best option price reliability simples etc would be a 315 with a hebo tank giving an extra liter and good for 25 miles i would think, my francis barnett with a 2.5 liter ty80 tank will easily do a 25 mile road trial.
-
very very grey area.. you can drive your mobility buggy anywhere without fear or favour until something happens and i suspect that much the same is true of kids electric toys ( ride on bikes and buggys) so the oset is not far if at all removed from them. however i'm sure that should an 'incident ' occur it would be as clear as daylight where the fault lie.
-
you not going to fail an mot for not having an number plate.. you can get it done on frame no. alone..
-
only americans could think up a law as dumb as that.. how many kids you see licking there bikes clean doh.. no brainer.. now just a 12.5 trillion dollar debt to sort out.. by borrowing another 2.5 trillion..
-
sorry to be vague onthis but there is something the yorkshire boys are using that is pukka and cheaper electrix? maybe?
-
two simple words.. be sensible the heart is not a machine and just because you can ride for hours, win races. do triathlons well, does not mean your heart is fine. At 27 i was a damned good cyclist ( first three every weekend) heart and lungs of an ox i thought until quite by chance i found myself hooked up to an ecg and from there to hospital and from there to operating theatre from there to being in a different room to my heart! and all by pure chance... dont believe because you can do this or that that all is okay.
-
sadly heart rate monitors arent all there cracked up to be if they were that good everyone in the hospital would be wearing them.. lose the weight ( great effort thus far) and on the bike ride easy.. lifes not a race.
-
i'd look to do any and all time and observation trials i could in the run up, i'd also attempt to do your club trials without looking at the sections first. but best advice is to ride and ride, maybe even do moorland hare and haounds or two on the trials bike as well.
-
well yougotta look at it this way, if your after Beta specific OEM quality parts then lampkins is your place but if your shopping list contained generics than others may possibly offer competativly priced alternatives
-
i think there was a bit of 'upset' this year over the mk1 amals with a built in choke so keep it simple. surrey cycles will certainly set you on the path but a little tweaking may be req as all bikes are different esp cubs where a little cough or hesitation off closed throttle may need some work to clear or may not even be evident at all
-
you want the amal mk1 concentric for off the shelf stuff. the main issue will be getting the entry though about three years trying seems to be the going rate at the moment
-
fair questions, however i suspect that trials bikes are made of generally fairly decent gear and condidring there working enviromnet dont do half bad and as for the retail price they are not expensive ( a middle of the road half decent mountian bike would start at 3k with top comp gear going for 5k.. thats no engine..) sure theres a manufacturer an importer and a retailer and the thing has to get from southern europe to you so them margins are mighty thin i suspect. i'd go so far as to suggest that warranty repairs are parts paid for by importer and labour FOC from the retailer..
perhaps only the bikes on the frech market were recalled as the brit bikes were already better? gasgas made simaler claims some time ago when faced with grey imports ( grey imports which now seem to have dispappeared which perhaps proves the point)
-
not right.. the hd ( hydraulic damped) forks have internal springs etc they came from the 175 bikes. ( according to my very old bantam book that makes the magna carta look like a reprint)
-
they can harmonise all they like i aint paying mine and a greeks taxes
-
deffo the ethanol in your fuel old chap and i believe that you chaps have w higher percentage than we do in the UK, this is an issue that became obviuos late last and early this year with glassfibre tanks ( at least one retirement in the pre65 scottish confirmed as a result)and older sealer been particulary sensitive to the ethanol alternative resins in the make up of tanks are available ( at a little price) as are alternative sealers . knowledge of the issue i would expect as a minimum from a tank retailer we even had an article 6 months ago in our club newsletter. there are no guarantees in life but some purport to have the answers
-
for all you read/ hear about this brand v that brand any smokeless two stroke oil will do the trick i 've used all the brands and found no real difference except perhaps in smoke level I use 70-80 ml of oil for every 5 litres of juice i run all my two strokes ( villiers, fantic, beta) on super unleaded , the beta certainly prefers it.
-
Amal slides wear in 15 years i've changed two so thats about 15 tyres to one slide so insignificant really. keep the carb clean use an air filter properly ( cleaned after every trial etc and you'll help your carb last)
the OEM carb was chosen because it worked for a price, there may be alternatives but how much time and money will you spend chasing that nirvana when an established product is readily available.
-
fork seal blown on one of the legs of my 200, before I take out the lump hammer , it looks like the seal is held in by a spring clip. Do i just pull the leg off, dump the oil in an enviromentaly safe way.. whip out the clip poke out the seal and replace with new.. or is life never that simple
-
five year old helmet!! get a new one and save your head the cost will be nothing to been able to walk and talk...
-
worlds no 1 pre 65 trials club worlds best trials club website any event worth doing ( and some not!) regs etc here.. http://www.yorksclassictrials.co.uk/
Yarkshure..
-
you need to get that garage tided up, the noisy clutch seems consistant and regular , its the work of minutes to whip the cover off and see where the noise is coming from i 'd suspect its okay
-
Fantastic trial a great day out trialling with proper sections, only had 1 tight turn in the entire trial otherwise it was straightforward up the hill over the rocks fantastic. nice to see the reliance trophy at the start ( it puts the FA cup to shame) some great names on there Andrews lampin Sandiford adcock
my understanding is that the whole thing is only put on by a very small team of people ( 3 or so) so well done to them, best round of the PJ1. NBBR so far.
-
did you check if you had any fuel left.. did you run on reserve.. if the bikes running out of fuel it will normally rev a bit or 'fluff' ( when it happens you know whats happening)
-
my 2003 rev 3 will only run knock free on super unleaded ( doesnt matter what brand) i run PJ1 silver fire at 70.1
-
seems fair tbh. a semi works effort used for one trial, excellent provenace all the bits you could ever want if you were able to make a benifit from them. in thirty years it might seem cheap. besides what else would you spend the money on..
