Hi I'm just interested in peoples opinions, as I can see if there was say 100 4strokes riding in one event (it might happen in a few years) there would be a huge noise problem maybe leading to clubs losing their little precious land they've got left. Cheers Chris

been riding trials for 8 months and my impression is that all the great riders are 155lbs soak and wet and no more than 5'7" I wonder if its really possible to do some of the techniques weighing 240 lbs and being 6'1". So far I ve only seen 1 tall high level rider: Cody Webb. I m talking about hopping on rear wheel, stoppie turns, big splatters, flip turns etc... Does anyone know of a big guy that does it or you have to be small?? While I was reading through my old books on trials, I came across the name of "Jacky Ickx" as one of the top world class trials riders in 1964 and 1965 (8th and 4th respectively in the 1964 and 1965 Henri Goutars Challenge). I wondered if it was the same Jacky Ickx that I watched on TV in Formula 1 and Lemans when I was a kid. A quick check of the web confirmed that it was indeed the same Jacky Ickx. This year I have been mostly using WD40! Just for an experiment - all this year I've been using only WD40 to lube the chain. It was a new Iris chain on new sprox & guess what - It lasted just as long as one lubed with good old sticky chain spray. I.E. one season. I ride most weekends and a few of the more interesting events - Reeth, Verdon etc so the bike does a lot of miles, for a trials bike. The theory was the chain has less dirt sticking too it & looks cleaner (prettier!) too.

We now have almost two hundred forum users registered. Why so few posts? Are you all scared to speak up in a quiet room. This site is already far better than another one I won't name with up to date news and a fresh new feel but the forums are just too quiet. Even the young lads Wonder bra and reverance aren't saying much and that's kind of worrying though I'm afraid to admit it. Come folks let get this thing moving. Post stuff, ask questions anything.

I was reading an MX mag the other day...while waiting for some new tyres to be fitted to my car. There was an article in this mag about which type of engine will be used in motorbikes in the future. I know in Trials most people have pretty much concluded that 2T makes sense but after debating all the in's and outs's the guy in the MX mag put his bets on 4T for MX. What's your opinion on this? Hi ,I'm new to trials but not competing just using it as a bit of enduro practice at the moment,I'm looking to get a new front tyre for my gasgas pro as its passed its best .I've found some mt43's on the net at a good price ,Is this because no one will touch them with a barge pole or are they ok?

Back in the past, when all trials were road trials, and we had 40 separate sections, the only time we queued was at the first few sections. After that we were all separated and could just ride straight into the sections. We sometimes waited for our mates to catch us up. Also the observers from the first few sections could man the latter in the day sections as there was time. Nowadays with just ten sections done 4 times, there is always queues... Mathematically, for an event with 100 riders, there will be 10 doing sections, 10 riding between sections. The other 80 will be queuing. an average of 8 per section. A local club just ran an event with 3 laps of 15…

For a little while I’ve wanted to know the actual difference in weight between a Montesa 300rr and a GasGas 300 racing. Having ridden both extensively I always get the feeling the Honda is much more than the claimed 72kg considering how much heavier it feels compared to the claimed 67kg gasgas. Fairly sure these figures must be dry, no fuel, oils and coolant etc. I decided to get the scales out! Both bikes were fitted with a full set of guards, fork, frame and swingarm, all ready to be ridden with oils, coolant and a full tank of fuel. The only real difference to the spec was the Montesa had been fitted with a heavier duty Csp sump guard, approx 500g more…

Come on then, what do people think of these bands. Personally i think they are fantastic, I first thought they were a load of rubbish. But whilst i was in Trials Uk's shop, i saw the lads do some tests on another customer. Absolutly fantastic. So i got one too. I wore it that night for thai boxing and i was like a machine. I had the besgt session in a long time. Is it true or is it mind over matter??? Whats your thoughts?

Just got back from a fabulous weekend of trials with the 'South West Classic Trials Association' (Congratulations to everyone involved in arranging such a superb event ) , only thing to spoil the event in my view was the selfish view some take with regard to queueing at the sections. We all know it's a multi lap event with lots of riders, so a couple of sections end up with queues of say 15 - 20 riders waiting to have their go, some seem to think it's acceptable to ride to near the front park their bike amble down to have another look at the section then just come back to their bike and join the queue at the front !
