So two questions: 1. Should the shaft move like this, if not what do I need to fix it? 2. Could that have been the noise I heard that I thought was the piston?

hello. I have a 2012 gas gas txt pro 300 and was wondering if there's anyway of giving it more power? I have fitted a high compression head, keihin carb, carbon reeds and a ultra fast action throttle tube and it still feels a bit gutless. I don't know if this is because i have come from racing road bikes or whether my bike is broken? I have rode a few other 300cc trials bikes and they all seem to be a bit flat. Is there anything else i can try to get a bit more "go" out of it? Thanks, Gary.
