  1. I was watching a tape or the 1992 US WR in New York yesterday. No time limits in the sections. The stopping, balancing and waiting.............seemed to go on forever (very boring) I don't know how anyone finished these events. I guess the 1.5 minute rule was a good compromise.......but I still find No Stop better overall. From the look of the Section difficulty in Japan, I would think they were expecting rain.
  2. The fact that he's on a bike with a decent gearbox might have something to do with it.
  3. Earth to Motovita........is there anyone out there?
  4. Will someone in Scotland ck the 2 Americans Bikes and make sure they have footpegs... Looking at their score after day 2, I would think not.

Too bad that Coors Bottle isn't full.......I would offer 1 buck for all of it.
  6. Totally agree......lower class riders moving through sections using stop and hop.."trick riding" failing miserably and after encouraging them to try riding no stop, their ride is more often than not better...lower score. Years ago, after practicing a section numerous times, we used to temporally raise our clutch levers to an unusable position and retry the section. Very enlightening results and sometimes a good laugh.
  7. Of the dozen or so Utube No Stop Videos I have watched, seems like the minders have very little work to do.
  8. Agreed......From what I have seen from Japan WR U Tube Videos, I also like what I see. Stop and Hop almost seems like a different sport compared to the riding in Japan. But the section design also had a lot to do with it.....minimal set up needed, so not to much need for the riders to pause. And I didn't see any "stops" that would warrant a 5.
  9. A friend of mine described the Trans in these things as a "High Performance Nightmare" Some parts of a motorcycle shouldn't be compromised for the sake of light weight.

Pretty amazing as they haven't even started their European Adventure yet and they made the cover........who is their PR Man?!!!! Great Job and best of luck to both of them.
  11. I got half way thru it.....did it get any better?

Wow......not what I would think of in Scotland........looks like here in S. California.

Nothing against Ray, he's a great rider, but I also recall him struggling where the 125 riders seemed to be cruising thru.

Leave the Hawaiian shirt at home..........that's what got you in trouble in the first place
  15. They should put their helmets on their other heads.
  16. MX always seemed like a big Pit Party with a couple of 20 min. rides thrown in to give you a reason for being there....I guess that's OK, but if you want to ride with your kid.......and all day no less, Trials has MX beat by a by a country mile.

Not sure I would suddenly celebrate due to his "Tests" being clean..........I believe all of Armstrong's tests were clean.......except one.

You got that right 07.......thank god we only read his rants and no voice or volume involved. Never thought I would say it , but for once, I feel sorry for the (his) wife.
  19. Very nice examples for sure. Look better than new. Are you sure the Ti carb wasn't a Magnesium unit ??? Either way........very trick!
  20. ??Hey Billy........forget the Pentax......is that a Grand Prix your riding on???

Well I have to say that if this Bou Video is any indication of the future of "No Stop"....I am impressed. And how many times would you say he stopped?
  22. My hats off to Vesty.........his search continues for that Perfect Bultaco.

I can't believe I am reading this stuff....and twice no less. And those Canadians............they can be trouble!!!

I think stopping to advance your position is what the video is trying to discourage. Personally I would have scored over half the "5" rides as a clean and over time, checkers in this new era will score accordingly.
  25. I'd like to nominate "Sting32" to run the NATC
