It actually had a lower center of gravity and a short wheel base (as far as the earlier models) which meant it handled better. It has as much ground clearance as the modern bikes. Lack of understanding how to use the power vs blasting through a section is totally different styles. Nothing to do with winning or not.

The pilot jet is really the last filter for the pilot circuit. There are two exits on the pilot circuit that have to flow.

The `03 Raga was actually based on the `04 model. In `o4 most of the problems were fixed. The bike was and is lighter than most modern bikes today. The down side it is too powerful for the average rider, but quite fun! Good luck!

You are correct about the electric vs the gas powered bikes. The real bikes can run from sun up to sun down. I started my boy on a mini trial at 5 years old. He was a big boy. It lasted for a year. The autos are the same as the electrics, as after stopping not going again. It was a step up for the boy, but we ended up on TY80`s until he was big enough for a full wheeled 80. The trick on the TY was to gear it down enough the clutch did not matter. The Ty was then strong enough to pull any hill. Good luck with your son, it`s well worth keeping the boy riding. My son and I are loaded up and ready to leave in the early am for a weekend of trials. He is now seventeen and enjoys trials almost as much as I did at his age!

I ran dex3 in every year of Techno`s and most Rev3`s. I preffered it, and so did most riders. If you don`t mind clutch drag, use a good all around oil. Change often as it is cheap.

Stu at Jack`s cycles is more likely to actually get the order done promptly. Unfortunately you cannot get an order straight from American Beta unless found on their online store. They only deal through the dealer network. Extention de cuve.?. There was a carb extension used on the bowl of the Mikuni by some of the top riders. Never saw it did much good. Funny that article it came from then referred to the Billy T carb fix. Wish I could help more, but I have never dealt with American Beta. They are the third importers of Beta to the USA. I used to get Beta parts from the first two.
