I have a very tidy 350 Cota with the grey frame and "banana" swinging arm. The paint on the tank has inevitably bubbled because of the ability of fuel to weep through the tank material. I understand the tank is made from a kind of nylon but It seems to be self coloured a dull orange. I am guessing that if I strip the paint I might be able to polish the plastic. It wouldn't be right but I think it might be better than the anaglypta finish I have at the moment. Can anyone help? Colin Shaughnessy

  4. ...because I have always had a real softspot for them, always found them a good looking bike , have always liked Suzuki engineering and owned more than a few zooks...I like to add one to my fleet, look good sitting beside my GSXR-750WN. ...but looking at prices over the last few months tbey seem to be bit of a bargain compared to other twinshocks....what dont I know? There always used to be a fair few doing the rounds in Kent back the day...Cliffe Marshes etc.

Any help gratefully received. I have recently taken apart my forks on My KT250 to replace the seals and found no springs inside. sourced some new springs, but didnt realise they were so small and they are in two parts. Looked at an exploded diagram of the forks and it seems there are a lot of gubbins inside that I havent got either, spacers and the likes. Can anyone help with this because I am not sure how they line up inside or what else is needed. I have a workshop manual, but it doesnt help much really

A bit of advice or your views needed I have a 1982 Godden framed Majesty 175, which I fancy riding in a Twinshock classes at club Trials and maybe progressing further if I like it or my results are good enough. The bike is mechanically very sound and everything works fine, with all maintenance up to date with everything replaced as necessary. I've never trialled it, just ridden a few times at a practice ground. Cosmetically it's pretty good also with all the correct Majesty modifications and parts, the wheels were already respoked and fitted with new rims, plus IRC tubed tyres. It has a SM chromed front pipe (which some say produces more torque.......does it?) and new F…

Hi to all, Now i`ve got the bike to go forward and stop reasonably well, I find that a mod that I will benifit from is New Footrests/pegs. Simply I need something that will just bolt on to the exsisting lug. Not able to even saw or angle-grind the lugs off is there a quick fix simple footpegs that anyone can recommend? The other factor to me is i`ve got size 11 boots and the original pegs are so small, hope to find pegs that have a larger platform if that is the word? Seen some on ebay and race-spec catalogue (2004) around

Hello Everybody I need some help to sort out my 348 Cota. I don't ride it that often but when I try to it will just not start unless I take the plug out, pour a bit of two stroke down the plug hole and then it will go revving its dinger off for about 30 seconds and will settle down to normal revs. Once it is warm it will start first kick every time. I suspect that it is sucking air in somewhere but have no idea where. It does not like choke to start and runs fine after it settles down. I replaced crank seals, rings, bearings, ect, ect, recently, points and timing are spot on, had the carb (Amal) reconditioned but just does not like a cold start. Any help much appr…

Next round coming up - 28th September Run by Hillsborough club Hillsborough - a club with a wealth of experience and a reputation for running good events. Proper trials in proper trials country. Home of the Jack Wood, Normandale rounds, River Kwai, the legendary DT Venue is Ughill, not too far from Sheffield, head out west on the A57 towards Glossop and turn right into trials heaven. Where the old Sebac and then Falcon rounds used to be run in the 90s. Happy days, entries of 100 plus riders on twinshocks and Pre65. Now, at last, a chance to ride there again in a twinshock event. So what's going on? Entries appear to be a bit on the slow side dropping through the secre…

Greetings all! Ater months of waiting, my KT 250 project is about to get under way! I'm starting with 2 semi complete bikes that I'm certain will be enough for 1 rider. As the bike is going to be ridden, I'm planning on rattle can painting the tank (unless I get my powder coat setup done), as well as painting the frame to match the tank. I saw a great photo of one on this site that featured a lay down suspension setup for the rear. A buddy of mine can do this, so my question would be where to locate the upper mount and how much gusseting? I'm thinking about positioning the mount so that the stock length shock will be appx. a half an inch longer thinking tis will help th…

Hi all, i`m trying to trace the history of my 83/84 armstrong hiro. Its head and barrel have been drilled both front and back?? and it has been fitted with number holders on the silencer and left seat rail. Its reg is A504 UAE if anyone recognises it or can help. Its a fit old bike with loads of grunt and once I get the leaking tank sealed i`ll be using it instead of my fantic so it would be good to know its history.

Hello Twinshockers Something for the cold evenings at home. I was riding on 15 January a AFATA Twinshock Trial Luxeuil in France, see their webpage for more info: http://philmarg.club.fr/index.htm I wrote a report with pics on our club homepage (needs ADSL highspeed, because I put many pics and some clips on it). It's in German, but the pics are "jpg". Before the Trial I visited a nice Museum of Joel Corroy, Scottish Pre65 rider http://www.twnclub.ch/classic_trial_files/...Luxeuil2006.htm the Trial is on the next page: http://www.twnclub.ch/classic_trial_files/...xeuil2006_2.htm I don't know about Twinshock events in UK, but I think not winning or riding the best…
