Just ask Jerry Scott about that one.. ..Jerry Scott was a top class mx'er in the 50's. He was impaled on his (ball-less) lever and passed away as a result of the injuries. He is the reason that levers have balls on the end of them. I'm surprised the club let you ride.

Not ethanol but methanol. Back in the days of apartheid and when sanctions were beginning to bite, the SA govt banned motorsport as a way of saving petrol. Never ones to miss a trick the motorsports fraternity jetted for methanol by simply removing the main jets. The result was that the methanol slowly ate through the fibreglass tanks of the sherpas and cotas of the time. One cota even caught fire as a result. However I do remember that acetone was added to the methanol to make it undrinkable (tramps/homeless people were prone to drinking the stuff), what proportion of acetone was added I don't know and it could have been the acetone that was eating the fibreglass.

I don't know whether it's true or an urban myth. Regardless it's a good yarn. There was a story a few years ago, during one of the (many) US/Japan trade wars that a group of US farmers decided to buy local, so John Deere it was and sod Kubota. Problem was that the John Deeres were made in Japan and the Kubotas in The US. But yeah I agree with your statement. Now can I stop buyng MacDonalds?

Don't care what they do in indoors Dabster. My idea is that the riders dictate the severity of the sections without a minder. Sort of temper their ambitions. In theory a good up and coming rider might have a bash at it and not need to pay three blokes to catch him. I'm sure Mart would appreciate the break (erm, perhaps, in Marts case, that's not the expression to use ).

That's me! I don't mind pitching in for new tank, graphics and mudguards, but silly things differ between the models, the first exhaust boxes mounting is different, the brake pedal. It's the little things like that that have me worried. Donald, it's not a new thing. I've seen a few pics of the boards resident magpie on a sherpa of distinctly mixed pedigree.
