OK I'm going to say it..AVGAS. Dirty word I know and I know Im doing a Clarkson and destroying the planet but a little bedtime reading of the ACU regs says its legal for competition? It's been 35 years since I ran 2 stokes and assume I can run a 75 250 on it {what mix are you using?]. Avgas 100LL is basically the old 5 star back in the 70's . Discuss Graham

Restoring a 199B bultaco for twin shock competition and curious if converting to the type of rim that uses the external type spoke as opposed to the through the rim type spoke would be an advantage?

Has anybody any opinions on using E5/E10 petrol in a TY125? My son has been restoring one and is at the point of (fingers crossed) starting it up, but the question of running an old two stroke bike with E5 or E10 petrol has come up.. None of the companies websites are clear (e.g. Esso, Shell) whether any of their fuel is guaranteed ethanol free (e.g. Synergy Supreme+ 99 which in some areas has ethanol in, some not..), so I wondered what the general opinion is? In theory Oxfordshire (where he lives) should have ethanol free Synergy Supreme+ 99, but I'd rather he not be a guinea pig..

Anyone know what this is? The fact it has moulded twin shock and exhaust side panels makes me think it is not a home made job??...Honda engine and tank...but is it a Honda? Don't think so? All and any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I have acquired a 74 TL125 with a Chinese carb, and the OEM junk carb. Some research I did a long time ago said that a mid 70's XR 75 Carb was the same just jetted differently, anyone know of a better option or have one to sell?

Hi Folks, I'm an ex Midland centre ex pat living in Australia and need a bit of help with my Cub forks. At the moment they are heavy duty forks with external springs and very little suspension movement. I don't have the knowledge of what Cub owners are fitting to their bikes in UK but keep seeing the words "trick forks". I know guys are fitting all sorts of internals but I don't have the facilities to carry out these mods myself . Can anyone help with a pair of modified forks to fit standard Cub yokes and front wheel please. I'm happy to pay the market price and all expenses including postage to Australia. I have an old aluminium gas tank that looks like it was not used for many years. I poured out some stinky gas, filled with fresh gas and shook it periodical for a couple of weeks to clean it out. After draining and drying, I can see sort of a layer of solidified gas lining some of the bottom. The petcock must have had a slow leak because it is covered with what looks more like dried tree sap than dried gas. Are there any solvents that will remove this? A non hazardous one would be nice but not required. I can also see that there are a couple of pin holes close together. Has anyone had luck with using epoxy to spot treat pin holes?

I already had it for a while, but long waiting for parts and a broken CDI unit kept it from running. Now that it's running i am as proud as a monkey with 4 reproduce tools 😀 Hope they will add an extra pre90 class in classic trial.

Hi, I just joined up. I have restored two Suzuki TC120'S. A 69 one and a 71 one. I was quite fasinated to read the information about the Peter Gaunt ones and others. Having played about in the rough and in woods on the normal TC I was well impressed, I would love to play about on a trials version. Even sat down on the little TC it pulls well in low ratio and climbs well. I would like to build one and have a chat and pick the brains of someone who has one or knows about them. I have kind of read all I can find on the net. Specifically, do you need the T200 triple tree as well as the forks?, or is it the b120 tree. Also I believe there are alternatives. I tried…

Hi all, I have a '55 US model G80CS pretty original condition that I ride regularily in Historic bike club rallies and rides. I have been doing modern trials for a year now, and feel like my skills are at the point where I can trust myself on an 'old bike' without the fear of trashing it too much. Do people ride the early Challengers in Classic Trials? They were a light 250 bike in their time, and with a big sprocket, I was wondering how they might work with that leading link front suspension. Bars might be a bit wide, but that can be changed. Greeves may have built a better Trials bike in 1964, but the Challenger seems like it could be good... with a few changes. What do you guys think? Being "vintage" myself, I decided to go the vintage path in trial bikes. (Innately I asked about 90's Fantic, and received helpful information, but I think my heart is the vintage design and look) By vintage I mean air cooled bikes. I'm 6'0 tall and weight about 165lb. Looking for a fun trail bike to learn the basic and maybe in the future to participate in the category of vintage trials bike races. My main concern is getting spare parts for the bike. Hi all, Have just acquired the remnants of a b40wd. Was sold to me as a Stafford but having had those in the past I was sure the frame was different. Have found the frame number B40GB 3213 which leads me to believe it is a wd B40 issued to the UK army in 1969. The only original bits appear to be the rear wheel and the frame itself so I am thinking of creating a trials/green lane type thing. I have read a few articles on this and it seems that the wd bikes are particularly suited to this, or am i mistaken?
