Hi all new to the forum just bought a bulltaco Sherpa T 350. But not really sure the frame number is B- 8002881 engine number is M- 8002922 Hoping someone could help identify what model I have Greg

I’ve found a couple of old threads on wiring but they don’t fully address my problem... I have an Alpina 213 but the brake and tail lights aren’t working. The bike has been retired (badly) at some point and the resistor is now missing, and they are apparently unobtainable, it also has a brake light switch with normally closed contacts. I’ve had one suggestion which is to fit an LED bulb as they’re more tolerant of fluctuations in voltage, though that would need a normally open brake light switch. I know these are available but I’d like to keep to the original style and position, and am yet to find one suitable. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to …

Just finished rebuild of M49 Sherpa and the fibreglass tank is going to have to be lined to use, has anybody got any suggestions for an alloy option? There is one on auction at the moment but just looking for alternatives. cheers

In the midst of my Covid199B restoration. Can anyone confirm the actual length of the 199B Clutch Push Rod. As ever thanks for the assistance.

Prior to rebuilding this long-term (dismantled) project, I've begun dragging out and examining parts, with a view to doing a trial assembly before parting with serious money on chrome plating, powder coating, etc. Starting with the frame, I found two sawn/ground off welds on the seat rails either side of the air filter (arrowed in pic.) :- Anyone out there know what was there originally ? Brackets/ lugs/ a bridge across the filter ? ....and do I need to replace it ? Outer edges of the air filter body appear to stand slightly proud of the frame rails, and there are marks on the underside of the seat part of the tank/seat unit. Bike is a UK supplied a…

Hi Guys Does anyone have an engine manual they could possibly send me for a model 92 325 Sherpa? I have stripped it down as it was in a bad state, and ordered all the parts needed from In Motion but when the gasket kit has turned up there is 3 o rings (two the same size) one is smaller. but the engine never had any in at all anywhere when stripped so may have perished away.

Can anyone advise the size - diameter and pitch - of the thread at the fork tube top? Need to clean up a little whoopsie and can’t find the size listed anywhere. Thanks in advance . Cheers Paulmac

From what I can see it will cost me around £200 to have a pair of Bultaco fork legs rechromed/refurbished. And that's assuming they can deal with the taper at the top for the fork yoke (early Sherpa). Or I buy new ones for half that price from inmotion. Are the inmotion ones likely to be of a comparable quality/tolerance? Anyone else bought them and have an opinion? Presumably they are a pattern part and not genuine old Bultaco stock. Thanks!

I got a crusty on the outside, perfect on the inside NOS Betor fork locally was originally built for a Rokon dirt bike from the mid 70's. It looks like a cast version of a Ceriani GP. Anyway, the bore of the stanchion looks worse than the a typical DOM tube and the pistons don't have non-metallic rings. I am thinking I should hone the bores and add micarta bearings to the piston? The main slider bearings are perfect, zero play. The springs are 495 and wire 3.95 which should be good for a BSA single? I appreciate any advice. For reference. Hi All Getting on with restoring my Sherpa 198A and currently trying to sort out the carburettor. Stripped it and generally wasn't too bad except for worn throttle slide and a bashed about float chamber. Anyway jets and needle were as specified in the Owners Manual but as general detail is a bit thin I have referred to an Amal Mk2 Technical Manual available off the internet. After finishing up my 1970 M49, when I turned on the gas, I get a leak from the top of the banjo fuel filter (white area). In the parts book looks like there is no gasket between that and the float bowl , just the filter. I already replace the the o-rings and bowl gasket so I'm guessing I need a new filter/and or a float needle? It still has the original plastic needle in it. One last thing, would a NGK B6ES (.021 gap) plug be the right one to use? Thanks

Hi all, just rebuilding my Frontera 152 engine, I'm using the Inmotion Italkit piston and crank set, new rod too. There are two piston rings - a chrome one and a black one. Which one is the upper and which is the lower? I've emailed Inmotion but sounds like he's super busy... and can't reply before Tuesday anyway... just trying to get a headstart. Ta.

This story begins sometime in 1971, or maybe it was 1972, when dad bought a nearly new model 49 Bultaco. This was to replace the 4-speed model he'd ridden briefly, worn-out heap that it was. I never knew that much about that bike as a kid growing up, although I learnt plenty about the other few in the garage. After digging out some boxes of photos from my parents loft I have found that when dad left home in the late 70s to move in with my mum, he left the Bultaco behind in his own mum's garage. Good afternoon all I have a 76 Sherpa 350 and have been riding it on and off for a few months now. It’s my first bike but have spent many of hours getting to know it and from a non starter it works and runs well, apart from when I’m riding it will all of a sudden erratically just max out on the revs, similar to when she runs out of fuel! I then pull the clutch in and pull the kill switch, immediately. It tends to do this through the gears at any given time but usually when it’s in higher revs, and certainly keeps me on edge the whole ride. One brilliant side effect of this Social Isolation is that I have plenty of garage time to finally get dug into my 199B restoration. I notice this evening when attempting to fit the rear shocks that one of the threaded dowls to hold the Shocks to the Swinging arm has been powder Coated inside and has clogged the threads. What size tap must I use to redress the threads. Is it Metric or Metric Fine?
