  2. As TMX were a little shy I though't I'd post this on here Mr Roger Harvey Williams, the Stockton Stallion, clevelands answer to George Clooney no less, won the Twin Shock class at the Peak trial and secured his first British Championship. No doubt he's still talking about it and looking forward to those championship winners get togethers in the years to come with Dougie, Graham, Steve Colley, Steve Saunders and friends. I understand he will NOT be moving to Switzerland for tax reasons congratulations mate.

  4. Started by Niro,

Being "vintage" myself, I decided to go the vintage path in trial bikes. (Innately I asked about 90's Fantic, and received helpful information, but I think my heart is the vintage design and look) By vintage I mean air cooled bikes. I'm 6'0 tall and weight about 165lb. Looking for a fun trail bike to learn the basic and maybe in the future to participate in the category of vintage trials bike races. My main concern is getting spare parts for the bike. I'm locate in the US. From what I read the main 2 option are Yamaha TY125 or Honda TLR reflex. From the to option above- any year engine combo recommendation? Did I miss other bike option? …

Hi there,I'm having trouble getting my KT 250 to run properly. It sounds when revved like it's gassed up and dosn't rev cleanly. I have had the crank seals replaced, had the carb overhauled by Motocarb Liverpool, had the timing checked, changed the spark plug, renewed the air filter (runs no different with filter in/out and checked the exhaust for blockage. There is plenty of compression but going to do a proper check tomorrow, and it starts up fine.I am running on pre mix at 50:1 using castrol 747 2 stroke oil I don't know what to look at next.Any tips, pointers ,ideas etc would be greatly appreciated as I'm dying to get out on her after buying and bringing her over from USA.…

  8. Hi I want to remove two rusty, seized 6mm exhaust studs from a 45 year old Honda 4 stroke alloy barrel, as I need to install longer ones. I have soaked them in WD40 for 2 weeks. I have also heated the studs to cherry red. I then tried turning them, using two locked nuts, but they won't turn. I am afraid they will shear off if I put any more pressure on them. They are not currently snapped off, so I don't need to drill them out. However, I do want them out. What to do? Anyone have experience of doing this? Thanks

Hi everyone. I have a trials tiger cub running a 14 tooth front sprocket and a 64 tooth rear sprocket and a 428 chain. The gearing is perfect for trials but I had a plan do some occasional green laning so my thoughts was to replace the rear sprocket with a 52 tooth for green lanes and revert it back to the 64 tooth for trials. On fitting the 52 tooth rear sprocket the chain was touching the top of the swing arm pivot point. Even with me sitting on the bike and compressing the suspension the chain was still slightly touching. With the 64 tooth sprocket fitted there is a 7mm gap. I guess that the other option is to replace the front sprocket for a larger one (such as a 17 t…

Hi, I have a Cotton Starmaker trials bike and need to have the wheels rebuilt. Can anyone advise me as to what sort of rims I should fit - S/S , Alloy or chrome ? Also should I fit chrome or s/s spokes? Thank you.

  15. Started by wallo,

So just got the entry list for the Sam Cooper trial, and all I can say is "where have all the big bike gone?" I counted 4 out of an entry of 76. How come 2 out of the top 3 in the Pre 65 Scottish were Ariels and you always get a big turn out at the Talmag, do these bikes get wrapped up in cotton wool for the rest of the year?

Hi guys and galls, I've just been reading an old post about the classic Jack Wood 'River Kwai' section and all the stories that went with it and it got me thinking back about other classic sections from days gone bye, like 'Tremorithic' in the 'Wye Valley Traders' it was a cracking section in a fantasic trial (one of the best IMHO). If you didnt get up the step you had to be hauled up by two or three blokes using a rope and grappling hook, it made 'Witches Burn' look like a main road. It was 3rd gear from a standing start and slippery as hell, if you did manage to get up the step I think there were 3 more sections waiting for you straight after. Happy days

hello, i would like some imput on this, im in th U.S. iv proposed a new class to be added for ITSA, in a nut shell, it would make a class for air cooled single shock bikes built before 1990, iv heard that some of the Euro clubs havd been doing this with good results, without getting to deap in how i set the class, i would like to know who well it worked, and if any what were the problems, so i can adjust the guidelines for the class, and present it to the powers that be. mind you, no new sections ect, this will just bring these bikes off the trail, and out of the Garage, and let them be played with again like they should be, and keep them from being cut into twin s…
