Gas Gas

Hi, i have a Gas Gas 300 pro 2009, & since day one when i bought it off Sam Haslam it has done nothing but pink most of the time, i had the carb set up exactly how it is reccomended (according to GG UK), 125 main jet, 45 pilot, 3 slide, JJH needle with clip in the middle, doesn't seem to like that though, it was a bit chokey on bottom end & at one point it sounded like it was nearly completly out of fuel but had half a tank left in, had a look at the plug & it was really black & oily which i presume is a very rich mixture which has created this. I dropped the clip on the needle one down & seems a bit better now but pinking, not when you rev the bike, …

I have a '14 250 with the Hidria ignition. Once the bike warms up it has a significant misfire right around 1/8th throttle. It's right where you hold the throttle to cruise, so it's really annoying when transferring between sections. I've heard this is a known issue with the Hidria ignition. I know someone else who has the exact same bike and it runs flawlessly. So not every bike is affected. So I'm assuming it's fixable. Has anyone who's had the misfire been able to solve it? I'm willing to throw some parts (stator, CDI) at it to try to resolve it but I can't seem to find any of the Hidria ignition parts here in the U.S. I've tried Jim Snell and Lewisport. A…

I live in Ketchum, Idaho which is single track heaven, near the ski resort of Sun Valley (where I've taught skiing for 22 years) Last few years I've been all over the place on my 04 YZ250F. We have gads of highly technical single track which tend to leave my YZF stinking, hehe. This year I am upgrading to a KTM 250SXF, and the thing was backordered forever driving me mad. Having read all there was to read on every forum, etc on the KTM, I began to get bored. Now back in 1976, I was recovering from a very nasty crash on my RM250, and bought a RL250 exacta, which I rode quite a bit and even competed on. So I started looking at trials bikes.........alot. In a truly ame…

I thought the Bump stop was looking a bit tatty but until I compared to a new one I realize it was long overdue! this was on a 2004 Sachs shock and probably the original rubber. Note! The picture is only a comparison not how the shock is reassembled the rubber is fitted the other way up.

  12. Hi I have a gas gas 125 pro 2011 does anyone else have or had this problem, the oil from the gear box is trickling out of the breather pipe, just emptied the gearbox and refilled it with 400ml, is level halfway on the glass it's not coming out in bucket full and got a good 350ml out when I emptied it thinking there must be some left in couldn't possibly get the lot out could it be the crank seals, they were replaced only 12 months ago, when we had gearbox problems (selector) any advice appreciated

Hello ! I just purchased a brand new 2002 280 txt pro .. it had just been sitting in it's box for 12 years believe it or not!! Changed the oil and the coolant as a precaution and took it for a ride.. had the coolant boil over. Steam and liquid coolant shooting out of the vent hose. pulled over and turned off the motor. The fan was definitely running at this point! The upper rad hose was hot, the lower rad hoses were cool. To change the coolant I unscrewed the brass drain plug at the bottom .. not much coolant came out, probably 250-300 ml.. topped it up with 50/50 dexron mix. Put the plug in, hand snugged it, made sure the rubber washer was in place. Didn't really …

I have a 2015 TXT PRO 125 and feel the clutch is a bit heavy. Is there a remedy for this? I have seen the video on youtube of the 2009 model having the clutch plates thinned, is this the answer for the 2015 model also?

Hey all, I've had a similar issue with the bike blubbering on downhills on my Beta with a Keihin PW28 and now I'm having it on my 125 TXT Pro. I've stripped and cleaned the carb, made sure the jetting is correct for my riding locations and also adjusted the air mixture screw to around 2.5 turns out and I've got the floats level with the casting at around 18 mm when held at 45 degrees. Raising the idle seems to help and I've veried the RPM on the Hardline Tacho which is reading around 1,400-1,500 RPM (bike in neutral/flat surface) to stop it from blubbering on downhills... is this normal? Regards, Jason.

  17. Hi all, as you can see from my post title my bike has died, A sorry attempt at taking up a sport if ever there was one. Whilst on my first day ride out at Kinnerstons farm, Llangollen, the engine made a few funny clicks followed by fast tapping. Turns out small bits chipped of the edges of the ports, scored the side of the piston then got smashed against the head for a few seconds before dying. lost compression etc. Problem seems to be finding a replacement barrel/piston/head. Its an old bike and the odd similar parts i've seen are asking for silly money (£170 for a barrel). Does anyone know if i can fix it some how cheaper, re line the barrel etc. Failing that w…

Having some issues getting the front wheel out of my txt 250 pro. I have undone all of the screws on the bottom clamps and was expecting to just tap the shaft through, but it is stuck solid, is it normally that tight? Don’t really want to hit it too hard if there is something else stopping it.

I interested for any opinions regarding why a 250 is a better bike than a 280 or 300. I will have to decide soon on a 2010 and have just come off a 280. Many riders are saying buy a 250 I have ridden both but havent lived with either so am interested in debate on the strengths of the diff bikes.

Ok, I bought a used Gas Gas Txt 320 and the fan was bad when I bought it. I replaced the fan with a new model and everything was fine. After riding for about 2 hours the fan quit working. I went back to check out what the problem was and found that the relay that the fan hooks up to burnt up. I replaced the relay and the new one did the same thing. I double cecked all conections and they are hooked up the exact same way as the 280 we have. Please help! Thanks!
