Ok folks, hate asking a question that’s been answered many times before, but I’ve looked back as far as 2016 and can’t find anything current on 348 carbs, so............ Ive just bought an early 348, I know they’re a bit Marmite, but it’s a nostalgia trip. It’s the last bike I rode competitively in about 1978 and I thought it’d be nice to relive my youth, also it’s never a problem adding another one to the collection ? She has the original Amal on at present. By the time I’ve replaced the slide, jets, etc, etc I’m half way to the cost of an Oko or similar. As the title really. I am struggling to find the price of a new 4rt on the continent. With the falling value of the Euro I assume they must be a fare bit cheaper over there. I've tried looking on some foreign eBay sites but I can't find any new 4rt's for sale. I live in the UK by the way.

Do any of you have experience with the V-MAR rear shock linkage for the 4RT? The linkage lifts the rear of the bike and they claim: "This gives you improved 'hop' without sacrificing the excellent rear end traction." If you've tried the linkage, did it work as claimed? Please share your thoughts/experiences with this mod. Thanks

Hi, I've just bought a new 4rt thats having a 280cc kit fitted along with a ptb (single or twin im not sure) and im trying to find out the general must haves / do's and reviews from any other 280 owners. Im used to power as ive come from a 300 Gas Gas with reeds and no flywheel weight but im also a big lad so i need it I dont pick it up till mid january when the 280 is fitted but i'd like to buy a few shineys for it so ive something to fiddle about with Cheers Nick

My 05 4rt has just started playing up. Been running fine then last weekend Ok for first couple of laps then on returning back up to the car park struggled to rev out eventually getting worse - sounds bit like running out of fuel or a choke being left on with a carb bike. Stopped bike and started ok then gets worse again - seems ok in section for a while but not when riding back to start. Changed plug, checked every connection, cleaned throttle body etc. Checked tappits and general look round during last the week. There seems to be loads of monts about these days but you never see hardly any experts riding them in trials , why is this are they just that little bit too heavy ?underpowered?not competetive ?correct me if I'm wrong but I think there's only Rob Warner that rides British championship occasionly apart from that they have no presence in the championship? ,you'd think one of the many UK dealers would get a decent lad on one to show what they are capable of

Any good ideas on how to waterproof the electrics for a 2016 4RT. There was lots of rain today and as I use a trailer I am assuming the electrics have become waterlogged as the bike wouldn't start when I got to the trial. What is odd is that it still wont start even after the long trip home in in dry'ish weather when I expected the breeze would have dried out all the terminals. Anybody else had this problem? Cheers

I've had my 4rt for 2 months now and think it's absolutely fantastic, but I'm now having my first problem in the shape of a misfire when I open the throttle looking for a bit of power when climbing or getting up a step etc. Basically what happens is, I open the throttle and at low revs / low throttle openings the engine is OK, anything more than 1/4 throttle or so, then I get a misfire which feels like the engine is dying and then it comes back in with a bang (a bit like a 2-stroke when it '4-strokes', or like a bike with a warm engine and the choke partly on). Got the tank off my Montesa while I have it flattened, so I was wondering about linking out the bank sensor. I found a post saying that it's easy to do, but can't find the related post where it's actually described how to do it. How do you link out the bank sensor? Are there any consequences? Like you can't lay the bike almost flat on the ground because I've taken off the stand (it never floods)?

Hello all together, Maybe someone has a few informations for me. In our club we had a few 4RT from all years. I have the 2017 standard version and I'm super happy with it, my buddy tried it, found it also great and bought one. Modell 2018. We all thought this is exactly the same bike (not the bahplatte, chainguard and decals ;-)) But when we swaped bikes there was this "WTF-moment" the 2018 modell seems to have much more power in the topend, and also more agressive at low rpm. All bikes are in "fullpower-mode". So my question is: Is it only a new mapping in the ECU or did they changed something mechanicaly, like more compression diffrent camshaft.... When it is only …

When I ride my bike(2012 4RT) during practice after it's hot and fully warmed up it starts to bog out or stall like it's missing petrol. But it only happens at a specific moment when I give it a bit of throttle and get some RPMs, pop a wheelie or ride up a steep hill etc. I was wondering if anyone knew or had an idea of what it might be Thanks

Well taken the plunge and ordered a new 4RT('06), yes a lot of money, but just fancy a 4 stroke So the questions about what to change have been asked before, however that was fairly early on when they first came out. So here we are a year on, the questions are probably the same, but are there any more: What needs changing to make it better What difference do the changes make Was it worth changing etc. etc. Hopefully not long now to wait, so it would be useful to know what to get when I pick it up

Hello friends, this turned up locally as a barn find. Ad says its all original, hasn't run since late 70s but turns over, original docs, manual, tool kit etc. He wants $1k for it (obo)... Is it worth investigating further? with a TY resto i attempted, parts were plentiful online and i wonder if this is the case for a euro 70s bike too or if it would be more of a headache than its worth. - isnt there a montesa with a wierd size front wheel that you cant get any more? is that this bike?
