  1. Started by scorpatic,

I've just bought some new Forma Boulder boots to replace my Alpinestars which have given up after five years. To be fair they have been soaked and dried very week with no further care. I am keen to get the boots to last and have gone black instead of white which look like crap after a few rides. The question is what product is best for the boot preparation, softening of leather and preserving etc. Ive heard that Neats foot oil is good but others ay its full of petroleum which is not good. Advice?

Hi, Has anyone tried the Stylmartin impact evo trials boot? I've pretty much trashed my alpinestars, the sole has come away from the boot. I'm thinking about getting a pair of oiled Gaernes next, but wanted to ask if anyone has tried the stylmartin ones? thanks

Hi all, Am thinking about getting a camera (gopro etc)and and getting some good advice. Was just wondering peoples views on here plus whats the best mount position? Bars will give the bike route view whilst helmet will get a good perspective on where the eyes track within the section? I know its a fairly wide angle lens but was wondering peoples views on mount position?

need some new kit 36/38" waist in jeans etc but have decent sized thighs from weights/rugby/cycling. thinking some jitsie or MOTs kit but unsure which is most generous - trials gear seems like cyclists gear - designed for malnourished whippets usually just use mx pants but a bit heavy when wet and fall down without the braces - rock on tommy any ideas on other makes? thanks

I see this is a new company making trials gear. Looks a little more relaxed than what is on the market now. Looks nice - has anyone tried it out? Located at [ upandovertrials .com]

Gaerne Boots are popular and for good reason. Very comfortable. One thing is the soles do tend to get chewed up, at least mine did. I posted about the soles while back. I bought some Shoe Goo, and I have been pleasantly surprised at how well it fills in the deep ruts left by the pegs. I grabbed a tube of it and filled in the divots. Let it settle in for 48 hours before riding and it helps to have a plastic disposable knife or similar to smooth it out a bit before it hardens up. Lasted awhile and cheap. Just thought I'd pass it on.

My last few trials have been in wet conditions and once my gloves are wet they get slimy and slippery. I end up getting arm pump and or very tired hands because of reduced grip. Using renthal Medium compound grips and I like them but they are for **** with slimy gloves. I've searched for this and did not see any recommendations. Anyone have a glove that is tacky even when wet?

Managed to launch myself over the handlebars on Sunday and landed on my napper. I felt my head hit a rock pretty hard but it wasnt until I took my helmet off and saw the damage that I realised how hard the impact was. Out come - one knackered brand new helmet but it did its job as I sustained no injury other than aching neck muscles. Money very well spent and replacement Jitsie ordered!

Hey all. Does anyone know of shops which has a good boots selection? I live in Newcastle however I am prepared to travel. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated Thanks in advance :-)

  18. Hi I think there's a gap in the market for guys like me. I use my Motesa for trail riding. I've got the fuel tank seat. It's just brilliant, so good at laning in fact, I sold the Exc-f 350 I had because it wasn't getting used. Nothing wrong with the 350 of course, it's just there's 300% more fun to be had on the Mont. I love the protection from my MX helmet, but I wouldn't ride the Mont with it now I have a trials helmet. Issue is that now I use a trials helmet I'm kind of waiting for the 'big one' that rearranges my face! Speeds obviously higher than trials (Mont will happily push 50+mph ). Going back to the MX helmet just reminds me of how restrictive it is re…

I currently have the gaerne oiled boots, such a comfy boot, but after a good soaking they become extremely soft and i nearly ripped my little toe off at the reeth, so has anyone tried the standard gaernes? Are they a little tougher when wet?
