Hi, I'm sure this question has been asked a million times but here it is again. Bike running perfectly and decided to fit a new magnetic kill switch. Easy peasy, unplug the old one from the CDi side and then swap the earth/ground over from old to new. It was pre wired for terminals. Now no spark and I have checked every wire under the tank for breaks, not being connected, etc. NOTHING I have a multi meter but not the small probes to check resistance in the CDi multi plug Can anyone help please?

I have been corrupted by my buddy Biff. I am thinking that my next bike will be a gas gas 300 pro. Now if I were to convince my lovely and understanding wife to allow me to purchase said bike, what year would be a solid, good performing, well balanced, reliable, near industructable (yep I know no bike is) machine??? Oh I forgot to mention that I am cheap.... I mean frugal minded. Thanks

Well that got your attention... I had a nice trip down to Devon last week and stayed at the Bikers Rest. Had a great time with the 20 acres of so of wood and streams. Highly recommended. I met some other bikers down there and one was on a 03 Beta. We swapped bikes (I have a 01 280 GG). The first thing that grabbed my attention was the power delivery, it was so smooth compared to my 280. Not necessarily better, but very different. The next thing was the rear suspension. It felt soft, smooth and wonderful. Any ideas as to why the Beta rear suspension felt so much better than the GG. best wishes, Rob.

Hi guys. Just bought a 1994 125 in good faith. Got it home. Noticed it wouldn't idle. Cleaned jets. Sorted. Left it running and coolant was spilling out from the filler cap. So the fan isn't running. Also there is a rattle from the engine, and it won't select the gears, I'm thinking this is linked to the rattle. Any advice would be great. can I buy repair and service manuals? Thanks. Paul

Did a search but cldnot find a satisfying answer. Finally i want to split the cases of my 2002 pro gasgas, as i have this gear shifting problem. The problem is back shifting from 3rd to 2nd. And a grinding noise when in 4th. But now my question. Can i leave the clutchside untouched/intact, so waterpump/clutch, when i do the splitting. So basically i only have to remove the flywheel, and i can split it? What about the crankcase fit to the bearings? Is it a loose fit, or cold/warm pressed fit? Ps: i am editing this topic to make it more interesting(hopefully) for everybody. From now on, i will be making pictures of the stripped down engine and asking everybody to joi…

Well the rumor is that Gas Gas will have a new frame(again!). This time it's Jotagas like. Presumably that means a switch to Aluminium?

Does anyone know whether the clutch pack from the 06's are a straight fit for earlier machines? I need a new pack for my 04 but i'm sure i read that the 06 clutches were less fussy about the width of the pack and gave less noise. Thanks in advance, Roy.

Hi guys I'm trying to remove the thermostat to replace as I'm still not confident the fan is working as it should but am having difficulty. Top right of radiator - I've removed the cir-clip holding the thermostat in. I've tried pouring hot water down the gaps to help free up the o-ring. Still the thing will not budge. I wanted to check on here first before I give it too much just in case there was any tips / technique to removing. Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers James

Recently bought a 2014 Replica and read that the spring is rated for a 70kilo rider so my question is, what's the merits in buying a heavier rated spring as I'm 96ish kilos, though bearing in mind I ride clubman and not very well at that.

my bike has been stored for almost a year and in november i finally got the rear tire fixed, not as id like it though, and i hopped on to see if all was good and the clutch was beyond horrible. i let out all the adjustment then bled it twice. it is barley better now. now all the adjustment is taken up and the master cylinder (its an AJP) hits the stop point and at that point the clutch is disengaged just enough to come to a stop with out killing it. the running is very bad and is almost as if i had the clutch out. how can this be fixed? should i bleed it from the reservoir to the ram where i was bleeding it from the ram up with a syringe? do i need a new master cylinder…

Yes I know, the same boring old questions but, I have just cancelled my contract with Beta and moved to Gas Gas in a deal worth the 12 hour round trip I'm just home from, so sorry about these questions but I just want to go to bed, wake up and have some answers as I honestly can't be bothered searching....so..... 09 125 How much gear oil ? It seems to be geared for the road (I want it geared for trials) So what's best gearing for it ? It has a 44 ( I think on the rear) and a 49 spare, what's best ?? Cheers from a weary traveller

I finally got my 2012 Raga and was able to take it out for 1 day before the rain then winter mix hit. Great bike. Amazing handling. I can't imagine a trials bike being any better, except for the little kid sized kick start. I know saving weight is key but they could have made the thing a inch longer and the added weight would have been mere grams. It works ok when everything is perfectly dry but get a little mud on your boots (Sidi Trials) and it's almost impossible to stay on it. If they can't make it bigger they could at least add some traction knurling or something. I hate the thought, but have considered cutting some groves in the back side where your boot hits it w…

05 GG 125 pro, running backwards, things tested so far and not worked. All electrics changed over from a known good runner, stator plate, flywheel, also took key off crank shaft and repositioned flywheel on shaft to try change timing still same result, anyone any idea what the cause could be. Could the crank be out of time ? only thing that has not been changed and tested yet ?

Hi guys i'm from Portugal and i recently got a JT 25 that wasnt loved enough before and that i've been restoring it. I had to bleed all the hidraulics, changed all the bearings from top to bottom, new brake pads, new brake and clutch lever, new radiator cap and fluid, new bolts all around, fixed some exaust leaks on the joints, new chain tensioner, did some paint and a few other stuff. I'm still waiting for the air filter but i decided to test the bike anyways without him to check the engine and the clutch. Happens that i encounter some issues that i need some help specially from you guys that have more experience in these types of motorcycles. The engine starts pretty…

Can anyone comment on how the two engines differ with regard to riding? Currently on the hunt for a 2011 280 (as I currently already have a 280 and get on well with the engine) but can't seem to find many for sale. However I do keep seeing the odd 300cc for sale so wondering if I should get one? If the power delivery and overall weight of the bike is similar to the 280 then i'd be happy, but I'd rather not get one if its going to be a different beast to the 280.

Hi Now I am in deep sh*** again! While stripping the engine for painting (see other topic) I couldnt get the front end mounting bolt loose. Putting 90Kg on the allen key didnt help other than destroying the internal hex. Finally got to drill out the bolt head - that bolt is hard - I figured it was just to hit it loose, but no. It is actually stuck in the engine casing! Probably by corroding together. What do I do now? I am afraid to hit too hard cause the magnesium casing probably doesnt cope too much. Any ideas on how to attack this? Anyone experience this before? -Jan

My bike came with an NGK type R plug in it. Does anyone know the difference to a standard BP5ES? What plugs are you all using?
