  1. nice idea and nicely done
  2. voltage looks good ,personally id bin the electric tap and replace with a banjo and run fuel line through a inline tap that way you know when its off and on and cant go wrong
  3. have you just changed something ? does it have the spacer in between centre bearings , are the shoes too wide ,, try removing shoes to clarify wether shoes or bearings causing problem
  4. try a new coil ht lead and perhaps a plug without a resistor if there is one in the cap you possibly wouldnt know ,, symptems sound more like its lean top end though and removing snorkel could make it worse which could point in right direction ,, cant see the issue been the pilot , have you tried lifting or dropping needle and what is plug colour
  5. also just thought pirrelli look to of made a come back ,does anyone know if the rubber is any softer
  6. i used irc without problem on a rev3 then went to x11 which was ok now x light i didnt find it significantly any better , i did ride a friends rev3 with a worn out dunlop and was surprised how well it gripped
  7. hi i have 7 cota 200,s and also dable in car paint work i would say that is the nearest colour to origanal out of them all i would describe it been an orangey red ,not deep or dark red
  8. might be easier for you to pop it down to local garage and have them use an air impact gun on it a mechanic should be able to work out if its left thread if any threads are visible but been on right side and crank working in clockwise motion its a good chance its left hand
  9. if the fan fails to work after connecting stat wires together ,try connecting a 12v battery to fan to check the fan motor if it works then its a good chance its the rectifier regulator thats faulty
  10. best ask the person that fitted it if it had them before ,, or does the piston have washers either side of little end bearing
  11. this would of rose the cylinder improving it
  12. check if fan is working ,check impella on water pump for damage (make sure it turns when engine turns ) , check correct plug fitted , check brakes not sticking , check head and replace o rings or gasket which ever it has ,also make sure radiator core is clean and sound ,check colour of plug to ensure not running lean
  13. most kill switches wont work on a singing engine , make sure there is slack in throttle cable make sure slide is in correct and is capable of sitting right down so you cant see any air through it if it still does it its poss the main crank seals prob best to give carb a good clean out and check air filter before attempting to start
  14. floats in wrong maybe ,, you realy need to blow the carb out with an air line
  15. the 200 shafts and selector drum are all shimmed in the left case so would think yours are all shimmed from one side only ,gear selector i dont think is shimmed just the drum ,,if your changing crank mains then i expect the crank would need rechecking ,from what i can gather you will need to temporarily fit cases together with a gasket old one may be better tighten cases up and check for side to side movement on all shafts be carefull non are over shimmed when tightening as could put pressure on cases causing damage , i dont know the exact clearences but as long as there is slight movement it should be ok
  16. cant see it , i dont think his knee will be up to it as yet ,real shame
  17. can only suggest getting stator and cdi checked
  18. i think the threads would strip before this happens
  19. i would be more than happy at approx 400 miles , wheel bearings dont tend to last long ,,cant see over tightening of wheel will have any affect at all on bearing life as they arnt taper bearings ,life could be prolonged by removing inner seals and greasing inside hub also fitting of extra external dust seals would be good
  20. what you are thinking of is a rivet nut its a thread inserted like a rivet some body work shop garage or poss coach builders may have them or fabrication off road 4x4 specialist
  21. by what you are describing your shock damping side sounds fine ie it has resistance and returns in a controlled manner ,it sounds more like the problem is the spring not been strong enough either weakened or your quite heavy if spring hasnt had much use and should be in good nick i think you need an uprated spring
  22. i wear a flexible velcro fastening mx type just to keep my back supported and prevent injuring my back ,id say a must if you have any back aches or problems
  23. possible worn bushes bearings
  24. this may sound like a good idea but what is happening you are in a way changing the gear ratio so its like been in a lower gear but this needs more pull from the lever to equal the standard length of pull where can you gain this a further stuck out lever but then you need longer hands ,it sets off a chain reaction of problems
