  2. Hi everyone!... Long story short, Ive been riding biketrials since i was a teenager and stunting sportbikes for 7 years, I have the trials motorbike itch installed in my mind since i knew about its existence. Planets have aligned and im waiting for a Beta EVO 300 2013 as my first real trials motorbike... I have no natural spots to ride here, its all plain-soft ground all around 400kms... So.... Ill have to make my own obstacles... It would help me a lot if you guys could describe, list or post pics of MUST HAVE obstacle to make my learning process as efficient, fun and safe as possible... I have access to pallets, cable drums of all sizes, drums, and used tyres of a…

I'm getting ready to go out in a bit and need some inspiration. I've got to the point I can lift the rear wheel consistently by compressing the suspension, applying front brake on rebound, then pushing the bars down and about the front wheel. I'm having trouble getting the back to get any kind of lateral movement though. Tips please!

Bear in mind I have only been riding less than 3 months, but I'm struggling with these rocks.. I dont know If I'm attacknig it wrong, my body position is wrong or what, On the second one It was near perfect if I hit my brakes, I'm only attempting the 3 rocks and the forth up the top I've been avoiding so far until I get it right with this. I've tried and tried and cant seem to get it right, and I have a huge fear now of falling off and injuring myself doing it which makes it all the more as I have to swallow my bottle and just get on with it. I've tried to give as many techniques as I could in some of the videos, practice different things, even put a few of my falloffs s…

I completely understand that there is no replacement for getting out on your bike and riding. but what are the best exercises, you can do in the gym through the week to help your fitness for riding at the weekend ? cardio? Strength training? Interval training? Combo?

So today I went out on the bike for the first real time. And tbh it scared me senseless ... I was just doing figure 8s and I was fine riding circles, could balance no probse but I then used 2nd gear and a few more revs to move off .. front lurched up and I felt totally out of control after nearly coming off the back. Properly had the shakes after and couldn't get back on it. Now I'm worried I've made a mistake trying it .. can anyone help / share their advice or experience? Did you all start the same ? Steve

  7. Hello Guys, I've just started trialling after spending a few years racing cars and I've got a big hang up telling me that I'll never be able to trial. I haven't ridden a trial bike before and it seems totally different to a road bike or Motorcross bike. I feel like I need to control the power with my clutch for one. Can anyone tell me where you went wrong and how did you get it right? Cheers Dean

This may be a simple one (but that's why I'm asking). I'm a novice (been riding enduro for a few years) and I think I've got really poor throttle control. It may be because I'm very left handed but I work the clutch all the time and perhaps use it to make up for lack of throttle control. I've already fitted a slow action throttle. So - Are there any good drills for developing throttle control? Any pointers for when to stay off the clutch? Thanks.

EDIT: New progress video (filmed on Thursday) https://youtu.be/5W1FZOQqGi0 EDIT: Most recent progress video https://youtu.be/t4Y9m8tEYdo Hey guys! So the amount of crossover between trials and enduro seems debatable, but I'm a huge fan of both. Unfortunately, I can't afford a trials bike right now. So recently I have been working on a technique I believe to be called 'double blip'. I wasn't sure the difference between that and jap zap. Pretty much, I would like to get better at blipping to wheelie, punch obstacle with front wheel as I drop the clutch. I'm not too concerned with actually getting any rear wheel lift before …

I know there is no substitute for learning to ride a trials bike other than actually riding it. But, for those times when I am stuck in the house. What is the best training DVD for beginners? So far I am lead to believe that the Ryan Young DVD is the best, but it is very expensive.

Well i got out and gave it a go today. I still have some setup issues like the bars feel too low and the suspension bottoms too easily and feels too slow in the rebound.. Might need different springs. Anyway i went up behind my house and tried a few double blips. Laughing because it seemed like i was going so slow and looking at the video i think i was still going too fast. The second one was the best i think. I set the front tire on top of the rock even though i was aiming for the face. The on top technique feels more natural so i might concentrate on that for a while before i go back to bashing the face. Despite what ive read all over the place, i still wasnt ready for …

Does anyone have any tips for splatting big objects? 99% of people will tell me all you need is balls and to just rev the engine and dump the clutch, Ive got the balls (and the stupidity) and quickly realised that theres alot more to it than that. Im looking to get as much lift as possible from my splats, currently trying them using a kicker but not getting the desired height from it. My usual technique for rocks is punching the front wheel into the rock to get that "spring" effect, this seems the work great for me but I cant seem to get over anything more than 5ft using it. any advice is welcome! All the best Tom

Do you ride with a finger covering each lever all the time? Or only when you actually need to? I reckon that ideally you'd have them covered all the time so your not changing grip. What's best?

Hi all. As the title says..... Sometimes my clutch finger locks out straight. Which at the top of a big blast up a hill can be a problem, resulting in some unsightly mess sometimes. Does this happen to anybody else? What the f... am I doing wrong?

  19. Hi guys, its been 2 days since i ride this no-seat bikes and find really uncomfortable with stock levers, specially the clutch... Ive been riding bycicle trials, stunting sportbikes and riding enduro with chopped levers. where I just operate the levers with my index finger... Pros that found are... -You dont pinch your other 3 fingers with the lever -As you will be woriking the lever closer to the bar, with almost a closed fist stance. wou will be using a stronger muscle group (1st flange, rather than 2nd and 3rd for non chopped) for working the clutch and front brake gives you less cramps and is more precise to control under stressful rides -Lowers the chance of a b…

I live in Leeds, but will be in Scarborough most weekends until June this year. Where is a legal place to ride in/ very close to Scarborough. I do not want to join a club out there, just want some where to have a play. Cheers
