  1. InMotion are closed this week due to a staff member having to self isolate
  2. But, Pete you are about 4 stone soaking wet!
  3. A Scorpa SY250 with the Yamaha engine would be perfect for a beginner as it is nice and forgiving. Bonus is you should get a nice example for less than 2k
  4. Might be a bit harder to find, but a 350x18 used to availble
  5. I do the opposite! Heavy end in first, then front. What ever you find easiest I suppose
  6. A lot of the clubs down my way have limited number events (SE centre) 40-50 riders seems the norm and this in a lot of cases is due to restricted parking at venues because of the extra space that has to be left between vehicles. I am a member of 3 clubs, one in each of my bordering areas (SE, Southern and So Midland) and only one of the 3 have run any events as yet. Please bear in mind that a vast number of the organisers are older members (70+) and may not feel comfortable exposing themselves to a large number of people outside of their "bubble". It strikes me as being an ideal situation to get a few of the younger members to step up and run events until things settle down, maybe they will have a little more respect for the current organisers and appreciate the effort involved! I could probably join 1 or 2 more local clubs just to ride but I feel that is a bit silly in the long run. Faussy, have you tried calling the club secretary of you old club and talking to them? After all you are renewing and not a new member per se. I think the no new member thing is more aimed at my statement in the last sentence of the above paragraph.
  7. does this motor have dowels on the studs? Is so maybe the seal has been omitted
  8. Have you tried your local Yamaha dealer? They may be the same as some other model. Failing that, is there a US version of Yambits? Other than that Cambs Trials Centre in UK
  9. Is there a washer missing?

  11. Eurocarb nr Reading in UK
  12. You may struggle with the rear fender and air filters as they were peculiar to the 2000 and I think 2001 Revs. Ask me how I know!
  13. have you tried disconnecting the caliper hose at the master cylinder and trying the syringe? It will at the very least help pinpoint were the problem lies. I suspect that either the caliper itself or the master cylinder may be the problem.

    4RT to 4T?

Yeah it's hell undoing 3 bolts on a cover to access the oil filter on the Beta. Never had to adjust the valves on mine either, they were always within spec when checked
  15. Perhaps have a look at some of the twist scooter clutches?

    SPARK PLUGS?

    Some Pursangs had 2 plugs
  17. If there are drain plugs on the side near the bottom of the legs try using a longer bolt than the drain screw in and it with touch the bit that is turning. Nip it up but not too tight and you may be in luck
  18. Not me personally (yet, but lots of other work), but a chap in my club has had one replaced and was out for around a year. He is riding again but at a lower standard. ANother chap, 80 odd, had hip replacment and rode again.
  19. I may be wrong, but I thought I read somewhere the Mitas tyres weren't approved for trials use. Something to do with the block pattern/spacing. MT43 are used nowadays for trail riding/greenlaning, way too stiff compared to Michelin or IRC
  20. Can be done running, but we always used to do it with engine off. remove 10mm headed bolt from tensioner, slacken the 13-14mm nut (can't remember exact size was over 30 years ago!). we used a little threaded L shaped rod through the hole where the 10mm headed bolt went and it screwed into the bottom of the tensioner and then pull up. while holding up retighten the larger nut and then remove rod, replace 10mm headed bolt and job done. Sorry I cannot remember the exact size of the rod but recall it was made from an old spoke if that helps.
