I decided to remove and check the carb on my new-to-me Evo 300 4T. I wasn't totally happy with the way it ran on my first practice day so I went diving in to see if I could find anything wrong. Just understanding the thing is the main problem. I've got the table of settings and the factory parts list, but I'm struggling to understand which part is which in a few cases. First off, the tables gives the start jet as a 60 and the slow jet as 17.5 or 27.5. However the parts list calls the jets that are 17.5 - 30.0 the starter jet! I'm hoping that's a mis-translationas the Italian version calls it a getto minimo (as opposed to the main jet which is getto massimo). …

My Opinions Like:- The new top yoke The new silencer guard(looks less brittle) Don't like:- The red plastics (prefered the 06 black) Doesn't appear to be any frame decals like 06 and the swingarm ones aren't up to much) Any thoughts anyone...?

I sold my '99 GAS GAS 321 a couple of weeks ago. It gave me seven years of outstanding service. I bought the bike after watching Mark Manniko ride one at the Temecula National. I was in love ...with the bike...you gutter heads! Anyway it's been a long time since a bike has caught my attention like that 321. That's why I kept riding it for seven years, it's was a terrific bike. Then all the fuss started about the Sherco 320 and now the new Beta Rev 4T. I began wading through those 25+ pages about the Beta, then I saw the pics. Man, I'm lusting again. Don't know why, never really considered a thumper, but something about the way it looks just sitting there.…

Hi All I know this title has been asked before but not quite what I have on my bike. the bike is fine on tickover & fine reving out of gear & fine just riding about but when I ride up long steep banks or put the engine under allot of strain it feels like something is rattling. its not all the time but enough for me to start worrying about it. Its feels like a stone being dragged under the front mudguard & ratting through & it sounds exactly the same, but its not. Any ideas please? thanks

I am thinking about getting a second hand Beta rev 4 2008. Are there any problems with this bike ie stators? I did a search and someone asked the same question seem to be some problem with kickstarters and maybe gearbox problems but overall everyone said there rev4 was still going strong is that still the case. I rode a 2008 rev3 250 i liked it. Is there that much of a different between the rev4 and the evo4? I am only a clubman /c grade rider I don't need a powerful bike.

I have a Beta rev 3 (2002) can someone tell me the timing settings in Degrees from TDC. Just rebuilt bike - bike is four stroking at 1/2 revs, eliminated carburettor, as tried another, need to eliminate timing/ignition possibilities prior to jumping in and buying a new stator!!!!!!! Cheers Paul

I'm new to trials and am looking for a "starter" bike. A dealer who specializes in Trials bikes has a 1991 Beta Zero 260. Price is @ $1800US. He backs all his used bikes and rates this one as "8.5 Mechanical". I'm inclined to purchase from a dealer - especially a one specializing in trials bikes - rather than from an individual. How does this model stack up as a bike to start out on?

  10. Thanks to people on this forum I purchased a brand new 2015 beta evo 2t 300, I am very happy with the bike but I quickly developed an oil leak from the right hand fork leg. Cleaning "under the seal" with a photographic film did not help, therefore I had to replace the faulty seal. Dealer is too far away so I had to do the work myself. Now this is first time I ever opened up the motorcycle fork even though I do a lot of work on my bikes myself, beforehand I read several forum threads about the topic to familiarize myself with the work to be done. I strongly believe I made the assembly correctly after replacing the seal. My question is regarding the measuring oil le…

I just purchased a 2012 beta Evo 300 4t. I have not been riding trials very long and had a jotagas 300 previously. I purchased the beta on its condition and had never ridden a 4t trials bike. Well it was a revelation I did not ride for 2 months or so as had a shoulder injury, but went straight to a trial without ever riding the beta. I was like a kid on Christmas unloading when I got to the trial, signed on then off to the 1st section, i normally ride sportsman and going to go clubman next year, it was a 1 route trial set up fairly easy and the weather had been kind. I had a walk of the 1st section then I was the 1st rider to open the section. Having …

I came across this short video clip on YouTube of the new 4T the quality of the video is poor, and the duration is short, but from what I can tell Beta did an excellent job of keeping the noise down. It sounds like it revs quickly, a lot like the sherco 3.2 or scorpa sy250f... I'm very curious if the rev-4t will be as competitive at the highest levels as the rev-3 270...

Nice one Dougie tied the leaver and got my kit on hmmm. It worked a treat the clutch was freed almost right away. Well I can live with that mate. Had an afternoon of riding at bradfield with a mate. one section crossed the river .All well and good until I took a wrong turning in the water and ended in deep trouble, When I say deep it was the best part of 4ft deep. Dont know about yours but my Beta cant swim... After a struggle we managed to get it back to life with no apparent damage. How was rochdale on sunday ? cheers Leggins p.s riding the hillsboro trial on sunday at dean head farm cant wait.

Hi I have a couple of problems with the rear brake 1) when it's wet or wet and muddy it doesn't work, is this the pad material or what ? any suggestions or make of pads that work wet, muddy or dry, I have tried Galfren, Galfer and EBC. 2) to get the caliper pistons to push back I have to open the bleed nipple, is this normal ? (I don't have to do this on the front caliper), surely when the pistons are pushed back the fluid should just go back to the reservoir, any ideas why ?. Keith

I plan to give my bike a rebuild for the summer and was looking for anything to look out for, anything important to make sure i do etc... I've never rebuilt a bike before, but I do do regular mainteance. I am not sure what type of fluids to clean the frame up with, WD40 something like that? Grease, another big question, what needs greasing, where and what type of grease? I don't know how to get the steering stock off, and where does it need greasing? I plan to put a grease nipple on the headstock, do I do it with the steering stock in or out, and where is the best place to put the nipple? Is it the big nut on the top? Also do I need to threadlock all the nuts, or is there…
