pre 65 frame
I have both. The 'wasp' frame is beautiful the metalwork and brazing a thing to behold. Mine had holes in the wrong place required significant work to just bolt stuff on. It steered well but had zero grip. The Drayton is ready to go everything fits is easy to bolt up bike rides very easy.. it feels like cheating.

Yorkshire Classic Motorcycle Pre-unit Trial 27/8/17
proper trials.. a bloke in a check shirt.. too much lycra and garish modern gear with helmets more akin to motogp from some.. somber attire of tweed and a collared cotton shirt should be as important as a british carb.

Will cops now start targeting road trials.
sounds like its made up nonsense.. tyres are perfectly legal for road use in uk as long as they are inflated and have a mimum tread depth.. so yes its a made up story..

FIGURE 8...IS THIS RIGHT?
use the clutch and rear brake just like you d be shown if doing the cbt. do it all day long till you can do it without thinking..

Gearing Query - Beta Rev 3
i d think the 10 was plenty low enough for a beginner.. most sections you ll be able to ride in first and not even touch the clutch.. cclutch use is a skill you need so start now.. figure 8s in the drive are the order of the day.. when your the world champion in your drive.. find a smaller driveway..

BSA C15
months a lot and a lot should cover it.. simply the most expensive way to aquire a p65 bike by a significant margin.. all that would be useable would be forks frame engine..and all three would require modification.. and you d then end up with a converted road bike. buy a drayton frame buy an engine then buy everything else you would have had to buy to modify your c15 and you ll have a proper trails bike.

Beta evo 250 2017 second hand good idea??
a lampkin once said to me '' we re easy on bikes cos we ride over rocks not into them'' and theres a lot of truth in that. one trial bikes are abundent post ssdt, lads buy a brand new bike move it on post trial to take a grand loss but thats the penalty for riding a brand new bike.. you d probably spend more than that getting a year old bike fit for the ssdt. are you sure its just a 250?

Bantam trials info needed
one thing you ll find for bantams is that no two are jetted the same. however buy a set of jets and much and i mean much time later you can have a bike that runs as smooth as poured cream that ll pick up clean from stopped dead on a slope.. no big bang of power they were commuter bikes remember.. but enough to haul evenbig boned fellas around more than adequately.. mine is std b175 on pvl with drayton exhaust used 50:1 for last 5 years

Best shocks
spot on.. can you tell the difference.. spend 150 quid on the back end no more and get the front end working properly and you ll be away.. will another 250 quid make you dab less per trial?

Bigger tank alternatives for a Pampera?
pampera parts notorious hard to come by.. a fella once paid me 30 quid for a used bolt for the lower suspension as they are stepped and unobtanium.. great bikes though.. never had an issue with range i used mine on sammy millar and long distance trials

ACU Licence where your club is not ACU?
the only way to get an acu licence is to be a member of the acu via a club.. how macclesfield do it for free i do not know.. who pays the affiliation? after a quick google.. they do it looks like the club is registered like a business and the directors bear the losses and any profits not the members..

Difficulty with Rev 3 flywheel weight screws
impact driver.. use the right size driver head.. pretty sure they will be phillips not pozi drive.. lie bike on its side..give screws plenty of penetrating oil let it soak in for 10 mins then HIT the driver and they ll come out .. IF you have to drill them out.. dont use 8mm drill bit use a 5 or 6 and you ll save the threads..

Trials the safest motor sport
I m writning the risk assement for a classic trial literally at the moment.. i no elf and safety freak but i have had to stand in court and explain my actions lack of inaction.. and let me say right from the off.. not using a first aid kit because your scared of your legal status is absolutely no defence. a first aid kit is that.. purely to provide first aid on the spot. first aid kits contain no drugs. only bandages plasters cleaning wipes to prevent loss of blood.. blood keeps people alive.. loss of it is not good. alerting emergency services to your event its date schedule and loaction cannot ever be a bad thing.. briefing your observers on basics such as where the first aid kit is where the nearest a and e is where there is a survival blanket. are all small simple things that could literally save a life. how will it sound in a coronors court if an observer has to stand up and say.. i did nt have a first aid kit cos the organiser was scared of being sued ..
-
Trials the safest motor sport
too much complacency here for my liking.. when was the last time you saw even a basic first aid kit at a trial? when did you last hear that the local ambulance service had being notified of a trial in advance? when did you last see observers and riders briefed on what to do in an emergency? three simple basic things that could on that rare occasion save a life. that next tragedy could be this weekend or in twenty years only one thing is certain.. its coming. .

What to clean head with?
non metallic pad.. no liquid.. raise piston to top.. put a sear of vaseleine round edge to capture any debris.. and scrub away.. when finished lower piston and wipe away vaseline and debris with dry cloth.. wipe everything with thin clean oil.. sorted.

VNUK consultation closing, action needed
i ve signed but as neither the acu or the msa both of whom issue my licences have written to me expressing their concern and asking me to sign/ support i cannot see that it is important as is being infered.. on acu events i have compulsory third party insurance provided by the acu free of charge and the msa covers me to the same extent for a 30 odd quid an event supplement which seems fair.
