Hi all,new to all this but enjoying my 1st bultaco.ive been researching about.pics etc,am I correct in saying that the correct tank is a one piece unit ,incorporating smooth side panels? cheers chaps

took it for a trip after 30m ish it suddenly lost power but stiil ran but sometimes stopped, fuel and spark seem ok, cant see any leaks, compresion seems ok crankcase seal perhaps? any thoughts? steve

hello all my swing arm on my 199B has no bracket for the top chain sliper looks like its been taken off at some time in its life. there is thick rubber wrapt around the boss its doing the job but as started to rub throw. as anybody any ideas on how to replace it with out taking the swing arm off? hears a photo

The front hub on my M91 Sherpa has the **** chrome lining which is pitted and peeling but the rear hub is the conventional type, is this correct for this model. Does any one have any recommendations for sorting out the front hub problem, I read some time back that it's possible to have the hub metal sprayed and machined, is there other options I could take ? Back in the day my Sherpa 198A had what I believed to be an aftermarket one piece kick start lever that swivelled from the bottom rather than the top, it also hugged the cylinder head closer than the original type. From what I remember it had Bultaco stamped on it Does anyone know who made it ? and if they are still available?

I,m not sure if it,s the correct terminology,but the clutch drags on my 199A.When riding the bike and you pull in the clutch it doesn,t fully disangage and the bike tries to keep going with the pressure plate correctly adjusted and slight free play at the lever. Before pulling it apart I did check the pressure plate trueness by pulling the sparkplug,then kicking it over while holding the clutch lever in- it was pretty much spot on.So I pulled it apart and the basket has no wear grooves to speak of.I,ve never seen that before and it doesn,t look like they,ve been filed smooth.Anyway,I don,t think the plates were hanging up on the basket.The hub looks ok with very slight w…

Gents I have recently inherited my fathers Sherpa T 1971 M80. It has stood at the back of his garage for probably 20 or more years without being started. So I have decided to try and get her going. First took off petrol tank and carb which were all gunked up. Cleaned all the jets with airline and ensured all residues were removed.Removed fuel tap and thoroughly cleaned ( replaced cork washer ). Replaced fuel lines as these had gone'hard' and brittle. Thoroughly swilled out the petrol tank. Checked for spark and was pleasantly surprised to see a nice 'fat' blue one. Hi could anyone help what bike this is from. On rim Me 1947 and brake arm screw has Bultaco m80.There is a akront sticker but no writing on rim.

Is it common practice i.e. ok to remove the frame tubes under the engine and replace them with a heavy bolted in alloy bash plate to provide better clearance etc ? I'm asking as I'm restoring a Bultaco 350t (159) and the tubes under the engine are quite dented and flattened. Cheers Paxo,

Hello all, I wonder if any TC forum member can help me with finding out any history of a 340 which was imported on 18 April 1983, converted to a proper Comerfords Vesty modded bike, and sold to Ernie Page Motorcycles in Edinburgh. I tried to put my front wheel on only to find that it,s not centered between the forks.It is over to the left side (non-brake side). I bought the bike this winter and didn,t pay close enough attention to the front wheel when I took it apart. My first thoughts were that maybe it had been re-spoked at one time with incorrect offset or that it had the wrong backing plate which was keeping it over too far.I have my brothers 199a here that is still apart for painting so I tried his front wheel.Same problem,over too far to the left! I can,t believe that both wheels could have the same issues.What the heck else could be wrong? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Been raiding the photo albums, and thought this may be appreciated!! The young Italjetfan is about 6 months old. I actually tried to recreate the shot on a different Bulty when my daughter was the right age. only to find my Mum had thrown Dad's trials overalls away about a month earlier!!! Shame... Hi Looking for a little help, pointers and/or where to start. I'm no and#39;mechanic god' so assume nothing. I bought a 199A sherpa off eBay. Its not been run regularly but it has had quite a bit work done and looks generally tidy. Bit of a risk as bought it unseen. Got delivered home, filled up with fuel/oil mix and my excitement I managed to start it after several go's. Choke doesn't seem to do much, fiddled on and off. Eventually fired with wide open throttle. Went for a ride and whilst it tick overs quite sweetly seem low on power and does free rev. Can pull a wheelie in any gear for example. Had another go today. cleaned carb out but nothing in the…

Hello all, I have been riding a 1966 250cc Bultaco Matador in the USA AHRMA trials Classic Class for some time. My Bike handles OK on the milder events but when the going gets tough its a real pig. Any thought on how I can get the bike to behave in the rough? Thanks, Dave

hello could any body clear my thoughts did the 199B fork legs all have the notch cut out on the L/H side on the inside leg? or did some leave the factory with std legs like the ones off the 199A? i know some had the beta legs with no pinch bolts on 1 side also the 199b only takes 1 seal per leg correct me if am wrong cheers bondy.

Got a set of stainless spokes from Inmotion and i cannot build the wheel same 2 cross patern that was the way it was when i took it apart. They say the spokes are for 3 cross patern . Can any post a picture of 3 cross patern so i can copy. Thank you
