Hello all I have tried searching but have not been able find any reviews or users reports on the 4RT, so can anyone enlighten me please?. I've decided that I want to go back to 4 stroke but can't decide on Beta or Montesa, any info or suggests would be most helpful. Many thanks in advance.

Hello all. I used to have an 06 standard 4 rt that I had for 18 months, never missed a beat. Only criticism was the clutch was very sharp. Changed it for a gg300. Great bike to ride but build quality is shocking. Thinking of going back to a 4rt for sheer build quality and joy of ownership, plus I'm going to give the Scott another crack next year and think it would be a good choice for it Is there a preferred year or model of 4rt up to about 2010 in terms of improvements? I know you can throw

Theres quite a selection out there and I dont want to get the wrong ones. Also while I have the casing off is there anything else I should replace, seals, bearings, springs, ect. Thanks tom

Can anyone tell me what jetting I should have in my '04 315? I've stripped and cleaned the carb and the bikes running ok but seems a little "weak" off the bottom end? Cant see any wear or damage to needle or slide but I can change 'em if needed. Not sure what jets are in at present. Any and all advice on carb set up will be greatly received!!! Cheers guys.

Regrettably I sold a 2005 4rt last year to go back to 2t, now I miss it like mad.. What I would like to know is what are the advantages of going for a later bike other than the obvious - less wear and tear. Later bikes are more expensive but what were the gains, better forks, more power, stronger brakes?? Were there any years that had issues? Regards Nick.

A year or back I let my Fantic go and now thinking of another Post 80 bike to take its place, the logical option would be another FANTIC but I do fancy something different, a Montesa. I don't know too much about them what could people who do tell me about the 242, or the 330. I have read the kickstart is a little fragile, but are these realistic competitors to the Fantic, it wll be ridden on a middle route in trials so not easy but not stupidly hard also. Thanks

I bought a set of plugs for the Cota Project based on the old ones. The parts guy said that it had been replaced/updated. The "new" ones do not have removable screw off tops, which is required for my plug cap. What are you guys using? Sunny

Hello! Just bought myself a 2001 Dougie Lampkin Cota 315. Been out of the sport for a couple of years and having another crack at it. Was just wondering if any of you guys on here could recommend the best oil to mix with the petrol and what ratio to mix them. Have heard that Shell Scooter oil is a good one to use??? Cheers, Tom

Hello. I recently bought a 2000 cota 315r. The bike currently has a stock reed block installed with some sort of carbon fiber reeds. Looking closely I see that 2 of the 4 petals have a short nylon tensioner, and the other 2 petals have a longer tensioner. By "tensioner" I mean a small flat nylon rectangle which is about the same thickness and width as the reed petal, and is about 5mm-10mm tall. It installs between the petal and the reed stop. The bike also came with a Delta VForce-2 reed valve still in the box. Previous owner never got around to installing it. So my question is: since I've got the bike apart at the moment, should I go ahead and install the Delta …

Hi All Really quick question hopefully as I have to get my swingarm etc back on tonight if I can ready for the weekend. When I took the bearing seals out of the dogbone they all had the flat sides inwards ie next to the bearing and the lip/ open side facing out... I had to take the swingarm to have the linkage bearings cut out as they were totally collapsed and rusted in (there was nothing much left of the seals on the swingarm so I dont know which way around they were), now when I got the swingarm back (from an engineering place) the seals have been put flats out, I asked and he says thats how they are supposed to go. A little worried now as Ive put the seals back in …

An average clubman rider is thinking of buy a 4rt. With all the deals and such like available and waiting times for some models. Those in the know, which year and which model would be best to buy? and why? e.g. 2005...cheap to buy and good piece of kit 2006...re-worked engine, easier to start 2007................etc is the extra money better spent on after market stuff, like the Mitani gear any help most appreciated Leigh

There is some kind of white residue primarily on the front wheel of my 2018. It looks sort of like mineral deposits from where water dried. Detergent, Isopropyl alcohol and acetone do not remove it. A carnauba cleaner wax removes some but is way too much work for old hands. The rag with cleaner turns black so maybe it is some kind of oxidation. Is there an easy way to remove it?
