  1. I assume you mean Giza. I wouldn't recommend visiting Gaza presently. Could be a "blast".
  2. Got to hand it to the man. Major kudos Diego. Respect. Trivia: who was the oldest man to win a round of the world championship and how old was he? Extra brownie points if you can name the round, venue and year.

  4. it OK sirSherco, everyone knows the Aussies are behind the Kiwis
  5. Does Isreal count? Don't take any clothes. You won't want to wear them at this time of the year.
  6. Funny thing was that the first weekend I was here Pete Boettcher took me out to a national down Hamilton way and the accent of the clark of the lcourse was familiar. Turns out he's also a saffer and used to ride in Jo'burg. Small world. Trials riders, the world over, are cut from the same cloth!
  7. Hey John, I seem to be getting further away from Mecca! If it wasn't for the weather I would have moved to Scotland but since I've been here it's been pretty cold too. I'll get round to it. Just got to get settled in then make an excuse to see the step-family in May. Tim
  8. Might be an idea getting one of the California guys to go and look at it with you. Maybe Ringo..hmmm maybe not. Nah seriously, I'm sure someone will help you out. TFT

    News

I suppose I'm well overdue a posting but to fill in those of you who don't know: after 2 and a half years of being unable to get employment in South Africa I decided to get the hell out. So I moved to NZ. Well I found a job in 7 weeks and am having a ball. I'm flatting presently 'cause the wife and kids are only due to arrive in a months time so why waste money? Bought a car today so it's one more part of the equation knocked off. Next is a house then a bike. Management is fine with me getting an '07 Gasser so can't it be bad. I've ridden several trials here, Peter Boettcher (local gasser agent and sometimes lurker on these boards) has been kind enough to let me ride his '78 Sherpa in trials. Hard work are them old bikes. Great stuff in a straight line but boy do have to give them a nudge to get round corners (yup I've been riding against modern bikes). Standard of trials here is much the same as Cape Town but boy does it get slippery here.
  10. Several times American champ. Mentor for both Bernie Schrieber ('79 world champ) and Marland Whaley. Not in the same league as Mart, Malc etc but not far off. Co-authored a really good "how-to" manual which is still relevant today. Respect! (You owe me Lane )
  11. John, first you start dropping names (Gordon Jackson) then you come up with this. Gawd you're turning into an anorak !
  12. '07 doesn't do it for me. It wouldn't stop me buying one though.
  13. You said it. You'll never live this down.
  14. Clearly all are graduates of the "John Lampkin" school of trials.
  15. So Langston pulled off another west coast championship. When will he move up to the big boys? But the real story is the national championship. Carmichael & Reed even and Stewart 5 points back and only one race left. Gonna be a good one.

    Motocross!

Staffolococci (sp?) tried damn hard to take my right leg away from me. As Lane says it's resident in hospitals and is very difficult to get rid of.
  17. Yup, I bought a pair. Brill they were. Best shocks I ever owned The rates wre just right. Wish I had 'em now. But I do know who's got them. Any probs, contact Pete Edmundson to find him do a search on Derrick Edmundson and he'll help you out. Yes Pete is Pauls dad.
  18. Is it just me or does this topic go over your heads too?
  19. Biaggi got bounced 'cause a) he was a prima-donna, expensive and c) didn't deliver.
  20. As some of you know the situation in South Africa has, over the last few years, become quite fraught. In the last two and a half years I have been unable to find permanent employment here in spite of being highly skilled and highly qualified. Some of you also know that I have been brewing plans for some time to emmigrate to New Zealand. Well that time arrives on Thursday. I'm outta here! Vamoose! My wife and kids will remain in SA while I set up in NZ and follow after winding up here. I have been fortunate to have made contact with a member of these forums in Auckland who in addition to helping me with my job hunting there has also offered to put me up and has even offered me the loan/use of his bikes in local trials. Whatta guy! Take a bow Peter. I won't be disappearing and I will be accessable via pmail.
