So who will win the six days? Dougie must be favourite but I'd love to see Michael Brown win having been second so many times. Jack Price has ridden before on a 125 but should do much better on a 300. What do people think ?

The winker (deliberate typo) who scraped my car, but drove on without leaving a note saying they'd hit me. I always follow the rules that were set down years ago regarding parking at sections - always get behind the white line if there is one or ensure your car is totally off the road. Given where my car was parked over the week and the height of the scrape it was almost certainly a van (and a filthy white one at that) and therefore almost certainly one of the "support vehicles" travelling round and therefore a Trials person who hit it - which makes it pretty disappointing that they didn't have the balls to admit to it.

A quick question for all you with local knowledge of the Highlands. I will be coming up to the SSDT this year but one of my traveling companions cant stay the whole week so is looking to fly home on Thursday so I will be taking them to the airport, Easyjet fly out of Inverness and Glasgow but which woul be the easiest or most reliable airport to use, Inverness is 30 miles closer by my reconing but as I would imagine it is a smaller airport are the flight s more prone to being cancelled. Any previous experiances welcome.

Hi, I have a question about the SSDT, as an enduro rider I have no problem with the between section going or endurance. My question is, how hard are the sections? I have ridden trials on and off since I was 17, now 50, I now ride trials, both twin shock and modern at clubman level, was expert level in my 20's. I don't mind a struggle. Are most sections ridable for an above average club rider? This trial is on my bucket list. Many thanks in advance Glenn

Has the SSDT lost it ? yes a full entry but , A week to go and nothing no posts or build up .The last post march 16 and that was about Honda .When i was riding the trial all 20 of them there was a buzz about it but nothing now ! Has it gone the same way as the named nationals of old, forgot and just another trial ? . Look at photos of old 5 deep of spectators now look 50 if lucky. People dont even want go and watch . A total lack of build up for the ssdt

Cant find the routes on the SSDT site. Have they been published or am I looking in the wrong place?

I saw her throughout the week and I have to give credit to this lass for winning the Ladies trophy. She beat the reigning Ladies World Champion - Iris Kramer and also Maria Conway. Donna's a tiny wee lass who you'd never think could hike a bike round the Scottish for six days, but she did. Not only that, but she was always cheerful and had time for a laugh and a bit of banter. She does, however, need some work on her press presentation

Every year a few of us get together one night up in Fort Bill and visit the rather good curry house on the High Street for some nosh. Apart from the usual suspects (Slapper, Bigfoot, Fugly who I just take for granted will be there!), if anybody else is up for it, drop me a PM and we'll see what we can get organised

I just watched a video of day 3 of the SSDT is this event stop allowed these days? .

Well at last I've had time to look though and sort all the video from one of the TC camera's out this year. I've compiled a file of the week as a taster for you. It's on google video SSDT 2008. Oh some of Matt's helmet cam stuffs included too. I've also got all the video from this camera sorted by day, section and rider name and there's 675 clips totalling 30Gb or more. I'd love to be able to sort out a way of making it available like Andy does with the photos but I dont have the knowledge or facilities. Maybe Andy will have some ideas. I'll be sending it all to him soon but I'm in Korea so it may take a few days to get to him. Edit: BTW it's 49mins long so get a coffee…

Just wondering if any TC folks got an entry for 2010?

Word is the early entry numbers are down from the past few years, good time for first time riders to get an entry in, "Mr. Dabster" can't call yourself a trials rider until you have ridden the world's # 1 trial. The whole weeks experience lasts for the rest of your life, get em in, you know you want to, would like, should, could, don't cut it!! just do it.

Watched the 1st day at Lagnaha and saw Dabill get away with a "stop" at the end of the 2nd sub. Its amazing how such a knowledgable crowd applauds what was (IMHO) a clear 5. He must have been stationary parallell to the ends cards for 3-4 seconds before he decided what he was going to do. Are the observers briefed at all about the scoring regieme???

No not the 2011 routes a bit early for that! This year I toured around the trial with my little friend GPS. It doubled up as a speedo stopwatch and I am sure there was a horn in there some place as well. Well what am I getting at, the device has recorded all the routes for the week and I have just finished downloading them onto Garmin conect where they can then be viewed on google maps and earth. Further to this it gives all my information for each day speeds, altitude etc etc....... the times are a bit vague because I had to start it running during my 30 mins maint. time in the morning. If you're heading up from Englandshire for the Pre-65 or SSDT and normally go Glasgow -> Erskine Bridge -> Loch Lomond -> Crianlarich then life got a little bit easier over the past year. If you normally go up to Stirling then via Callander you can ignore this! The M74 motorway has now been extended into the centre of Glasgow so you no longer need to take the M73 then the M8 (which can be hell at certain times of the day) It's dead simple and as it's just one motorway straight in, you can't possibly get lost! As you approach Glasgow you would normally come off the M74 onto the M73 for a short distance then onto the M8. Don't. Stay on the M74. Follow the M…

This Ad on the TC Classifieds (I think 2 grand for a very tentative link to the SSDT is a bit optimistic!) reminded me... Back in my early days with the SSDT there used to be a car (a burgundy Peugeot I seem to recall) there every year with the Reg No "6 DAY". Anybody know who owned it and what became of it as I've not seen either car or Reg for yonks. At the time i thought it the coolest plate on the planet!
