Well, with OSSA in difficulty also Kokusan Denki (the japanese maker of OSSA's fuel injection system) name is gone, it's now bought by german Mahle corporation I see on their web page: Effective January 1, 2016, the company name of Kokusan Denki Co., Ltd. has changed into “MAHLE Electric Drives Japan Corporation” Good thing is Mahle is very good quality stuff, I've bought filters etc consumables from Mahle for my BMWs (they're OEM producer for BMW too) and really top notch quality, so I don't see it being a problem. But pity they had to change their nice sounding Jap name into some rough german "Ramstein-ish" sounding name. Anyways, just sayin', those Kokusan…

I'm contemplating buying a 2012 tr280i, but am concerned about the spares situation now that the factory is closed. I spoke to a chap at Trials & Tribulations who was very gloomy and basically told me not to touch it. Birketts are currently closed so can't ask them. Does anyone have any views or advice? Thanks

Hi all, I went for a rather long ride and both my brakes seized up. At this point, I'm focusing on the rear. I thought maybe it was the weight of the lever acting on master, making the rear brakes drag and heat up. Should there be a return spring on the rear pedal, if so where does it go? My '74 Mar is really, really difficult to start from cold. Lots of kicking, plug heating and tickling it eventually fires and runs. There's no 'almost starting' - the penultimate kick is no different from the previous 20 (or 30). When it's warm it runs and ticks over fine and will re-start first time but leave it a few hours, let alone days, I'm back thinking of selling ! Current plug is an NGK BP5ES Any ideas ?

Hi all i have a 250 mar that I've restored, i had the engine rebuilt, new carb it fires up easily but it smokes quite badly, running 50.1 fuel, anyone any ideas as where to start?

The OSSA TR77 250 that I am restoring to ride has an assister spring (expansion type from round bar which protrudes from inner side of swing arm to end of chain tensioner arm) as well as the radial spring on the chain tensioner/rear brake shaft. I have seen bikes with & without this extra spring so what are you running on your bikes, is the radial spring on its own ok or does it require the other as well, which arrangement works best.

Hi, recently bought a 2012 Explorer and have read a ton of posts, but have a few questions: What is the lowest tire pressure I can run? I read lotus54 put in a tubless system (I have this in my dirtbike). But, since this is a trials bike, I am wondering how low I can go w/o pinch flats... (The online manual seems to say about 7 & 10 PSI (.5/.6 bars) That seems a lot for the rear tire) What about initial suspension setup for trials riding? and then for trails? The manual doesn't seem to have anything on this at all. I know I need to experiment, but I really need a starting point for ~160lbs. Does the rear shock need a special tool or can I re-use someth…

im new to ossa so many questions to over next few weeks, just got myself a 1972 250 mar , starting with my first question , i need to get a good match for the frame colour , any help would be great to get me started . i also need engine case bolts

Anyone had their TR frame powder coated? Will there be an issue with the heating process affecting the bonded parts? Not too keen on the frame colour of my 12 bike and fancy something a bit different. I assume the factory bikes with the white and green frames have been powder coated but just checking that assembly of the actual frame wasn't done afterwards. Any advice?

How do I remove the swing arm without removing the engine? I have every off of it (wheel, brake, chain tensioner, guide), and I undid the two large torx bolts on either side of the swing arm, but the swing arm does not want to pull out. thanks!

new cosmetic work my 2012

My green baby is sick and has a lot of bearing noise. I believe the top end is fine the bike has a ton of power and not a ton of time on it. Assuming it's only the lower bearings can anyone help me out and tell me what parts are needed to swap out the crank bearings? Anything else I should do / buy when in there? Best place for parts? LewisSport is out they are at SSDT for 2 wks. Input appreciated.

Ossa have released a press statement and a new video of Colmer riding the bike. With all the investment they are making production starts in September and they anticipate selling 1,250 bikes this year, then 2,500 in 2011. It would be good to see them in the WTC. Let's play fantasy trials riders. Who do you think they will have as their top rider?

Hi All, I've always liked how the ossa TR280 rides after a brief ride on one last year , and have had my eye out for a good second hand one to purchase. But after whats happened and reading the posts on "Kokusan Denki No More" What are peoples genuine opinions on taking the plunge and buying one ? ie. For's.....You could probably get a good one now for reasonable money ? Against.....Getting it repaired (spares) problems ? Thanks For your opinions.......Craig.

Hi everyone. I have no idea what I have got and would like some help. I have picked up an old Ossa in the UK. It has a frame number of B630024. Have trawled through the various frame identification lists Is it a TR77? Any help or advice very welcome. Regards

HI, Can anyone help. I have a 2013 Ossa TR280i and i have notice on the LHS of the bike there are 2 wires not connected and without a connector. Upon closer inspection they appear to be Green and Black and i think they should be connected to the Sensor Gasolina. Can anyone shed some light on the function / location of this. The bike runs fine !

Look, it's a slow day at the office and I've been worrying about the price of this here, new bike? In comparison; what makes (made ) the Montesa 4RT so expensive? Is it because it's a 4stroke engine and they have more mechanicals?...but Beta/Sherco seem to manage to keep the price down on theirs .OSSA has a 2stroke. Or is it because it has an alloy frame?..again Beta seem to be able to moderate their prices. OSSA has a steel tube frame. Or is it (as I suspect ) Fuel Injection...how much does that add to the price of a trials bike? Has anyone replaced the fuel filter? (Modern OSSA) I'm getting a 'fuel pump over current' which on every other bike I've ever had means a partially plugged fuel filter. I believe it is more time consuming than popping out the gearbox. Bike still runs great- I wouldn't have known but I put the software on to check things out. (Around 270 hours) Mark
