I do, Honda being a massive Corp and producing the most motorcycles of any manufacturer, has to comply with the regs in EEC (Rest of World, ABS isn't mandatory) Keeping the Montesa name, not only for nostalagia and marketing - allows them a niche, I guess Another example is the old aircooled Suzuki DR350 engine, last sold by Suzuki in 1999/2000 and won't meet world wide emission regs nowadays But you can still buy the same DR350 Suzuki engine and airbox/carb set up, brand new from Beta in 2016, sold as the Beta Alp4 trailbike Beta don't have to meet the same regs, as they are a low volume manufacturer

I stand corrected Eu votes for abs & rest of world doesn't & you can have a choice I'm not keen on abs either and not one of my bikes (road/trail/trial) has it or traction control The eu are trying to make it fail safe, which riding a motorbike will never be

I think it's just bikes over 600cc, from manufacturers who exceed a certain volume of sales I think all trials bike manufacturers fall below the volume level - including Montesa

Most branded Super Unleaded contains very small amounts of ethanol anyway, so I use that 3 out of my 5 bikes are EFI now and the road bikes are left for 6 months over winter with no special treatment - key just turned off Come Spring - they are started up & just ridden off, no dramas & have been using the same practice on those EFI models since 1995 with no ill effects & are just serviced to the manufacturer's schedule Same with the 4RT - washed and parked up, sometimes for a month My other 2 bikes are carb and after every ride I turn off the petrol tap & let them run until they stall - again no dramas with either petrol in plastic or metal tanks I cut the lawns this week, with my Honda mower which has been stood with petrol - 95 unleaded since last October in the carb Started 3rd pull and ran perfectly I think the ethanol thing is a myth which is overblown

Yep prices are going crazy, £3000 for a 315R is barmy, I only just paid over that for a brand new one from BVM in 2004, last of the line white model Can't wait for 4RT prices to climb, though

Pads NN3 are same as 4RT and still avaialble 315R Rear Mudguards are drying up, but you can cut down a 4RT one Other stuff like kickstarts/exhausts and some other bits are getting more scarce, but not impossible YET
