Picked up a great running '93 Fantic KeyRoo 212. Runs great but I questioned how it was set up after I got it home. I noticed a tube running from the top of the tranny to the top of the carb. Upon further thought, I pulled the plug and noticed how black it was (running rich). Then I saw how milky the oil was in the sight glass on the tranny. Obviously the previous owner didn't know what they were doing. So I got this part rectified. My question is, does anyone have a manual? Or a link to download? I need to know how much oil to add to the tranny - half way up the sight glass? I will do a flush with some full synthetic 5w30, run it, flush it, and run it again. Oil/fuel mix…

I want to try softening off the front forks of my 200. Unfortunately the manual doesn't go beyond telling me how to change the fork oil and I can't find a drawing of the forks anywhere. Can anyone enlighten me so I don't get any surprises when I open it all up? Are standard springs identified in any way? Are alternative spring rates available? Is the preload adustable? If so, what is recommended? What weight of oil is recommended? Should there be an air gap above the oil, and how much? Thanks in advance.

Part way through the trial on Saturday I noticed that my Fantic 200 was sitting more upright on the prop stand and I had to be much more selective about choosing the right place to park up. I think this coincided with the bike falling over because the prop stand sunk into the ground. My first thought was that the prop stand had bent as it has always looked pretty flimsy. On removing it though, the weight indicates that it's more sturdy than I thought and there is no sign of kinking or damage to the paint. The attached image shows it with the pivot axis horizontal. If it has bent, the bend just below the rubber buffer looks like the culprit, though it does also make …

Hi: I sent the crank of my Fantic 300 to be rebuilt to my local shop and the guy said that he can't take it apart. I am not sure of all the details but he says that it's not because there is something wrong with the crank but because he doesn't have a jig that has the right size / shape to accommodate that specific crank (the plate that goes between the two halves to push against). So... Anyone has has a Fantic crank rebuilt in the US and could recommend a shop that could do mine? Thanks.

Hi I have a rear kick minarelli 156 powered fantic 200. Starts fine and seems to run ok, well until the kick start broke off. I decided it is a good time to investigate the transmission oil leak before searching for a kick start. The oil is coming from the gear change shaft seal. The seal is being held in place by what looks like metal glue, as a result of damage to tbe engine case. Apart from continually scanning ebay, has anyone any idea where I can source a left hand engine case, or maybe there is a miracle worker out there able to fix these things. I dont want to pull it apart unless there is a good chance of repair. Thanks Tony

  11. The bike has been sitting for 8 yrs. The bike is like New and the carb was clean as can be. I have no problem kicking it over without the plug in. As soon as I put the plug in, It locks the kick starter in the top position. After 5-6 tries to kick over , it will kick over with lots of compression. After one kick thru , it locks up again for 5-6 kicks. The kick starter feels like it is totally locked it the top position when it takes 5-6 tries. I’m afraid that I will break the kick starter shaft. I also don't have a spark? Do you have any ideas on this? Thanks again Jerry

I have thought about and maybe need to renew my crank bearings and other related engine bearings etc, I think I was informed when and where I cannot recall hence my question. The gear cluster can stay untouched in the one half of the crank case and allow the work to take place. ? is this correct. ( I would like to think so) I think I was also told you need to know which is he correct side of the crank case to remove/split leaving the gears in place. ? I so wish a manual was available for these bike. Any help or advice greatly appreciated. Ken. Should add other than the flywheel puller is there any other special tools I would need. ?

Hi everybody. I have the Minareli FM350 engine in my 200. Before the electrics packed up it ran a treat. (soon to be sorted) But I have a question for you guys in the know. Is it common to struggle to select neutral. I can do it relatively easy with my hand, but do I struggle to select with my heel. Not over concerned, if I remember 30 years ago on my Montesa and Bultaco I had the same problems. But it would be nice to know if other have the issue. There may even be an easy fix. Thanks in advance Ken.

  16. Hi Guys and Gals, I have just bought a Fantic 200. I have started getting it in order and found today when cleaning and refilling forks with new oil. That one of the Fork top nuts which has a Grub screw in the middle has one of the Internal Ball and Spring Valve missing. Now do I actually need these in ? will what little air is passed through this small hole have a big affect on the forks. Or how about I block off the hole ? will this have an affect on the forks. But if anybody can point me in the right direction to buy new ones maybe that is what I should do. I also have another big job to complete, it will not start NO Sparks, I have ordered a new ele…

I've just bought a brand new Mikuni VM 26 carb from the UK apparently jetted for my newly acquired '74 Cota 247. Problem is that the Cota needs some restoration 1st and the Mikuni will not be needed for a while yet. So I was thinking of trying it out on my Fantic 300 in the meantime which still runs the original Dellorto. My question to those in the know is, what Mikuni jetting should I install for the the '84 Fantic 300 just to get me going? I'm sure it will be different to the Cota 247 jetting.
