  1. I see from the coverage on Facebook and ACU, that this last weekend's Devon round, had only 1, yes.......a single Championship Class rider and that was Iwan Roberts What is going on ? (I know Covid) The Trial2 and Trial Expert Classes & Trial 125 were well supported So is this what the British Championship has become? Too many classes, no blue riband British Champion?

Hi folks, Looks like I am gonna be moving to the oxford area (either wallingford or walters ash, just north of high wycombe) in the early part of next year and I was wondering if there was much going on down that way? In lincolnshire at the moment I can pretty much get a trial every weekend (travelling an hour and a half max), is it the same down there? Is there any road trials at all? Cheers in advance Spike

With the rising popularity of Twinshocks and Aircooled Monos in UK Trials, with separate classes and the Kia Championship, does anyone think it will be extended for early watercooled Monos, say pre 1995, in the future Say Aprillia Climber/Beta Synt/Yam TYZ and the like?

What's your thoughts on this... Apparently at a trader level there's currently a boom on those roadies buying into off roaders - trouble is they're Enduro/Trail/MX and not Trialsters. Witnessed this first hand yesterday, a group of lads I know have all parked the Hypersports bikes for the winter and are now buzzing round on big trailys. They have a very different view on the countryside to me and you - 'Ride it until you get caught', 'its just a bit of fun' and 'Who's gonna catch me on a 640, eh ?' These are normally responsible people (late 30s), who seem to have gone totally native since getting on the dirt - I have tried explaining how 'green lanes' work and that…

Should have been nine of us out today but a few did nt turn up, pic is of 4, 06 270's and a Cabestany rep, should have been 8 Betas instead. Fantastic day, rode for 8 hours nothing stupid just some great sections and a good laugh. Met up with a couple of local lads for an hour or two on Shercos, dont know how lucky you are living with this lot in your back garden. About 400 Enduros there again, but no burger van this time unfortunately. Bike rode really well and no popped plugs so maybe the resistor in the plug is causing the problem after all? Hoping to actually do a trial somewhere next weekend, anyone know where a good one is on aprox 70 mile radius of Oxford. ..

The outcome of a government consultation on a piece of EU insurance legislation could end motorsport in the UK. Yesterday, the Government issued a document for public consultation, which gives an option of implementing the European Court decision known as the ‘Vnuk judgment’. The ruling makes it compulsory for anyone using any form of motorised transport to have third party damage and injury insurance. This will affect all participants in all forms of motorsport. The insurance industry has made it clear to government that third party risks for motorsport activities are uninsurable, not least because of the sheer number of potential vehicle damage claims that woul…

Is it time to consider changing the rule regarding trials on remembrance sunday. Do other sports and events not run on this date or is it just motorsport? Do shops shut? Does everyone else not do what they want on this date? Surely it would be better to run charity events on this date, have a minutes silence at the start at 11am and raise some money for good causes. Evening all - I just want to know what you all think about the alarmingly popular habit of queue jumping? The reason I ask is that I have done a few trials recently where certain riders seem to think it is perfectly acceptable to snort off to the front of the "field", tear-ar*e around the lap of sections, bypass any queues and gain an advantage by riding sections out of sequence. I guess you lads up north don't see any harm in this when the sections are rocky and don't deteriorate. However, South of Birmingham where mud is the norm, roaring off round a course like some demented enduro rider, completing 3 laps in the time it takes most other riders to properly ride one la…

  19. At our Stourbridge trial on Saturday only 14 riders turned up, even allowing for the current economic climate etc this was a very disappointing turn out I know there was a centre trial on the Sunday but i understand earlier in the week only 16 riders had entered for this event While we understand that we will probably never see the return to our 40-50 rider average entry there must be something we can do to increase our entries to something near a breakeven figure. The next Stourbridge trial will be late April early May at Hanley Childe and those of you who know how good the venue is will also know how much work is needed to put a trial on there. In an effort to inc…

Rode in the Leamington Victory round of the Midland Centre Group trials championship today starting at Earlswood near Birmingham. Between the third and fourth groups of sections the police were stopping bikes to check for tax, Insurance and number plates. One rider was collared for not diplaying a tax disk on his Beta Rev4 (possibly a first?) A number of riders were caught without tax and ordered back to the start by the shortest route! One or two others heard about the check and made their way to the next sections via a covert diversion! Apparently a local had telephoned the police to complain about motorcycles riding through the village without any number plates! …
