Can anyone help out ??? I want to insure my 2006 Sherco trials bike and its not road registered.... Spoke to Carol Nash...There quote 149.00 for in the garage and to and from events...seems alot to me !!! I also have a KTM 400 exc insured with E BIKE but the Sherco needs to be road registered 1st before they will add to my policy....for a extra 28:00 (which is very good) But looking at the hassle off road registering a bike over 6 months old seems to be a nightmare !!!!! Can anyone recommend a insurance company who will insure un registered bikes ???? Cheers Phil

As I was researching for my wee project I tripped over quite a few Trials bikes on trailers behind motorcycles, but they seemed well scattered. I figured starting a thread for pics or links if you know of any elsewhere would be a good thing. So here's mine....

I thought it's about time i post up some pictures of my budget camper trailer. All prices listed are AUD, $1 aud is about 0.5 UK pounds. My whole setup seen below is about half the cost of a new bike. Camping is a year round tradition in Australia as it doesn't get very cold in most parts and it's not very wet for most of the year. Camper trailers are big business down under and are everywhere. About 2007 i decided that i needed a trailor for camping. I purchased a brand new offroad trailor for about $1700. I think it was another $200 for the trailer manufacturer to add 3x jerry's, 1x gas bottle holder, upright spare, rear recovery hitch etc so the total was about $190…

Hi Guys I've recently started transporting my bike about on the back of the motor using one of the following types of carriers (attached). As I live in Edinburgh I am extremely conscious about bike theft, my garage has already been attempted a few times over past year and I hate the idea of someone following me. Does anyone know of any good covers that can be purchased to help hide what I am carrying? All help/pointers appreciated.

Anyone got any idea who offers Bike insurance that will cover the bike for use in road trials as well as general use ?

  8. I am thinking about getting some insurance for my trails bike as a few have been pinched around here recently. I dont ever ride the bike on the road and its delared sorn. A few options: Get it insured under my house insurance..but not sure if this would cover me if a gang kicked me off it whilst out??? Investigate how much it would cost with an insurance company. The problem I have is is it worth it? and what comapanies should i try for a quote? The bike is probably worth 2 grand

Sorry for asking again, as I can see that there are many questions, answers and opinions about various vans, and car variants for transporting trials bikes. But before making a purchase, for clarity, do members on the forum reckon that a trials bike will fit inside a Peugeot Partner Tepee. (And not a WAV vehicle). The ones I am looking at are the shorter type wheelbase car type variant. Many thanks

Hi all, I recently attended a british national acu youth trial and noticed quite a few of the lads there were in vans that had been kitted out with an area for the bikes in the back and a storage area above, then an extra set of seats behind the drivers seat. I cant find anything on the internet and i wondered if anyone would be able to post a picture of their van to give me an idea as im really looking into doing one of my own. Also could anyone give me some ideas of what van would be best to start off with. thanks.

The Erde bike trailer will stand up on its end which would allow me to store it... Has anyone done this and got a system (caster set, etc) to then manoeuvre it where you want it to go. If I could tip it up and then wheel it that would be perfect for where I can store it.....

  17. Hi all,can anyone help with some info please. My brakes have failed on my citroen c15 diesel 1.9 (2002 model) today I have tried to fix so as to transport my bike on sunday to the local trial but I am stumped !!! following the brakes giving up on me,,i guessed on either calliper seals, brake line leak or master cylinder failure, however there is no leaks from any brake lines, callipers, slave cylinders and I have fitted a new master cylinder, bled the brakes but still no bite and pedal goes to the floor with engine running,i noticed that after pumping the pedal, there is fluid leaking from a thick rubber hose venting from the bulkhead to the floor but do not know what this i…

Hey Guys: Quick question - has anybody any experience of using a small van like a Peugeot Partner / VX Combi to transport a trials bike? I'm looking at getting as small a van as possible to ship both a trials bike / DH mountain bikes around and in an ideal world one of the smaller vans would be choice...not to mention easier to find than Vito's etc.... unfortunately - I haven't got myself a trials bike yet and the van is coming first....so it could all be a bit of an expensive gamble!!! Cheers,

I know this has been asked before but I can find anything recent that helps. I'm thinking of getting a van and wondered which was the smallest that would carry a full size bike and a beta 80. I've been looking at the partner at around a 12 reg so hopefully this would fit them in?
