Andy, I have a suggestion. Since about 80% of the posted topics on "Across the Pond" turns into Lane making some unrelated remark against the NATC, why don't you give him his own category. That way it will not clutter up the Across the Pond forum. AND In that way people who wanted to read this type of stuff could easily find it. Any suggestion for a title? Jack

Could there be a massive shootout of future champions at this years American World round? That's really the question I'd like to ask, could 06 be the year of first blood? There is a very good chance "Wiggy" as he's known, will make his first world championship appearance in the USA at the TCC American round. He's Britans hope to replace Dougie Lampkin as the man flying the union jack in world trials. He's the rider any American will have to beat to be world champion. Is Patrick Smage of age yet? Now that's the question of the hour? Patrick is our next and brightest hope for a future world champion from America. Could Smage take down Wiggy? Now that would be the sh…

My stomping ground.... I got a nice 2004 Sherco 2.9 earlier this year, have about 4-5 tanks of gas through it. Been riding some of the old stomping grounds I used to hit when I was a kid. More fun on a trials bike for sure, starting to get into decent bike shape. Anyway it been fun learning all I can thought I'd share a few pics of where I ride. I am lucky to be able to ride right from home my parents have some land in the country and all the old trails I rode as a kid are still right where they used to be This section goes on like this for a very long time, LOTS of gnarly sections like this to try and get over. I basically try to go slowly and get over as mu…

I was just looking at the standings after the GB round on Trialsonline.com when I noticed the provisional schedule for the 2007 year. The was no US round listed. Is that the way it will be or just maybe not? Anyone know? Sorry if this has already been discussed, I could find anything on it.

Well our California Youth Team is once again getting geared up for the Youth Nationals at the TTC in July. We have a few fund raisers going on to help us with the large expense to get the kids and bikes back there. First at our local ATA events my wife runs the youth team Hot Dog stand in which we sell hot dogs, drinks and snacks. Everything is on a donation bases so you can just pay what you want, our riders and family's are very kind and we often have 10's and 20's even though nobody eats that much After one event we found a $100.00 dollar bill in the jar and we don't know who left it, we thank that person very much Next we are having our own youth team trial o…

Many times, we are all just like politicians. We gripe a lot about things without really coming up with solutions, or being willing to try things to see if they might actually work because they are new or outside our comfort zone. I have been thinking about this for awhile now and decided it was time to throw it out there as guys like AMiller are starting to look at Gate Trials too, so I decided it would be better to begin a new thread than hijack the others. This is long, and I apologize for that, but I felt it needed detailed explanation to make my argument. So here it is. Since 1990 I’ve been in our club presidency more times than you can count on your fingers. …

Just received my 04 Duluth world round DVD, only watched the first day so far, but what a cracking trial. The rain may of spoiled it for the spectator, but the sections were brilliant in those condition. Doug, looked to be riding spot on, the crash and a five after, that! I would of put down to being shook up by the crash, then a chain off between two little rocks in a stream, just wasn't going to be his day no matter what he did. Best looking trial English type trial I have seen in another country, won't miss 05 thats for sure. Ho and get the DVD by trials TV, well worth it!! yours is on the way Kinnel.

Anyone else out there amused by the number of minders working with support class riders. The average time in the S line in NY had to be less than 15 seconds not much need for a timekeeper so I guess having someone carry the water is worth $40 to some riders.

It sure seemed that things were kind of boring around here these days, so I came up with an idea for us all to share a bit about our riding backgrounds and what brought us to this crazy sport here in 2008. I have been in many different modes over the decades, starting in 1969 with my Suzuki 90 - started competing in trials and enduro in 73 (Montesa) went to MX in 77(Montesa) then a long break from 79- 92. Back into Enduro and HS and Trials since then. Still ride street a little, but currently active in HS, Enduro, Trials and Vintage with too many bikes in the garage for my wife to understand. Rarely stuck with a single series for championship points- always tried to ride…

Its really dead here on the forum and especially dead in my area. Feel like im the last one left in Sw Missouri but I'm not ready to turn the lights off. Ive been trying to stir up some new riders mainly thru local woods and Enduro guys. Maybe the poll should have stated what would best get people involved in trials. My personal story I read about trials bikes in dirt bike magazines in the 70s bought a used one at a local dealer was introduced to the sport events by a co worker rode one year set out 25 years went back i guess reliving my youth and have ridden 5 years since

We are preparing for the 25th (or so) F-I-S 2-Day which will be held at Hard Rock cycle park in Ocala on March 4th and 5th. There will be 10 sections ridden 3 times each day with the emphasis on FUN! We had a club event on the 8th and my clubmembers cleared 5 new areas, so the variety will be from rocky sections to good camber hills. We are making sure the sections are of similar difficulty or a little easier than the class norm with the exception in the champ lines. They will be Natl Ex to Pro lines for a tune-up for the season. The entry fee is $20/ day and a $20 gate fee for the weekend, AMA required. They have camping hookups for $20 with Hotels and restaurants in abu…

So, my question of the day to those of you with kids, please ask them, Who is the World Champ in Trials? Do they Care? I know my son has no idea, and could honestly care less, then again, he had a choice between going fishing yesterday on the big lake and running around in a bass boat and going riding and he went fishing. I have to e-mail my daughter to ask her if she knows, but, I better check myself becuase I am not positive.. To those of you that have no kids, Does who is world champ influence your trials riding at all? Would it / does it, influence what brand of bike you ride?
