Nobodys really been bothered upto now,but people are starting to put brand new modern front ends on their bikes, and now there is talk of banning discs full stop.
Thats probably whats going to happen soon, so will have stick the old set back on again.

Pressure wash them after each ride, then use spray-on furniture polish with beeswax
Used this on my alpinestars for years and they are still going strong.
-
I'm out on mine tomorrow too!
-
I think you'll find you'll be spending a bit more workshop time with the beta than your fantic 240, they weren't exactly robust
But thats all part of the fun, enjoy it
-
I didn't actually mean the "tea egg" thing!
I meant the noise issue generally!
-
-
-
Look at the stretch to reach the clutch & brake levers!
-
Helps reduce fork flex/twist.
-
Oh my god!
It must be spreading, i've just aquired an Aprilia TX311 for no apparent reason!!
-
No thats one step too far even for me!
-
"I dont think the early disc set ups were that much better than a well set up drum."
You're dead right there, i can vouch for this personally! I have an early disc set up and it's very inconsistent no mater what pads you use or what conditions you are riding in, there's been a few occasions where i would have been better off with drums.
It's a different matter however when people turn up with an entire sherco front end complete with 4 pot caliper set up.
I personally think that disc brakes shouldn't be allowed in the twinshock class full stop. (excuse the pun!)
-
Reliability and build quality were dreadful on those Fantics, i would steer clear.
-
Is it not Chro-moly?
Certainly some other bikes of the same era were.
-
I'll definately be interested in it!
Have to scrounge some "genuine" twinshock parts first!
-
I had to have a 6 month old engine rebuilt because of silkolene oil gumming up the internals, The Gas Gas main dealer told me never to use this oil as he was tgetting sick of rebuilding engines that had been run on it!
-
So basically you want to create a class just for Honda RTL's?
Don't think thats going to happen somehow!
-
-
Anyone from here going to the Cumberland 2-day British bike and twinshock trial up here in the sunny lake district?
-
Lots of tyre pressure guages will be inaccurate at such low pressures, i bet theres hundreds of people with tyres that are 2 or 3 psi (or more!) over/under because of inaccurate guages.
-
Any front mudguard will go on, i use a Gas Gas item.
-
I have to say the best ever method for fitting or removing grips is the compressor, i tried it for the first time last month and we just fell about laughing after the grip fitted itself after less than a second!
This is the best workshop trick i have ever seen
-
?????????? Bluker?????????
You have to have brakes for trials surely
-
I have a TLR 250 and when you are dialled in to the 4 stroke technique it is absolutely magic in the mud, alot better than a two stroke which are too smooth for traction in the sticky stuff.
Keep at it, try different techniques until you have it dialled.
