I recon that the biggest barrier to increasing the popularity of trials is a poor mobile phone signal at venues out in the countryside! My 60 year old mate came round our place a few weeks ago. He looked at my bikes, then told me that he wanted to get a bike, but his missus told him that first they needed to get a new fitted kitchen, a new bathroom and then a new bedroom suite. No doubt there will be some other "must have" afterwards. Most folk are too busy getting "stuff" (including piles of cash) to have fun. They build a prison for themselves.

The cooling fan on my Sherco ST runs continuously. Even kicking the motor over causes the fan to spin. Faulty radiator thermostat? Thanks in anticipation.

IRC have now sorted the issue of the tubeless tire being too loose a fit. It is now much tighter on the rim and does not deflate when you hit something. I fit my own tires and when I put an IRC on my rear wheel, about six months ago, it went on with a very loud snap - just like a Michelin x lite. I have been running mine as low as 2.5 pounds in the mud and it has been absolutely fine - even when hitting stones, rocks or logs.

Are you losing any gearbox oil? Measure what you put in, then what you take out when you next change the oil.

Also, ensure that your gear lever is screwed up tightly onto the shaft splines. A small amount of movement here will also make neutral harder to select.

Put £70 of petrol in the van - a diesel van. Cost about £200 to get it removed by a call-out specialist.

My 2013 250 Evo used to do that sometimes - usually mid-section, resulting in my loosing marks. Apparently the gear selector fork was too thin and bendy. Most of them did it occasionally. I thought they had sorted out that issue.

I was wondering if anyone makes a LEFT HAND throttle? Then you could learn to use your right hand index finger to operate the clutch. Or, how about a suicide clutch, like they used on early Harleys? It would make using the clutch in sections interesting.

The only REAL difference in MODERN trials bikes, is 2 stroke or 4 stroke. Apart from this question, they are all clones of each other, with little real difference.

The standard rear shock spring on a 2014 Sherco ST. Make? What is the standard spring rated at? Who sells stiffer springs to suit the standard rear shock? Thanks in anticipation

Snowing yesterday, so I went out for a walk, into town, then walked a mile, along roads to another village. I saw one Gasgas trials bike, a very loud pit bike and two noisy scramblers. None of these were road registered, yet were being ridden along what would usually be busy roads. There were members of the public out walking, along with a few cars. These were in 4 different locations and were not connected as far as I could tell. The next thing will be complaints in our local paper and yet more anti-bike publicity.

The Beta Evo 250 2013 and early 2014 had this issue. It was the selector forks were too thin/springy. They would jump out of first or second, mid section. That was the main reason that I sold mine. There was plenty written about it here perhaps three years ago.
