Does anyone have any experience of using Silkolene Pro Boost? Would it be OK to use in a 4RT? Is there any downside, eg engine wear etc? Cheers

I notice on the montesa I just purchased that two bolt/stoppers are not on the headstock, they keep the fork tree from slamming the frame. Should they be there or do you remove them for tighter turns? sam

Finally got round to getting a mate to copy my Laia Sains single map out of my PTB. Would like to now put this into friends twin map PTB. Is this map compatible. Are the early leads and original software compatible If not can it be changed - ie file name etc Or will it need to be rewritten in a new format. I think this may have been asked before but didn't turn up much in searches I have tried. Thanks

Great bike, just wondering about better protection on the skid plate. The stock one is kind of thin and is getting beat up a bit. I would be looking for a thicker plate with some sort of back extension to protect the swing arm linkage. Saw these plates at LewisportUSA. Anyone use these Costa Special parts? Any other thought on skid plates? Thanks Tom

When removing the skid plate on my '01 I found that the shape is changed a wee bit ( seems that the pre-owner did quite a lot of work on rocks...) Questions: When mounting an OK skid plate, would you have a non-contact between lower engine housing and skid-plate? What is the measured distance for bolt hole to bolt hole (rear to front) on a new skid plate? The 10 ton press needs a bit of a workout Stefan

I'm trying to work out why my Mont is over revving. It could be so many things so Im just going through each possbibility one at a time. Cable routed well and moving nicely. New carb rubber to cylinder. Throttle body moving well and not caught. Just taken carb apart. I've never had an amal carb before so Im not use to their seting up. The slide seems to have about 2mm gap at the bottom. This seems a bit excessive. Am I right ? I thought the idle jet alone would allow for it to idle with the slide shut. Does the slide require a gap and if so how much ? Also, Im worried that the slide may be worn. Should there be any play at all in the slide or not ? gareth

When i'm in 4th, 5th or 6th and have full throttle on the bike revs right up but it doesn't speed up, at first i thought it was wheel spin but its not. it has a cable clutch and is adjustable. should i adjust it? or put new oil in? and what oil would be best? it has a Honda HRC 250cc two stroke engine thanks

I have a 2018 300 with black throttle tube. It looks just like the 2T throttle. Is a slower one available? I have a 2016 Beta 300 4T standard model and the throttle has much more resolution for small blips, maybe 100% more resolution that makes throttle control much easier.

I've managed to get a small fuel pump and aluminium holder for the 4RT. The only thing I need is the "bulb" which I assume is some kind of expansion tank between the pump and outlet. Is the bulb needed or can I just put a tube from the pump to the outlet?

I don't like the original Cota 348 exhausts because it touches the muddy rear tire. Has anyone made or bought some smaller and lighter exhaust? If I'll make a new one, what kind of should be the composition of it?

As some may know Im currently restoring and rebuilding a Mont MH123. I've had both wheels respoked. Turned out yesterday that the front wheel has been respoked at the wrong angle and had a bias to the left by about 4mm. Obviously I've started to panic whether the rear one is also spoked wrong but it is far harder to check. The wheel seems to line up straight but only when the snail cams are adjusted in a non symmetrical manner . The chain sounds and looks like it's running straight. But the adjusting cams on the rear spindle are not in symmetrical positions to achieve this and are a few notches different to each other. They are identical cams. On my beta the cams w…

A few weeks ago i bought a PTB, everything works fine. With the software it is very easy to change settings, but what i miss is a tool for a comparison between two curves so you can understand the changes. After some thinking and debugging i have made a tool who can compare two setting-map's and display it in a diagram. Does any one else has thoughts about it ?

I’ve got a standard 2016 260RT with the R16V shock which owing to its lack of servicing ability and need for a slightly heavier spring I am looking to get a replacement. A chap can read up on what’s the dogs danglies but I want to get something decent, I’m bang on 90kg and need the spring to give back some travel. I’d like a recommendation of a good supplier or service techie to set it up for my athletic physique. Thanks in advance, Sean

Hi all, My 315 rebuild is getting closer to completion, However I've noticed the kick starter doesn't return and it's constantly engaged... I'm hoping once I give it a good kick it will disengage but im not so sure. ( I stood up on the bench and tried kicking it. I bought it has an incomplete project and im thinking the previous guy has put something together wrong, there's a video below; what do you think?
