  1. 80:1 is plenty Im surprised yours runs at all using 33:1!!!!!!! It must be choking up your pipe.
  2. By the time you add on any unforseen parts which (usually) are required i.e. damper rods & other internals, you probably would be better off with a new set in my experience.
  3. 88 TXR, the climbers were 89.
  4. Sounds a bit obvious, but are you sure the plug isn't whiskering? Especially after a rebore etc.
  5. That is one of the last bikes i would choose if i was a beginner, the 280 has an aggressive power delivery not really suited for learning on! You should be looking for a 250 or ideally a 200.
  6. Probably the stator. Very common fault on sherco's,i got a rewound exchange one from splatshop.
  7. Maybe, but most 250 cubs are a lot younger than Eddys honda.
  8. Surely the rim tape is the problem then, air shouldn't be passing that to get to the spokes.
  9. Try riding the same section on different bikes, you'll soon know whether its you or your bike thats the problem! As mentioned above, the raga probably is the last bike you want to start trials riding.
  10. have repaired tubeless tyres using the mushroom type car patch, very good!

    Frame Guards

I got a pair from splatshop.
  12. Technowaldo, why wash all the oil from the bore before starting it? WD40 is an effective degreaser.
  13. 1 down, 5 up. Neutral inbetween 1st & 2nd. Merry Christmas.

    Climber 240

Hi, they were built quite well, but physically larger & heavier than other bikes of the time, like hos says, kickstarts can be troublesome (always check bolt is tight) Far less capable than a 92 gas gas but they were very poorly put together. Worth about
  15. This isn't a 2001 is it? Looks like a 97 JTR to me. Ebay gasser
  16. Alan-nc, that helmet must be at least 20 years old, possibly more. There's no way i would trust my head with that contraption, thats the most ridiculous cost cutting exercise i've seen in a long while. Seriously, are you going to trust your head with that?
  17. i've had them welded up before with good results, just need some careful filing afterwards to smooth it out.
  18. Splatshop do exchange rewound stators if you need one a bit quicker. They are very helpful too.
  19. The timing can slip if the stator is in the process of giving up.
  20. Only 2 years out? Thats pretty good for ebay. I've seen bikes on there 5 or 6 years older than the seller claims, when you send them a polite e-mail with a link to a site showing the correct age, you get one back telling you to f*** off.
  21. Sounds like a '94 jt 25 if it has conventional forks. The "93" in the frame number would be the date of frame manufacture, usually at the end of the previous year.
  22. The TXT model didn't appear until about 1999, do you have the frame no. or a picture so we can establish exactly what you have?
