  1. I don`t believe any of the bike engineers came up with the easy up stand. Seems to be a safety feature shoved down their throats.
  2. I seem to remember we ran 11t cs and 46 or 48 rear sprocket. That will change the need for any clutch work and that mighty little engine could pull my 190 lbs up some pretty nasty hills.
  3. Gaz you did not mention entirely how it started, I would try new pads if you really think no air in the system. Rear brakes on a Beta is the worst to bleed. I have spent days to get it right.
  4. I have never seen oil go out the breather unless over filled or upside down.
  5. The earlier bikes all came as a 250, but the 270 kit was available. The cylinder has no markings that I can see as I have the kit on a bike and still have the original cylinder.
  6. If you add oil you probably lose amount of travel in the forks. Are you saying that you have used all the compression on the spring side? You could make a spacer for the spring if you have.

    Beta Rev 50

Had a 2002 for my son that color.

    GG Boy

I`m pretty sure the boy only took 150-200. The full size 50(80) took the 450.
  9. Jordi was just doing a little practice in the hot arizona sun.
  10. You didn`t mention how old the bike is and condition. I`d check the exhaust as the small pipes can pack up and it causes those small engines not to breath.
  11. As always very nice Gimpy, maybe some pictures of the other upgrades would show the daddy`s the real potential of these bikes.
  12. Did you loosen the top fork yoke bolts first? If you did not loosen the clamp bolts it might not turn, just thinking out loud without seeing it.
  13. You have not found any links to fault the bikes, because the 97-01 gassers had very little problems. Biggest thing to watch would be engine slap (noise). Ten years of running the big bore is a long time unless the cylinder has been re-lined. Great bike in there day, the 321 is over kill. A 280 would be the better choice.
  14. If you ride mud or sand (loose dirt) it might make a difference, but I`ve seen top riders wear out a practice tire to nothing without any change in performance. With emphasise on rear wheel riding, pressure is more where the grip is found. If you can afford to replace the tire often it could help the mental side of the sport.Just like any national everybody shows up with fresh tires, typical of our concern of our own self worth.
  15. You just need to clean out all the jets and blow out the air passages. Been talkin` to too many car mechanics again.
  16. You won't need a gasket unless you let yur kid clean it dean.

    Kickstart mechanism

Woody , I never had a SWM. The Climber had the stop on the bolt below the K/S shaft that most people thought was the oil drain. Could that have sheared??? Just a thought.

    clutches

I think you are saying that your clutch is sticking when first started. Always point in a open direction and use third or 4th gear to break plates loose. Some use this method before starting,I use it after with a small wheelie.
  19. The music might be better than the Bullsh?t that was on the original video. People are quite rude these days to put it mildly.
  20. Better to ride and work on the basics than wait and not ride at all. Trials takes years of practice. When you do upgrade your bike you will quickly improve and be motivated by how much fun the 'new' bike is.
  21. This has always been a sore spot with Beta. First gear has always been useless to me. The quick fix is a smaller counter shaft sprocket. I had a 92 world round bike that had a 1 tooth larger rear spocket that just did not quite fix the issue. I love Beta ,but the gassers have the best 1st gear of any bike.
  22. I would go with a larger pilot jet. A lean pilot would cause both the hard starting and the knock.
  23. A stock txt80 is not much louder than a ty80 unless the exhaust has been modified.
  24. To sirhc, if you thought the 03 was fine and the 06 was the same you would not notice how great the 08 really shined. By the way ,did you have a 2000,2001,2002,03,04,05 and 06 to compare too? The 03 just handled a bit odd and power was soft.
  25. You want a 2004 or newer. The weight savings made are well worth it. And yes the '08 was the best rev3. I believe the '03 was the worst. You are coming off the worst year of the techno so any rev3 would be a drastic improvement. Good luck on your search.
