Gas Gas

My 2006 TXT PRO 300 had been running fine all day until at tick-over it just died, as if it had run out of fuel. Switched to reserve, tried to kick her up nothing not even a splutter. Filled tank, still nothing. Stuck her in the van and went home. Today I stripped and cleaned the Carb, stuck in a new Plug and still wont fire-up. It did run for a few seconds but immediately bogged and died. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Hi all... I've read everything I can on this subject and it sounds like such an easy process... but I just can't do it! My bike is a 2000 Gas Gas TXT 250 with AJP level / master cylinder and Hebo caliper. Being as I'm an idiot I decided to have a look at my brakes and see how they work... First lesson I learned is if you split the caliper, you let loads of air in the system. Ten wally points to me. So, I followed instructions to bleed the brakes and nothing... maybe a little spurt here and there but not the torrent the instructional videos etc online would have me expect... So, I went out a bought a "pressure bleeding kit". I linked the kit up to a tyre at 20 odd psi…

  3. Hi All, I feel like this a common problem, and i have done some reading and research, so bare with me. I have reset the floats as best i can, but when i lean the bike on its side, say to rest on a tree, at a 45 degree angle or less, it just pours fuel out of the overflow, bike is a 2011 Raga, with the keihin pwk is there anything else i can do? Its using so much fuel and i recon this is partly why

I'm guessing this is going to get expensive... This is my beloved 2011 Raga 300. After the usual weekend practice and a thorough clean, I discovered both crankcase halves have broken around the lower rear engine mount. These are magnesium cases. I know there has been a reported issue of misaligned holes at this mount but I checked it about a year ago and it was perfect (no drilling necessary). Obviously this is what we have to expect to have a lightweight bike. Anyway, new magnesium cases appear to be unobtainable. I'd be happy to replace them with the standard aluminium ones hoping they might be stronger. The problem is that the local dealer appears to only have …

Hi Guys, just got my new bike at the weekend, a 2010 TXT 300 in great nick with no real hard rinding done on it. The problem is this... starting it is a complete pig! it has very high compression as it would have but I can kick it till I am wrecked and not even fire? Then with the same kick later it fires up fine, once running it is brill and so much power : ) But after 40 kicks to start it 3 times is gets very boring, any ideas would be a help. Chris

Hi guy's, i'll try and keep this as short as possible. The bike which is a 2003 250 txt pro has been getting more difficult to start when warm after you have switched it off for a few minutes. Then on her last outing she just cut out altogether and after everyone there having ago at starting her the kick starter snapped off, in the middle of nowhere. Got a new kick start on and now she wont start at all even when cold. My checks so far are New plug New HT cap New HT lead cleaned carb thoroughly although it was spotless any way fuel flows freely from tank, so the breathers are fine. Looking at the spark it's not too strong looking but is blue, so i tested the res…

  12. Hello all, Just thought I’d share with everyone who cares, the continuing saga of my 2012 Gas Gas with the Formula brakes. I detailed some of my issues with these brakes here: http://www.trialscen...s-fiasco-fixed/ Although I was able to solve a few things as I documented in that thread, there are still a few issues with these brakes that keep them from being great. The first and foremost thing is the side loading of the master cylinder piston when you pull the lever. When everything is clean and lubed and flushed this doesn’t present much of a problem, but stuff the levers in the dirt a few times, or get too many hours on them without flushing them, and the feel at t…

I've added a thicker clutch plate and dropped the gearing on my sons TXT 50 Boy, which have transformed the little bike but still isnt quite there! I've seen quite a few older TXT 50 Boy' in various trials and they seem to have much better low down power and seem to cope with the low rev tight stuff much better than my sons. I dont like the auto clutch to be honest! It seems like you have to pick the revs up quite high for the thing to bite and start moving at which point it shoots off at quite a rate! I may be exaggerating a bit here but this is to try and explain what is going on. It has improved with time as I think the clutch springs have weakened a bit and the bike…

Hey Guys, I'm due to do an oil change on my bike (I don't like the non progressiveness of the ATF) anyway, I wondered how much oil I should be putting in? GasGas said one thing, where as the manual says something else?! (Although according to the manual you check the oil level by a dipstick! Might be a few typos in there! lol) Thanks in advance.

In this video interview from Marc Colomer at the end they show some details of Jaime Busto factory bike. Here is an interesting one: That is one BIG spacer... Looks like extra weight too. Any idea what this is for?

  17. I swear this bloody bike is cursed! So, previously.. The ducati ignition had been causing me some hassle, eventually leading to me buying a complete Kokusan setup off a 2002 TXT. Now after a few issues with parcelforce, I finally got the new setup so like an excited child at christmas set to fitting it. It ran fine for about 20 minutes then started struggling at higher revs, so came back and fiddled. Now its weird.. Itll be hard to start, then refuse to run properly. Popping & banging, smoking and just wont rev. Also getting very hot very quickly! To me, its like ignition timing when it fails to advance/retard. But then start it up after…

Is there a special procedure to bleeding the Gasgas clutch? So far I've tried standard on off bleeding, reverse bleeding with a syringe, suction bleeding with a syringe, and vacuum bleeding with a mates kit. I'm using atf mineral oil as I use in my KTMs. I've now ordered a new bleed nipple and some LHM fluid to try and rule everything out. The clutch has feel but no engagement.
