Hi, Does anyone know the year Mike came second in th Pre 65 please? Is there a history of the Pre 65 and the SSDT?

Does anyone know how the new dinner stop arrangement works. It says in the entry paper work that lunch is included. Is it still the burger van? Or are we all off to the local hostelry for a pub lunch

Those of you in Scotland will be only too aware of the Suzanne Pilley murder enquiry that is ongoing at the moment. For those of you who don't know, investigations have led police to Glen Croe and the Rest And Be Thankful on the A83, to the north west of Loch Lomond. They're appealing to any SSDT enthusiasts who may have been in the area on Wednesday 5th May....our route didn't go anywhere near there, but there will have been quite a few folk on the road during the week, so if you were anywhere near that area on the Wednesday, please take a couple of minutes to check out our article on www.ssdt.org. Has the SSDT lost it ? yes a full entry but , A week to go and nothing no posts or build up .The last post march 16 and that was about Honda .When i was riding the trial all 20 of them there was a buzz about it but nothing now ! Has it gone the same way as the named nationals of old, forgot and just another trial ? . Look at photos of old 5 deep of spectators now look 50 if lucky. People dont even want go and watch . A total lack of build up for the ssdt

.....I'm WALKING it! In order to raise money for some very deserving Scottish charities a team of 4 of us are taking part in the RBS Caledonian Challenge walking 54 miles across SSDT territory in 20 hours. Setting off at midday we will carry on walking through the night, with the route taking us from the start about 10 miles north of Fort Willaim, down to Fort William, up Glen Nevis, down into Kinlochleven, up Pipeline, over the Devil's staircase, across Glencoe moor and all the way down to the banks on Loch Lomond. I noticed on the Friday provisional results page Amos Bilbao is showing as a retired rider. Does anyone know what occurred which forced his retirement today?

At Chairlift on Thursday morning a friend of mine loaned me his pristine Yamaha pressure gauge & unfortunately I proceeded to loose it somewhere between the bottom of the first section & the begin cards of the 3rd section. Is there anybody out there that can help me replace this item?

A lad was telling me the other day that a 19" front tube will still stretch to fit the front but works better than a 21" on the rear if you need it. Anyone know if it works or not ? would make sense to carry one of them round if it does.

Here we go then; like many I am now counting off the days to the Scottish again. I.ve been participating in a conversation on f.Book regards splitting our sport into 2 ..the trick riders and the no stoppers...phew . During the course of this the issue of interpretation of the rules came up and the SSDT was used to highlight how trick riding rear wheel floating, even stopping with the footrest propping you up has been witnessed and how it should be should be interpreted. As it happens I am nowadays one of the guys making these decisions 275 times a day for 6 days. I was hoping a few of you SSDT vets, could point me in the right direction as far as getting my bike through scrutineering. What does my bike need to have to pass? As it stands, I don't have light's, speedo or side stand. I am aware that I need a side stand and speedo, however, can I get away with a cheap speedo from halfords? Also do I need a horn? Basically I'm not wanting to spend too much money, and from the price list for the speedo, wiring loom, horn and lights, it starts to get a wee bit pricey. cheers.

Just been listening to the news re the shutting down of Scotlands petro chemical plant, and apparently people are panic buying, some forecourts are empty of fuel Will this have any direct affect on the SSDT?

Well, I just happened to be talking to my dad about the legend that is Eddie Lejeune and he said to me "one min" and walked out the room , he came back with 30 odd pictures that he took of the SSDT in 1982, up until now I had never seen any of these pictures ! What a numptey! Any way, for the past hour or so I have been scanning them in , so I can post them on here for people to see. I've decided to help the Make-A-Wish Foundation which aims to grant magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening illnesses while i attempt this years SSDT. I know a lot of people are struggling financially right now, so only donate if you can.
