I've just been up to Addingham today and the farmer has told me that he is due to be summonsed to court for continuing to allow trials riders to practice. He told me last week he was trying to do a deal to allow practicing at weekends and on Wednesdays but it seems that this has come to naught. It seems there is a serious risk that Addingham will only be allowed to used 14 days per year (presumably for events) and that we won't be allowed to practice. I know that in the past threats to Addingham as a practice area have come and gone but it seems that this time it may actually occur. The problem is that I can't get any hard info off the farmer as to who is trying to obtain…

Work has started on our round of the 2012 British championship.We have changerd venue to Nevis range,venue of the last 2 world rounds.We wont be using the route used by them up by gondala station but have a bran new unseen and unused burn.Never seen a trials bike in it. All natural sections perfect for the new rules with a man made final section in car park.Not a big lap but we are very hopefull of getting use of a minibus to shuttle spectators between the 2 groups of sections.The land is owned by forestry commision and nevis range so there will be a few strict rules in place regarding speeding on tracks and no illeagal practicing.Does anyone know when the list of riders …

Well, it looks like i'm going to be working in Edinborough for 2 weeks in march. That gives me a free weekend.. Any local events could come out to? Not necessarily to ride (haven't been riding this year. i'd ride crap!) i was thinking i might stay an extra day and go to Belfast for the indoor (saturday after). Then fly home sunday. hi all newbie here !!! i currently ride motorcross but since moving up to sheffield i have found areas that look good for trails and little area for MX so thinking of selling the crosser and buying a trials. i wondered if anyone could put me in the picture on how to learn to ride trials (i.e private clubs etc) i dont really want to turn up at an event without learning to ride first. anyone got any ideas on this and any places to try in or around sheffield and derbyshire thanks for any replys in advance regards mark

It appears that there is a distinct possibility of two clubs locally folding due to a lack of people coming forward to shoulder the load and or help out with the organisation etc. I have offered to do what little i can but it takes more than just one person and that is the problem. We all lead busy lives and we all have our own pressures on our time and resourses. However it will be a sad day indeed if either or both of these clubs fold due to lack of interest. It's not that there are a lack of entries more that the organisational duties are left to the same old few and in one case just two people. What do u think about the B class riders having to be on a 125 bike because i've just had to change to a 125 because of me being a B class rider They are allowed on a biger bike untill 1/1/2006 then they have to be on a 125 machine untill there 17th birthday Sherco Mad

Further to my observation that many observers do not know the rules here's one that drives many riders mad. The ruling on flags isn't "touching" or even Pushing a flag. it's h) The rider is held responsible for displacing a marker or support in an observed section whereby the observer considers it necessary to reinstate the flag /marker prior to the passage of the next rider The displacing of a marking not relating to the competitor

Hi All, New bloke here! I'm <almost certainly> going to return to the fold after a break of 10 years or so. I can no longer fight it... I plan to practice little and ride a trial every 3 weekends or so, depending on what's on in the 50 mile radius of my home near Cambridge. Back in the day that was Cambridge Matchless events, Nene Valley and Peterborough at Stibbington (probably my favourite trial for it's compactness and friendliness). I'm not about to go mad and cheat by practicing much (ahem), but I would like to get myslef (and a mate who is new to the sport) up to speed before clogging up the sections with my fat self heaving a bike out of the hedges. DISPLAY OF RIDING NUMBERS TO ASSIST OFFICIALS TO IDENTIFY RIDERS DURING AN EVENT IT WAS REQUESTED LAST YEAR THAT MACHINES HAVE THE RIDER LICENCE NUMBER CLEARLY DISPLAYED ON THE FRONT OF THE BIKE. TO SPEED UP THE PROCEDURE THE TRIALS COMMITTEE HAVE DECIDED CLUBS ARE TO PENALISE THOSE RIDERS WHO FAIL TO DO THIS WITH A 10 MARK ADDITION TO THEIR SCORE. IT MAY ALSO HELP RIDRS JUMPING ON THE WRONG BIKE! NUMBERS TO BE BLACK ON A WHITE BACKGROUND MINIMUM SIZE 2 INCHES USING THE LAST THREE DIGITS ONLY. Hi, Dan here.... I have been out of the trials scene for the last 5 years and am just starting to compete again. I am living in Milton Keynes at the moment. Just wondering if there are any local guys interested in doing to lift sharing to comps. Up for any event.... Whats your view on this guys??? I ride in the E.Yorks centre, where the debate is simmering nicely. Previously clubs ran with Red/Blue flags, then an easier variation with Yellows. Classes then did either all hard / all easy or a number of sections somewhere inbetween. Now several clubs (of which Middlesbrrough was a pioneer) are running another set of flags - Greens........ Reason....... This allows the Exp some tough Expert only sections, allowing the Inter to drop to the green route (thus not riding the proper easy route). The Greens (we call Clubman A) - get a route just for them & they do not have to ride any full hard route section. The Yellow (we call Cl…

In our part of the country where club memberships are small and run by members who are riders it has always been a problem getting observers. Events normally end up short of observers resulting in members giving up rides or sharing observer duties. What are other clubs doing to attract/reward people who are kind enough to observe or do they have some kind of system for riders to do the observing and ride.. Large membership clubs who have non riding members perhaps don't get this problem or do they?

how come theres been a pre 65 class for so long yet no classes for 76/82 machines etc , im refering to these years as IMHO these years were the years that trials bikes evolved taking gaint leaps in design/function etc! , i know theres a twinshock class/route! but these seem to be few and far between? isn't it time the ACU etc brought in the above cut off years (or similiar) there must be hundreds of twinshock/spanish bikes out there being done up ready to go!!! some local trial's ive competed in do a modern,pre 65 and novice easy route! but it seem's twinshock bike's sit in no mans land, ive posted this after reading nearly the same comment in trail bike magazine! y…
