Not so sure he could win SSDT first time.

Not SWM' s, early Italjets were similar to Bultaco.

Don't know anything about this, however if you want any info on cheap brass jets let me know.

This leaves fuel.
Fiddle with the air box = bullyt with his Wal-Mart battery drill trying to make his air box a collander.
-
Parameters - you can't change the elevation, temperature, humidity or wind.
You can "fiddle" with the air box.
So that leaves ..............

"My plug is whitish" = lean, the rest is just a bit patronising.

I need more air less fuel at the higher elevations, but how?
Any suggestions?
Your words.
Obviously you checked the plug colour, it was black ?

Do you understand the difference between rich and weak ?
Whether you use a jet or a laptop to achieveit, its the mixture that's important.
-
Because a larger main jet ritchens the mixture, your trying to weaken it. Delivery system might be different but principal is the same.Running weak also causes the overheating you describe.
-
Worth a try, also a new plug.
-
Have you tried petrol directly into the cylinder ?
-
Post removed, to many closed minds.

Think your analysing this toooo much.
In my opinion the bars should be somewhere around vertical, trial and error to find your sweet spot.

Most modern shocks have the body at the top, worth checking.
-
Can those shocks be mounted either way up ?
-
Speak to inmotion bultaco.
-
Neil Dawson might be able to give you some info, think he has had his done. (His is a bit newer though)
-
Think you should also have a horn and Speedo, what's required for an MOT is less than what's requied to be road legal.

Good illustration in Rupert Ratio.

Any body used popnuts (or ?) Instead of pop rivets to make repackaging quicker http://www.thread-rite.com/pop_nuts/pop_nut_round_body.htm
-
I've found it difficult to get any meaningful info also. Also how to translate onto specific frames. Did you try extending the shocks / dropping forks through yokes first.
