  1. Made me chuckle
  2. So why are they so popular? Good dealers? Beta seem to sell by the shedload, they can't be all that bad?
  3. Only a problem if VOSA stop you or you're involved in a serious RTC and the Police and VOSA experts can attribute any blame to you and the bike rack legality
  4. Just fit a 9, up front Then buy a 42 AND 43 for the rear Swapping isn't a big job & then you can experiment with both options to see which YOU like best Only YOU will know which suits your style, not us
  5. Nice pic - great stuff
  6. johnnyboxer replied to johnc's topic in Yamaha
if it's a DID rim, which I'm sure they are - then a Montesa one should be the same
  7. Can you imagine a KTM Trials bike with WP suspension, they own WP so they can design their own suspension Lush................
  8. All true - except the cost savings on import duties are EEC wide not just Spain Yamaha do the same in Italy That's the real reason - trade tarriffs going back to the 1980's when Honda bought Montesa Trials bike production is a spin off & the cheapest source of World Championship titles
  9. Must be important
  10. johnnyboxer replied to jj65's topic in Montesa
    £6999
  11. A GasGas lookalike
  12. Best to keep them out of sight at home & when transporting to & from venues - a van is best Trailers & racks advertise what you have
  13. I find the same, must be me However watching very good riders @ ssdt & Scott on 4RT's they do seem to be expending more effort getting the bike through the sections than their counterparts on 2T's Shame because they are lovely bikes
  14. johnnyboxer replied to jj65's topic in Montesa
I dunno about waiting 20 years, it's still worth what I paid for it 5 years ago, as a used bike.................unlike a Sherco/GG/Beta Good 4RT's don't drop a penny, if you buy used 300 RR - I still reckon it'll be nearer £10k, than your £8k....................................blimey a Repsol 260 is £7k and looks like they may be discontinued now
  15. johnnyboxer replied to jj65's topic in Montesa
If it's $9999 in the US, it'll be nearer £10k in the UK - that's how the $-£ thing usually works unfortunately No Repsols? Maybe existing Repsol 250 & 260's will be become iconic classics I do hope so
  16. johnnyboxer replied to jj65's topic in Montesa
Indeed, still the one to have - if a 4RT is your bag I think I'm glad I have a 2007 Repsol - at least I know what it is & I have all the decent parts fitted from the off RR - underwhelmed for me & could have been so much more
  17. I had the same with S3 alloys and returned them I now have Apico alloy ones fitted & they are flat After spending £70+ on the S3 alloys, i didn't want the faff of filing them - to be fair to S3 they do state the pegs have a 15 degree tilt and Bou likes it that way

  20. Kill switch for me, worked ok for the last 30 years
  21. Dad's right to a point Cars & Motorcycles in sport or recreation are seen as maybe anti social & not 'green' for our green countryside Take trail riding - 25 years ago we got no bother at all, now the focus is on us & we're under pressure from all corners - Police park up on the fell near Horsehouses in Coverdale (Park Rash & Blue Bar country) to check trail riders who ride a legal road trail from Pateley Bridge area - true Trials land is also under pressure Cycling & Triathlon is seen as healthy & 'green' & Eco friendly Sad but true, plus it's cheap I guess
  22. Good news
