  1. Anybody used these pattern kits ? - looks very original. Mine likewise starting to peel around the edges
  2. Bought one after seeing them at SSDT but on a 2013 GG Factory Rep it loses all pressure in one lap of a southern (I.e. no rocks) club event, just like an IRC does on these flanged rims. Gutted, so reverted to x lite on same rim and no problems at all on a dry rocky road trial. Subsequently have tried the same 803GP on an old style GG rim with a rim band and very impressed, grippy and I think it will wear well.
  3. curiously there are still new ones advertised on the evil bay ...
  4. Great video, remember seeing you all, which number are you?
  5. Does anybody know if the new Evo's, I think 2014 & 2015 Factorys and 2015 standard, that sport the new ignition system have an additional flywheel weight fitted for the uk market, as they have previously, at least the 250 & 290, 300 models.
  6. Some local (south) riders have just been using a tube, at least on Evo's with the fanged rim, no probs. Not sure if this work on the GG rim.
  7. Think its a great move, especially if he does the BTC. He's the only one knocking on the door of the current top tier, hope JL lends him some waterproofs and gets him to the Scotland too.
  8. There are many well documented ways on this forum to tone it down some IF required. Have fun !
  9. If you are focussed on competitive performance over a trial competition, 250. If you just a want to have fun, 300. Easy.
  10. BTC @ Addingham Mooreside on Sunday, National Trust or something ?
  11. The Thames club have a proper wobblers route, generally monthly around Surrey. And Crowthorne have adult beginners at Brackendene, Addlestone second Saturdays in the morning before the youth section. Actually pretty well catered for in the area, and all very friendly, turn up and you will be sorted.
  12. Similar experience with new to me 280 Racing. Went from middle needle clip down one, ok in sections but pinky on the going, still needs to go down another slot to the bottom notch. Actually suspect the slide needs to be richer, but at £60 will try make it better with the needle.
  13. I'm pretty sure the clash with the Bemrose too would of taken many potential road registered competitors from the Kings Norton event. Communication and a bit of planning. One week later (this weekend's weather notwithstanding) might of made all the difference.
  14. Perfect imho. Mine started on one as an 8 year old, fine as a 9 year old, prob another year yet too. Will get the clutch thing in 1 - 2 sessions, just be patient. As long as its in reasonable shape from the get go the TY's seem indestructible. Cons: they do weigh a bit, prob a disadvantage if you are heading into sections, not as competitive as Beta 50s and 80s, but ideal to just get riding off road.
  15. I suspect the answer may be in the other direction Chris, use bottom, go slow, plenty of knees. Really, give it a thorough try, well worth the effort.
  16. No sign of Gary Mac in the results, did he start ?

    Evo Mudguard Mesh

Any hot tips on how to make it stay stuck. The OEM sticky stuff gave up pretty quickly and household silicon just doesn't seem to bond with the smooth underside of the guard, reverted to duck tape for now.
  18. MCE, the BSB title sponsor for the last couple of years offered EVO cover, or at least they did two years ago. Recent attempt to offer long time GG insurer Bennetts my business on an Evo was declined, went MSM for the road cover.
  19. Yes good news about Devon double header, but strange NW double header out (almost an institution) - though hopefully Caton moor bit easier in the summer. And no Bemrose or Westmoreland, the former most enjoyable of the year personally (though appreciate there were probs, hopefully one off) and Westmoreland seemed well received too.
  20. Provisionally: Normandale Traditional
  21. Overall there is not much wrong with the Normandale series, making it harder may spice up the sharp end a bit, but would lower series support overall (imho). In fact it must numerically be the best supported National series. Though catering for such a wide variation of classes its a big ask to get it bang on every time. As said previously I think slightly lower entries later in the year is a natural ebbing of enthusiasm and economics, as I recall the summer lakes event was not a huge entry either, but likewise unlikely a reflection on the event or overall support for the series in its current format. As Jimmyl says its good to have the variery of events with different sections and difficulties. I'd be very suprised if next year doesn't kick off with a bumper entry as usual, economic situation notwithstanding.
  22. Too hard for the occasional club, clubman. I really hope you get the entry you deserve, god knows its tough enough putting the hours into organising a club trial, let alone a road event with all the route and landowners to keep happy. But IMHO (respectfully) there already is enough events offering this level of route, i.e. the Normandale rounds, which are well represented in this general area, and the other road events you mentioned, especially this time of year. In Sport.
  23. Perhaps an easier clubman route would encourage a bigger entry of solos, Dave Rowland and Northern Experts clubman routes take marks off riders who ride expert at club level, and there are plenty of events likewise. How about a clubman route that is set more for as a club trial clubman route, twinshock and Brit bikes. Would be good to have more road events pitched at that level.
  24. Sounds exactly like experience myself and half a dozen others have had on 2010 conventionally spoked Gas Gas rims, IRC just wont hold low pressure under competition, even pretty mild steps. Not heard of same symptoms on Sherco's but suspect similar manufacturer, Morad. Unfortunately have heard this may also apply to late 2011 Gassers with the ridge spoked Morad DID replicas. But not probs at all with Michelins. Xlite decent alternative to IRC in mud, though pricey. Seen plenty of both 2010 and 2011 (ridged) Betas with IRCs though, doesn't appear to be a problem. Sorry cant suggest a solution (other than a Michelin !)
