Youth Trials

Why don't the ACU implement a championship like this? They have it in the ladies championship so why not in the youths? I reckon it would boost entries massively, as I know many youth A riders who would love to ride in the British championship, but do not want to ride the full A class route. I know youth A's can ride the B route on a 'no points, no awards' basis, but why not make it an actual championship?

Following the result from last weekends A/B trial i think the ACU should throw the rule book in the bin and do the right thing. Lets have a run off trial Short v Sadler head to head Bracken rocks date to be arranged Barry Burton as C of course, run as a youth A National championship decider winner takes all. As Both riders deserve to win and it,s not fair to give the championship to the one that fits the rule book lets have it out on the bikes and not in the rule book. And a hand shake to start and finnish the trial. that way youth A championship will be decided on the bike and not in the rule book.

I don't know if its just me, but have I read the new rules correctly for A&B British Championship Classes this year: A & B ride the same route (Route A) and A class (and presumably B class too) who want to ride less severe sections ride Route 'B' on a no points basis. Seems to be a good idea to boost entries but IMHO the ACU have missed a trick by not making the 'B' route a sub-championship like the adults have. Just my opinion...

So who's yor money on this weekend A class has got to be Jack Challonor But he will be pushed by a lot of 1st year riders B class will be tight between jack shepard and richard sadler as ben morphett has gone into the A class two years early What do you think

Could someone explain /claify the age limits for b and c class and how a riders age is determined ? Sorry if this topic has been covered b4 .

The ACU have bowed to pressure and switched the Youth and Ladies national series to FIM rules for 2009. Hence Stopping is to be allowed.

Hello, I've been researching what bike to get my son. He's 9 and has been doing trials lessons at bumpy (birstall uk) and has been riding an Oset kids bike. He wants to get back into the petrol / gears he started on so ive been researching bike options. That research had brought me here and has been helpful to read other parents posts and questions. Ive been thinking the best bet would be a Beta 80cc. However there are not many juniors about. My question is, are the wheels interchangeable? for example. If I found him a senior 80, could I purchase some junior wheels? I feel he'd out grow a junior fast. Thanks

Just to confirm that round one of the 2009 championship will be in the Isle of Man, the first time we've held a round since the early 90's, can't remember the exact year but I rode so must be a while ago!!! Anyway, just wanted to say that so far the planning is going really well and it looks like it is going to be a brilliant trial. The sections will be based in a large quarry in the middle of the Island and should provide a real good mix of sections. An ACU representative was at the British Sheffield Youth round and made an announcement at the start that the ACU was thinking of changing the ages of the classes. They wanted to change the age classes, and the knock-on from this would be that any youth in the second year of the 'B' Class would be moved up to the 'A' class for 2019. I seem to remember this was to allow a younger youth to move up to 125? I voiced my concerns to the ACU Offical (sorry cannot remember his name) at the time, and told him you will be pushing the riders on to a harder route, this does not seem fair or safe to those riders, who are all expecting to still be riding the 'B' class next y…

There is concern amongst those involved in the youth championships, by the provisional dates allocated for 2018. In several instances there appear to be plans to hold one trial for A and B classes on one day of a weekend then another for the C and D classes on the second day. The problem arises since one needs to consider numbers of potential riders in the various classes, as far as the organisers are concerned, will just two classes competing raise enough riders? Then there is the impact on expense as far as the parents are concerned. My boy is 7.5 years old. He is a very tall lad for his age and is now too big for his oset. I'd like to get him onto a petrol bike, preferably a beta 80. Only problem is I can't find a medium wheeled bike for love nor money second hand. If I was to buy him a big wheel variant would he be eligible to compete with it in an ACU event? And if so what class would he be in? Im struggling to find any relevant info!!!

It's early days but there are only 14 riders entered at Mansfield Maun's Challenge Lusky A and B round as this is posted. There's only until the 15th February to get the entries in so Dad's will have to move quickly to get the entry in. Funnily enough it's seven in each class!

Hello all , I am trying to find a suitable trials helmet for my six year old son ,but cant find anywhear on the net to buy one ! he currently uses an mx style helmet but would like enter a local trial so i think we need a more appropriate item ? any recomendations would be a great help.

hi next year we are thinking of entering the youth mintex trial at richmond. i was just wandering how hard the trial is? what would i need to change on my bike ''beta 2011 evo 125cc''? and any other tips or help in hand preparing for the event thank in advance
