I'm also going to enter this topic with an entirely different perspective. 2 HR's or 100 miles is not a great distance, most people on here do more miles than that to compete in various trials, so I would suggest contacting the dealer, returning it to them and giving them time to fix it. When they have tested it and even get them to video the test and email to you, then collect it and use it. if they refuse to fix it, get your money back as they know it's not worth the fix up. this way, you either get a fixed bike or you money back, and you'll only be time and petrol money out of pocket.

    Try carlsalter.com. the Montesa 330 manual is the closest and the engines are virtually identical. At least it will give you workshops diagrams to work from, even if the part numbers are incorrect.

  5. It's type approve to use in the EU, thus the country designation, so, yes it's legal. the not for highway use stuff is for the US market, only ever taken note off, when they are no markings on the tyre.

  9. The clutch as you say in Q1 is exactly that, they free off with use each and every time. Q4 taking a clutch apart is fairly straight forward, give it a go, just place all the bits down on cardboard in the order they came out. sump plug is immediately above the hole drilled in the bash plate,towards the rear of the gearbox, for the purpose, you shouldn't, with the plate on reveal any other plugs.. Filler is on the left side behind barrel if I remember correctly.

  11. Sounds like a master cylinder seal, as the pressure builds the fluid is pushing past an iffy seal internally and going from one side of the piston to the other. Do you need a new master cylinder or just a seal kit?
  12. I had a similar issue on an Aptilia TXR where the rear calliper had been rebuilt and the previous owner had put the Pistons in the wrong way round. Are yours in the right way, if not the large flat surface cannot get the fluid pressure acting on it to move rhe piston out to apply pressure to the pads. Give it a check, at the very least!
  13. Yes of course, the frame and engine numbers normally correspond but the number is there so you can get parts for it which are correct, as well as the obvious security reasons. Contact John Shirt Motorcycles, he should be able to help you with ease.
  14. Quite possibly, I saw in Autumns TRF magazine, they'd registered a Sur Ron electric bike thingy, so a proper looking electric bike should be no issues!
  15. Before that, check all contacts, by unplugging, cleaning and reconnecting first, and a new plug. It's amazing that sometimes the simpler things can cause the biggest issues, but are sometimes overlooked for the bigger issue.

  17. I'm definitely not a KTM fanboy, I had a 200 EXC GS years ago for trail riding, traded it for a CRM, much better. As for Orange Sherco, not me sir, I have a Blue Yamaha, made in France! ?

  20. Take the switch off, keep the wire handy, start bike, touch wire to earth, does it work like the kill switch should. If so, no wiring issues. Once confirmed, fit a decent new switch and it should be good to go.
  21. Before you do anything else, remove any switches totally , and ensure you still have a spark. This will confirm its a switch issue rather than a more serious bike issue, possibly caused by the switch change over. A lot of wires when in plastic cases/shrouds when moved around and manipulated when they're old will just snap, unseen. You may need to start continuity testing wires once you know where the fault lies.
  22. If your last boots lasted 16 years, why change brand if there's a pair you've obviously liked and have lasted! That said, I've tried on Sidi boots and they pinched, Gaerne for me all the way, good fit, accurate sizing and well made.
  23. Have you tried Trials Bike Breakers? It'll be the same as the 309, etc, if I remember all the air cooled ones of that era had the same box and it only changed when the water cooled 311 came on scene.......
  24. Saw that one and the promise of some old and new bikes, being reviewed with kit and tools being looked at was enough to make me subscribe. What else have we got to do!
  25. Being a Southener, could somebody enlighten me as to who the front man is. Ive watched a few and it's entertaining with some interesting stuff in it, but aimed at newer trials riders, I think.
