The Sherco usually does not rattle. But any well used bike could. I had a beta that was only a few months old that the clutch would whine like hell. The bike was ridden very hard by an up and coming rider. Could just be grooves in the clutch basket.

I find most problems are brought on by the owner one way or another. Check out any of the forums that actually give on honest answer on what the end result of the problem was. The exception might be the electronics as they are almost all made in china now and the new style connectors seem to have constant connectivity issues. This includes the 4RT as they have issues that other bikes would never have. Otherwise every time a new model comes along is when the most complaints happen. Back to the question, no. Most of the bikes in the mid eighties were built better. TY Mono, RTL`s, TR34, Fantics.

You need to clean the choke circuit including the float bowl.

Beta USA trials team manager has ridden the 4T ever since it came out as the rev 4. Always without the tensioner.

You can run without them on most bikes.

The biggest problem I could see is changing elevation often. That is what I have issues with. From the way I understood it the mapping has to be changed, and it is not so simple to find a dealer.

You can always shift up with your heel.

I personally don`t care what helmet anyone wears. But a helmet should not give you more confidence to ride bigger obstacles. Your ability should be what gives you the desire and will to ride untried obstacles. Then again I started riding trials before helmets were required.

The MT43 came stock on all Aprilia Climber`s sold. The front was the best as it had a wider foot print. I have not ridden on a current one. Kind of wonder if something has changed as they are sold as street legal. Might be worth trying on my 348.

Plates are just stuck. Ride it around with the clutch pulled in, try a few small wheelies, hit the bakes, it will come loose. No parts needed.
